The moment Alyssa opened her eyes, the men immediately gathered around her, their faces full of concern.

Marcus stroked her head and said, “Don’t do something so dangerous again. We’ll worry.”

Alyssa’s eyes reddened, and she clutched Elio’s hand. “I’m sorry. I was just too scared. Running away from the wedding back then was really my fault. I was afraid you wouldn’t want me anymore…”

She lowered her head and sobbed softly. The men immediately felt heartache.

The three brothers comforted her at once. “Don’t be afraid, Alyssa. That happened long ago. We’ll stay with you.”

Yet unease suddenly surged in Elio’s heart, as if something was about to be lost forever.

Alyssa noticed his distraction. “Elio, you’re not saying anything. Do you still blame me?”

Elio quickly patted her hand. “No. Don’t overthink it.”

The doctor pushed the door open and walked in.

Everyone immediately asked, “How’s Alyssa’s condition?”

“This young lady isn’t—”
