The tears that pricked at her eyes were welcome for once. And as her wrist came up to rub at the circles beneath her eyes, she sniffled once.
Relief flooded her.
She had been so worried that Joshua would feel the same way that her remaining family did, that to hear him say otherwise had been a large weight off her shoulders. A reprieve from the mixed emotions welling inside her as Randy's words had trampled around inside her head.
Yet, Kaitlyn had known Joshua wasn't her aunt and uncle. If anything, she should've known better than to expect anything less from her guy best friend. Joshua had always supported her. Like an anchor in a turbulent sea, he always wanted the best for her.
