They have different views. That was the problem. Svanna was again overwhelmed by the need for speechlessness. Nightroe observed things in detail, but that did not mean the man would understand the full truth. Orlando wasn't laughing with her—he was laughing at her. What could Svanna say?

"He was laughing at me for pulling me down into the pool."

Just like that. A storm of tension seemed to take over the situation she had worked so hard to save. Svanna swallowed harshly as she found the corner of Nightroe's lips twitching sarcastically—as if the man could not help himself from such a pure reaction.

"And you didn't try to prevent his actions?"

Nightroe's heavy voice was laden with a condescending tone, also resembling an urgency that made Svanna instinctively step backwards the moment the man began to approach her.

"Already—I already did, Nightroe. But your brother suddenly pulled my hand away."

Svanna could hear how her voice trembled with fear. Hoping to be

"What makes you think I'm telling lies?" Svanna asked back. She's pretty sure something was wrong. Something was robbing the truth between them, and it seemed that the information at the top of Nightroe's head was clouded by an odd lie."What did you expect? You think there's something wrong with my statement? Four years ago I saw your true colors for myself. Don't act like an innocent girl. You're no longer the Johansson I first met."It was as if the man could understand what she was thinking. Could Svanna now call this a case of wrong thinking? Nightroe seemed to have just revealed the one thing that the man had been suppressing."Whatever, Nightroe. I don't feel obliged to convince you of your views. It's your right if that's what you believe. I'm already cold. Could you step aside for a moment?"Useless. It would all be for naught if she still tried to give the man serious knowledge. Nightroe would never turn around just to trust her. Even Svanna could not deny

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Mediteranian

The Mediterranean Sea was often an object of anticipation in Svanna's mind. The calm, the surface glistening in the sunlight, and the most impressive part, the sweep of the wind—the feeling of slapping her face was the most precious image—made her feel more at home, even though she could not ignore the one prospect that urged her to question someone's existence.Nightroe hadn't come home for three days since the last time the man almost went crazy. She didn't quite understand. Perhaps her words had hurt the man's pride, which made them unleash the most fatal chaos on each other. The bad memories of the past could never be salvaged. That is to say, it would never lead to them being okay. All is lost. The wall was up. There would never be a place to fix the worst situation between them. Svanna couldn't imagine how she was going to survive... thinking of the multiple hitchhikers hanging around her neck. There was clearly something wrong. Something that went unsaid and tha

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Hospital

"We're here, Ms."Probably lost in her own thoughts, Svanna was almost oblivious to the situation around her. She blinked quickly, then made preparations to get off before Alex suddenly said, "I'll wait in the parking lot, Ms." There was no protest. Svanna just gave a small nod. It was to be expected that there would be many worries when she decided to engage in a serious relationship with Nightroe. Various surveillance would become daily fodder. She just needed to familiarize herself with things like this."I might be a while, Alex."Svanna did not want Alex to think that she would return immediately. Too long in the Nightroe residence was not something good for her sanity. There would be a lot of freedom here. The enthusiasm in Svanna instantly exploded when she found her father with Amira in the hospital garden.Heldfan looked much healthier than the last time she came. With a suppressed smile, Svanna stepped closer."Papa," she called, causing the middle

  • The Ruthless Mafia   He Came

"What I heard is that he's a donor to this big hospital. So, I think it's his duty to be here." Her father was still filled with positive thoughts about the man. If only Svanna had never known about Yohanna's presence in the same hospital, perhaps she too would have been bombarded with similar images, praising how much empathy Nightroe had for the people around him. That was clearly something wrong. There were hidden intentions and all were still secret motivations for those who were green.Yohanna was the biggest reason why Nightroe often wandered around her father ...."Have you seen him for three days here, Papa?" Svanna would not hold back any longer. Again, just with a faint nod from Heldfan, she could feel how great the explosion was. An explosion made many splinters, and she still had to pick them up one by one to put back together something that almost resembled being broken."Nightroe didn't say anything to you that he had a lot of business at the hospital?

  • The Ruthless Mafia   The Nerve

"Feeling better, Mr. Johannson?"The man's heavy voice sounded almost fierce. For whatever reason, Nightroe seemed to deliberately want to let her father detect an odd part between them. Svanna really, really didn't expect Nightroe to step any closer if, in the end, the man had a serious intention of shattering her composure. If there was indeed something that had not been resolved. Svanna hoped that the man could speak more clearly; then they could find a solution together. She slightly wondered if Nightroe's pride was still hurt by her rejection. It should never have been an issue. Bringing the man's privacy into the argument was also not the part that could be said to be wrong. Svanna felt that it was an important part of simply avoiding the darkness—perhaps it could have happened immediately at that moment had she not taken action."I feel better already and will always be fine as long as Anna is happy with your marriage."Oh, Svanna had not expected Heldfan to

