Chapter 2

Author: HF Era
Susan eventually noticed me hugging the urn as I stood at the doorway.

Seeing that I was staring at the camera, she twitched uncomfortably as she straightened herself and cleared her throat. "We bought the camera after we married—that means it's both ours. So what if I used it?"

It was the camera I had bought to take photos of our son, but whenever I used it, she would mock me.

"Taking so many photos? Don't you get bored?"

"A man taking photos every moment every day. What a loser!"

Now, she couldn't wait to go down on her knees and take photos of Mark from every angle.

I strode up, snatching away the camera.

Mark promptly clutched his chest and rasped meekly at Susan, "I should go… He's so upset."

"No, you will stay and rest!" Susan snapped, stopping him.

I turned away in disgust to check the camera, but the memory card was empty. "Susan, our son's photos… Did you delete them?!"

She was stumped. "No, I didn't."

Mark then chimed in innocently, "You mean all those baby photos? I thought those were the default photos saved there, so I formatted it…"

Then, smiling provokingly, he added, "The baby looked so ugly it can't be Susan's baby. I meant no harm…"

Furious, I punched him in the face.

I had sponsored him because he was poor—his stepfather would have sold him off as a gigolo if not for me.

And this was how he repaid me for helping him thrive in the city.

I should have just let him be if I had known!

Smack!

I clutched my face in disbelief as I glared at Susan, who slapped me audibly. "You slapped me?!"

She glared at me coldly in turn. "Mark didn't mean any harm! What more do you want?! And it's not like our son is going anywhere—we just have to take more photos! Don't you deserve to be struck for hitting a guest?!"

'It's not like our son is going anywhere?!'

I pointed at the urn and growled, "You kept dragging your feet because of Mark! Our son couldn't wait anymore!"

She simply snorted coldly. "You can make up such a lie just to make me hurt Mark?! I was stupid to marry you!"

Then, she pulled Mark along to the main bedroom, closed the door, and purred from inside, "Just get some rest. I'll buy you your favorite food."

I stood motionlessly, my nails digging into my palm.

My phone vibrated, and I saw my mentor's reply.

[Just do what you want.]

Even as I sensed the last seal being lifted, a dog came bounding at me, leaving bloody scratches on my thigh.

Then, it darted everywhere in the house and knocked over every fragile decoration.

Then, seeing that it was about to pee over the ash urn, I pushed it out of the way, cursing, "Get off!"

Susan heard the commotion and scowled at me right then. "Don't you dare hurt Mark's dog! What, you can't even live with a dog?! Do you even call yourself a man?!"

She couldn't see my injuries or the mess in the house, but she promptly leaped to the dog's defense.

I already gave up on her after our son's death, but seeing her hateful glare, my heart still hurt.

"Susan York. I curse you to die painfully just like our son did."

I spoke too quietly for her to hear, but I could see the dark smoke over her head to prove that the curse was set.

"What are you spacing out for?!" Susan was still snapping. "The dog cost you nothing! If you lay another finger on it, I will send footage of you torturing it online, and your family won't get to survive in town!"

She had thousands of sub-accounts, but she had never used those to cancel anyone else.

She could be kind, but she was kind to anyone but me.

"Just a painful death is too easy for you, Susan York," I said quietly. "I want you to die painfully, but also with nothing to your name while everyone hates you."

Just give me a chance to make things right okay?"I raised a brow like I didn't recognize her at all. "Make things right? How? By cancelling my card again, so that both me and my son get kicked out, again?"Susan clearly had no idea what I was talking about, until the same undertaker saw me and gloated, "I said—if you're poor, leave! How are you so thick-skinned, showing up here again?!"Seeing that lofty attitude, I had yet to speak when Susan swung her handbag across his face. "Poor?! Who said we're poor?! There—take twenty grand on me fo

I just don't want to see you sad…"Before he could finish, I stared right at his lying mouth as I cursed him under my breath, "From now on, Mark Stanley will suffer a broken bone every time he lies."Susan heard me and glared at me in disapproval, while Mark thought nothing of it and went up to tug on her sleeve as he continued, "I was just going to wait before I tell you, because I don't want to see you sad…"As he finished and walked past me, his left foot tripped over his right foot, and he fell face first.Worst of all, as his leg struck the steps, his bones cracked and broke audibly, and his face contorted in unbearabl

Mark came out of the bedroom with his dog right then, his eyes widened as he feigned shock. "Zach! Have you lost your mind?! How could you curse your own wife?"Then, with the dog in one hand and Susan in the other, he huffed, "Let's go. A man like him doesn't deserve you."Susan smirked at me haughtily as I stayed on the floor. "I told you, Zach—you don't even measure up to Mark's little finger."Then, holding Mark's chin, she kissed him, their lips and tongue slurping audibly in the living room.I glanced at the cameras on the wall. When Susan had those installed, she told me it was to see me since she was always out on business trips. Now, it was going to be proof for my divorce case.Even as I turned away, my curse took hold as Susan's assistant rushed inside, crying in panic, "Ms. York, the core project has just been called off, and our partners are threatening to nullify the contract!"Susan's face dropped.-After that day, Susan didn't leave her office for two weeks,
