Lyra frowned, “Really? You didn't notice that I was disgusting the other night.” A smirk crept on Harrison's face. He huffed, “You don't have to bring this up. I paid for your miserable service, didn't I?” Lyra's grip on the spoon tightened as she pressed her lips. “Service?” she scoffed.Lyra rose and watched him take steps away. “Since I'm the reason you can't eat here, would you eat in your room?” she questioned. She doesn't care about him, she only wants another opportunity to insult him.Her words made Harrison's eyes move back and forth rapidly. It reminded him of his long-lost lover, she said those exact words that very day before she was murdered by a veiled man. The wounded memories of about four years ago were still new. A tear fell to his cheek unchecked, but he promptly wiped it off before anyone noticed. He ordered, “You don't have to act like my wife, Lyra. I lost my appetite because the food was bitter.”

Everyone's eyes moved to the door.The head maid's breathing quickened as she whispered to the junior maid beside her to assemble the workers. The junior maid took quick steps inside and summoned all the workers.The staff aligned in a row and gave a bow, awaiting the Chairman's arrival. Several men in black suits marched into the mansion. They orderly stood at the entrance, staying against the wall.The Chairman was carefully wheeled inside by his assistant and his general secretary at his side.The Chairman was calm as he had a subtle look at his environment. “Good. I'd like the temperature to be a bit cooler,” he ordered and some sweating maids rushed to get it done. “What's going on?” Lyra scratched her head with her brows slanted, it was like movies becoming reality in her eyes.Harrison was calm and for once a genuine smile spread on his face. He took quick steps to the Chairman, “It's good to see you, Dad.”

With her little medical knowledge, Lyra didn't believe the doctors when they said the Chairman's condition was caused by stress. It doesn't make sense to her that stress alone could cause such a serious condition. “Why would the doctors lie?” Lyra thought.