  • The Ruthless Mafia   His Brother's Wife

After saying goodbye to her father, Svanna took a tentative step through the hallway that once brought her some serious information, even if it was the most painful image. The hospital room there ....Svanna swallowed harshly as the distance grew closer. She wished she didn't have the courage to just keep going, but curiosity sometimes acted brazenly. There was no denying that there is a validity to it that gave her more of an idea and an overwhelming level of curiosity. No idea; Svanna felt that she was not okay with not seeing firsthand what Nightroe might be doing inside, even though she knew what kind of risk it would be if the man found out about her sassy attitude. It was now or never.Svanna swallowed roughly. Straightening up while making sure that she would, in fact, be better prepared for anything later. Maybe she just needed to not give Nightroe any hints that she was secretly watching him from behind the glass of the hospital door; then everything s

  • The Ruthless Mafia   No Way

She had no idea what Orlando's statement meant. When Svanna felt she knew nothing, then it should be... the prospect of floating between the two brothers, no longer part of her business. Including any situation that became a big deal between Orlando and the man's brother, though perhaps... sometimes she was so curious."Whatever ever happened between you and Nightroe, now is not the time to involve me, Orlando. Look, I don't want your brother to give me any more punishment. Now let go of your hand. I have to go," Svanna said, still overwhelmed by the effort of removing Orlando's hand. The man held her tightly, even moving his face closer this time. "I apologize for putting you through such a difficult time, Sister-in-Law."Right after that. The sound of the hospital room door opening immediately. "Take your filthy hands off her."Svanna gasped at the appeal of Nightroe's heavy voice. It was a little odd to find Orlando obeying so easily. They were being pinned

  • The Ruthless Mafia   What Kind of Punishment?

"What do you want, Nightroe?" How Svanna could hear her voice trembling violently. Whatever Nightroe's purpose was, it was probably nothing less than a desire to punish. She could see firsthand how those sapphire eyes held many forms of dense clots that needed to be vented. "Nightroe..." Again. Svanna hoped to pull Nightroe to the surface. The man seemed to be engulfed in an unfathomable amount of anger. Did Nightroe really think she and Orlando were doing something here? Looked so close with that physical contact? Wasn't the man judging from a more positive perspective? Which is part of the truth .... Useless. Now Svanna had to accept the fact that Nightroe had just trapped them in one room... with curtains that blocked out even the slightest opening from the outside. This was not right. Nightroe should understand that what that man did later could threaten someone's life. Now it was no longer about the two of them. It was not the right time to settle the past that was clear

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Reckless

"So, you brought lily flowers for me when Nightroe was there too?" asked Svanna skeptically while studying something that might be lingering behind Orlando's expression. She did not understand the man's thinking. They were two siblings who had lived together since childhood; Orlando should have known that Nightroe did not have a good tolerance for the flowers the man had chosen—no matter how consciously. However, the reluctant response behind Orlando's shoulder was a reminder of things pending. It took a lot of effort for Svanna to actually dive in, even though she could not fully grasp the prospect of being left around. The man even chuckled before finally saying, "I didn't know Nightroe was coming to see you. I thought he would never set foot into your infirmary because he never cared." If Orlando's thoughts were true like that. Svanna would not deny that it made sense. She herself never thought she would wake up and find Nightroe already there. Talking with som

After blinking repeatedly, taking in the silence around her. Svanna suddenly jerked awake, only to find that she was still in the same position as last time before falling into a deep sleep. She rubbed her face roughly and slowly moved her attention in various directions. A little incredulous to find Nightroe still there. Sleeping on his back, as if the man's position had never changed. What exactly was Nightroe planning? The alert level in Svanna's mind tried to take part. She knew... when falling asleep for a long time. Supposedly, when she woke up, she no longer found Nightroe in bed. The man was always gone, busy with various matters. It felt odd when things didn't go as usual. Perhaps something was wrong.Svanna's body's instinctive response implied the latter anyway... making her stop everything in place. The touch of her hand tightening on the sofa with such careful attention. Perhaps it was best to leave Nightroe like that. There was still other busines

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Fallen Asleep

"Be careful, Ms."No idea what was really going through Nightroe's head. The man had committed an act of rape, too severe, and the impact was unfinished, even when she only had to step foot into the room. How Svanna scratched her head. Trying to endure the pain in several parts of her body. She needed to hold on. Thankful that Alina was always patiently guiding their steps. The door to the room opened, and it seemed that this place still left so many bad memories. Svanna's breathing was heavy, detecting how she would be trapped here again. Imagining so many memories between Nightroe and another woman. It was so sad. She could only touch the bed and some additional prospects when it was no longer about Yohana's things. Nightroe might have asked Alina to change such an important part, as if to cover the tracks or because... this time the man was starting to realize how important it was to not involve the presence of other women, though there was still the validity wher

