Chapter 2

ผู้เขียน: Iron Egg 111
I slowly started to piece together the timeline upon recalling what William said over the phone earlier.

In my past life, Karen always used me as an excuse every time she met up with Wilbur, saying that I needed her to do something.

Sometimes she would claim that I wanted to eat eclairs from Nord Bakery and that she needed to go get them for me. Other times she would claim that I refused to eat the food she made, so she had to go out to buy food for me.

Karen would be gone for hours every time she went out. She would be out of breath, sweaty, and disheveled whenever she came back. On top of that, the things she said she would buy for me were never bought.

Her excuse would always be the same, telling me that the things I allegedly wanted were sold out in the store. She would claim she was late because she ran to several stores knowing that I was craving them, but they were all sold out.

On this very day in my past life, Karen went out under the pretense of buying bread for me. In reality, she went to the hospital for a prenatal check-up for her illegitimate child.

However, she was worried that the scandal might tarnish her lover's reputation as he was a married man.

As such, she secretly used my name and information to register at the obstetrics and gynecology department. She was planning to put the child under mine and William's names, making it appear as if it were our child.

Karen truly had some nerve—my alleged child was actually my sister-in-law or brother-in-law. If word of this ever got out, it would definitely go viral on social media.

However, no matter how much she schemed, she couldn't escape Wilbur's wife's keen eyes.

Wilbur's wife, Annie Ziegler, showed up at the hospital with a group of people after receiving a tip-off that Wilbur's mistress had registered at the obstetrics and gynecology department.

Upon realizing that things were going south, Karen quickly came up with some excuse to trick me into going to the hospital. She then framed me as the mistress by using the fact that the registered name was mine.

I ended up getting stripped of my clothes and beaten to death by a furious Annie.

I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger upon recalling the awful things Karen did to me in my past life. I was determined to make her pay in this lifetime and call her out about her illegitimate child.

In my past life, I was confused after William hung up on me, but I refused to let the same thing happen again.

Instead, I softened my tone and spoke up before he could end the call. "What are you talking about, darling? I've never asked Karen to buy things for me. But I happened to receive a text from a friend working in the hospital earlier, telling me that she saw Karen in the hospital.

"Do you think she might be sick? She probably doesn't want us to worry about her, so she might have been using that excuse to go to the hospital instead.

"What should we do, darling? You don't think something's wrong with her, do you?"

William panicked as soon as he heard my words. "I'll go to the hospital now!"

I had a cold expression on my face as I ended the call. I, too, rushed over to the hospital after contacting Kiesha Gunner—my livestreamer friend.

I refused to be passive like I was in my past life. This time, I would take the initiative.

William finally arrived at the scene then. He looked at Karen, his face etched with utter disappointment. He said, "I can't believe you're someone like this, Mom. I trusted you so much, yet you went and framed Lucy just to save yourself. You should just move back out; I can't have you living with us anymore. Take care of yourself."Karen was desperately crying. She went down on her knees and begged for my forgiveness, yet I ignored her.William then turned to me, looking ashamed as he said, "I'm sorry for misunderstanding you, Lucy."His apology was sincere, but I didn't feel touched in any way.I looked at him, asking, "And? Is your apology of any use? Can it negate all the hurt I felt before you apologized to me?"We've been married for many years, William. Don't you know what kind of person I am? But when false accusations came up, the first thing you did was to believe in others instead of your wife."I couldn't care less about the bystander's slanders, yet William's distru

Annie also noticed how Wilbur wetted himself. She sneered, "What a coward!"She went on, "Have I ever done anything to you, Wilbur? I supported you wholeheartedly when you said you wanted to start a business. I was even the one who paid off your debts when you lost them all and never once blamed you."You told me you liked my short hair, so I stopped growing my hair for you. You told me you loved my cooking, and I've never ordered takeouts to brush you off."But look at how you've been treating me—you've been cheating with an old hag who's even got a married son! You guys are even having so much fun."Annie said, "I'll just consider all these years my mistake. I'm telling you, we're done for good!"Wilbur's knees went weak when he heard her. He cried uncontrollably, slapping himself repeatedly while begging her for forgiveness.Annie only gave him an exhausted glance. She eventually instructed her subordinates to strip both Karen and Wilbur naked and bind them together with a ro

William stared at the screen in disbelief, still reeling from the shock.Karen's gaze turned hollow as she collapsed onto the ground. Seeing that the truth was completely exposed with no chance of turning back, she crawled over and hugged Annie's leg.She tried to argue her way out once again. "No—that's not it! He forced me to do it! I was tricked!"Annie laughed bitterly, asking, "You said you were forced to do it?"Karen hurriedly nodded.Annie shut her eyes. When she opened them again, she gave Karen a hard kick.Karen stumbled onto the ground, scraping her palms and making it bleed."Do you think I'm blind? Does someone who's forced to do it act the way you did in the footage? Fuck, how disgusting! It's one thing if he cheated, but he actually cheated with an ugly old hag. How disgusting!" Annie screamed, showing signs of mental breakdown. She lunged at Karen on the floor, grabbing her hair and smashing her head against the ground. The impact knocked Karen unconscious brie

My expression turned cold as I pointed out a flaw in Karen's words. "Did I ever say that you're the mistress? I didn't, so why are you taking the blame on yourself? Or are you actually guilty? Is that why you're desperately trying to prove yourself?"Karen was about to retort but realized that she couldn't come up with a reply. She then fell silent.I shot a sharp glance around the room. Embarrassed, the bystanders lowered their heads when they realized what I said. Even William was at a loss for words.I pushed past everyone while they quietened down, walking briskly over to the frost desk of the repair shop.I found the staff and said, "I want to check the surveillance footage. Did you not notice someone tampering with a car in your shop without any legitimate reason?"It's just the dashboard camera this time, but what if someone tampers with the brakes and causes an accident while I'm on the road?"The staff looked horrified, trembling as he called for the manager. The manag

Karen stayed silent throughout the entire journey, with her hands clasped tightly on her lap. She would occasionally fiddle with her phone, looking extremely anxious.Annie chuckled coldly from the driver's seat. "You better not be lying to me—I hate it the most when people lie to me. If you're actually lying to me, regardless of whether you're the mistress or not, I'll make you suffer what the mistress would suffer. You'd be regretting it then."With the experience from my past life, I had no doubt about the truth behind her words.Annie truly was a madwoman. She was someone who acted recklessly without regard for the consequences once she settled on the truth.Having learnt from my past mistakes, I refused to let anyone manipulate me anymore. I gave her a sideways glance without saying a word.…We arrived at the repair shop shortly after. After getting out of the car, I hurriedly led Annie and the others to where William's car was at. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw it

My expression fell, and I tried my best to stay calm. "Aren't you being too quick to label me as the mistress? You have no evidence, yet you're doing so just based on the words of others. What's next then? Are you planning to beat me to death in public? Do you really have that much power?"Once again, the bystanders erupted in a flutter of chatter.Someone said, "She's right; there's no evidence at all. What if there's more to the story? We shouldn't jump to conclusions yet."Another replied, "That's right! I've seen similar news before—some human traffickers sold someone off to Northern Monna under the excuse of beating a mistress up. Are they doing the same now?"I pushed away Annie's subordinates and stood back up.Annie's face flushed in embarrassment upon being called out by me. Gone was her arrogant attitude as she stuttered, "S-Someone told me the mistress was here for a prenatal check-up. I'm just not sure who the sly woman is."I said nothing, smiling slightly. "I know