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Allergic

"You're not allergic to daisies, are you, Nightroe?" asked Svanna skeptically, while taking a determined look at Nightroe. The man's expression dragged her towards the atmosphere... when things were still fine."You've been sneezing ever since you stalked me all the way to my own garden," Svanna commented, not quite able to stand hearing Nightroe continue to make the same sound, but the man said nothing to give her at least a hint.Svanna immediately half-turned her body backwards with the flower basket she had hanging on her arm. What an immediate sense of surprise to find that Nightroe's nose had turned bright red, and the man still didn't look like he was about to stop from a brutal sneezing attack."Are you okay, Nightroe?" asked Svanna when she finally stepped closer to the man who loomed stiffly there. "I didn't know you grew so many lily flowers."Nightroe's heavy voice finally slipped to the surface while adding the effort of covering half of his fac

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Some News

"Don, I have some bad news to tell you. The evidence of the fire. Everything—including what you've been holding on to—is untraceable. Someone seems to have burned down the details, and now... we've just hit a dead end."The sound of conversation from outside was faintly audible, a kind of tugging at Svanna's will to be pulled to the surface. Her eyelids immediately blinked. It took a bit of getting used to the light spreading directly onto her face.Still in the same room. Svanna wasn't trying to do anything. Just wanted to hear more about what exactly was being talked about outside.Don ....Perhaps the doubt in her could confirm Nightroe's presence there, but she had no clue when the man's heavy voice would sneak up on her hearing. Everything seemed to be lost; no amount of conversation could pull her back to the events of the past few years. The fire. Something inside Svanna was trying to understand what gave Nightroe impact, so it seemed there was a piece le

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Lili or Daisy?

Orlando showed a brief response when he heard the sound of the door opening and someone walking resolutely into the room. He silently grinned sarcastically, still deciding to keep his face down—or rather busy playing with his phone without trying to be distracted. After all, it was highly improbable to have Nightroe show up in this place, but the man was already here.No skeptical talk. Damn it, Orlando was curious about what Nightroe was doing. Immediately stopping any action, he dropped his attention straight to stare at the towering body facing the chest-length shelf there. It was Lili's flower. The one he brought the first time he heard the news about his sister-in-law. She decided to leave for a while, then returned to wait here for a while longer. Let Orlando guess, Nightroe knew who placed the flowers with the vase on top of the shelf and when he dropped his attention to another point. The corner of Orlando's lips immediately turned into a faint grin. Nightroe was hol

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Waiting For Her

Svanna instinctively curled her thin lips; smiling; realizing this would be a good prospect and she wouldn't have to dwell too much on the gap between them. "I know you and your brother's relationship isn't good. It seems like you could start, why did you bring the doctor for him?" "No idea. A brother's instinct, because he solved my problem—perhaps." Again. Orlando's shoulders twitched again. The man looked calm, unconcerned, and tried not to choke on the situation. "Solved your problem?" Svanna underlined the important part. She did not see anything bad happen that day, just someone coming over and Nightroe walking out of the pool. Yeah, that was it. That was it. However, she still wanted to know more. A quick look at Orlando's face simply left the man with no significant reason to hold back in a situation like this. "Yeah, my problem. You know... I'm a mess. I'm the most fucked up in this family. That's why the esteemed Mr. Sullivan doesn't wa

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Still Alive

Death was truly something chaotic, shattering a request for life; from the simplest, to the ugliest scroll. If only, she could hope for justice to play more of a role; perhaps her existence here wouldn't end up being such a miserable life plan. Svanna did not say what the first time she realized she was lying in the hospital was. There was no one here. Hoping Nightroe would be willing to wait was the most unbelievable form of wishing. Something in her should have understood... the man would never care. He wouldn't. It just so happened that Nightroe wanted her alive to take more pain. Svanna would try to understand. Slowly, she moved one hand, noticing the IV needle that was immersed in a vein. It felt like an active protest went unsaid; why did that man have to know; why didn't Nightroe come at a later time or wait until she had completely forgotten how to breathe with such high hopes? Svanna deeply regretted that she was still here; saved; then would be stra

  • The Ruthless Mafia   Not Die That Fast

Alina's tardiness made Nightroe's patience lose its wick to wait any longer. His wide strides immediately pulled him over. The bathroom door was wide open. He crossed the threshold there. However, he was stopped by a shocking sight. The blood on Nightroe's body seemed to have stopped flowing. It took quite a while to understand the situation that was brutally floating. What kind of stupidity was Svanna trying to commit? Damn it!Anxiety immediately sneaked into his mind. Nightroe swooped down to the edge of the bathtub. The faucet had been turned off. Alina obviously did not dare to take too much action, but the woman was right enough to simply not make the water seep more. To hell with it. Nightroe already didn't care about anything. Getting wet; his clothes; everything. He just wanted Svanna to be safe. Immediately brought her out and laid her frail body down on the slippery surface of the bathroom floor. "Anna...""Wake up, Anna..."It had been a l
