LOGINSitting with her back straightened in her seat, Naomi took a sip from the cup of tea in her hand and nervously returned it to the table.
Scott Lewis, the man she had turned down three years ago to be with her husband, was sitting right in front of her. He was still looking as handsome as he was the first time they met. "How are you holding up?" He asked her. "I recently learned about everything that's going on." "I'm okay." She responded with a smile. But I really didn't hurt her! It was just a plan of hers to ruin me!" "I know. Which is why I did some digging to help you clear your name and I think you'll be pleased with what I have." He announced as he reached into his pocket. "Wait, you believe me?" She seemed confused. "Of course I do. "I know who you are, and I know you will never hurt someone, no matter how much they hurt you." Naomi felt his words touch her heart. He hadn't seen her in three years, yet he believed her at once. Yet her own husband, whom she had lived with for those three years, didn't even want to hear her out. He had decided on his own. Scott had a warm smile on his face. He took out a flash drive and handed it to her. "I was able to get my hands on the security footage of that day and I know you can clear your name with this." She accepted it with a grateful heart. "Wow! This is huge! Thank you so much." "I know you can put it to good use." It's late, I'll be on my way now. "I hope we can see again," he announced as he rose to his feet. Naomi saw him outside of Lilly's apartment, and she felt like she could finally breathe after he was gone. She couldn't help but to feel guilty about turning him down three years ago. Lilly could see through her best friend and she hugged her. "I didn't know he was in town. How did he even know to find you here?" "I don't know, but I'm saved now thanks to him. Can you contact any reporters? "I think the whole world has to see things with their own eyes," Naomi suggested, and Lilly nodded her head. "I got you covered friend!" She smiled. "I'm looking forward to tomorrow," Naomi started with a smile. Morning came and Naomi was already prepared for D-Day to begin. Dressed in a red sexy dress that hugged her curves and black wedge heels. Standing at the entrance of the court, Justin checked his watch repeatedly, checking the time. It was already quarter past ten and Naomi was yet to arrive. He had been there before with his sister, Sarah. Sarah hissed. "Where is that heartless b*tch?! How dare she keep us waiting! Who does she think she is?" He thought to himself, 'Maybe she has realized that she was wrong to try to divorce me in the first place, and now she regrets it. She is probably too scared to show up today, unable to admit her mistake.' Before a smirk could work up on his face, an expensive-looking car parked in front of the court and a handsome-looking man came down from it. Without wasting any time, he went and opened the door to the passenger seat and Justin couldn't believe it when his wife came down from it. She was more beautiful than he had ever seen. Rage filled him as the handsome man kept close to Naomi, and she smiled as he whispered something to her. "That slut!" Sarah spat out. Naomi stopped right in front of Justin. "Did you wait long? I had business to attend to. Shall we?" "How dare you keep us waiting?" Sarah angrily yelled, but to her surprise, Naomi only spared her a Gregg. She continued towards the entrance of the courtroom with Scott close to her when Justin suddenly gripped her by the forearm. "We need to talk," he said in a commanding tone. "I don't think you have anything more to talk about," Scott said in a firm tone as he pulled Naomi closer to himself. Justin felt confused. Who the hell was this stranger? Naomi smiled. "It's okay, go in, I'll be a minute." She said to Scott. After a hesitant minute, he went in. Justin chuckled. "What is this? You're already seeing another man?" "Is that what you wanted to say to me?" She plainly asked. He released his grip from her hand and dipped them in his pocket. "Have you thought this through? You sure you won't regret leaving me?" "Tch," Naomi chortled. "I'm sure." With that being said, she left him standing and walked into the courtroom. Justin still couldn't believe how confident his wife had become. Normally she would never dare to look him in the eye, but now she wasn't even afraid to speak as she wished. Did she really not care about all the wealth she would be missing out on? After all, she was a poor nobody. Heaving out his thoughts along with a sigh, he walked into the courtroom with his sister and, just like that, their marriage was over. On their way out, Naomi suddenly stopped and walked towards him. "Oh! Before I forget, I prepared a parting gift for you. I'm pretty sure you'll love it." Justin was confused, but she left before he could ask any questions. Almost immediately, she drove off with her new fling-- according to Justin's point of view - his phone started to ring, and he took it out of his pocket. He was surprised to see that it was his father calling him. Though he was surprised, he immediately answered the phone. "Dad?" "That's good for nothing backstabbing b*tch! "How dare she do something so terrible?!" George Miller yelled out. "Dad, I think the divorce was not such a bad idea--" "Not that you fool! The world has known the truth! What are we going to do?" Justin squinted. "The truth?" Gregg hurried I went down from the driver's seat and rushed towards Justin. "Sir, I think you should see this." Justin was surprised by the video Gregg showed him. He couldn't believe his own eyes. "Oh no..."Justin's POV.I watched as Scott's car moved away from my villa. Having Naomi in my arms the previous night left a scar in my heart. It was the final reminder that I was about to lose her forever.I entered the villa and began arranging my belongings. I decided to travel back to New Orleans. There was nothing else I could do, I lost and I deserve every heartache I was going through right now.I arranged all my luggages in the car trunk. Before I leave for the airport, I decided to drive down to the live beach. I needed to see everything one more time before I left – I needed that closure.I parked near the beach and walked the rest of the way. The sand was still damp from the storm, and the waves were a little more aggressive than usual, churning and restless, like something within me.I didn’t belong here. Not anymore.A white canopy flapped softly in the wind, set up right on Love Beach. Rows of white chairs faced the sea, trimmed with gold ribbons and delicate flower arrangements.
Naomi’s POV.The sky was blue and clear as if it wasn't the same sky that loomed dark and stormy last night. I was in Scott's car. The storm lasted all night, and he could only come pick me up this morning.I could not forget the look Justin gave me as I was leaving. For some reason, I could feel his pain. Perhaps it was because I was also in pain. I didn't want to go but I had to.I had not slept as well as I did last night. It felt peaceful, right, and comforting. We didn't have sex or go naked. We were just cuddled up, without saying anything while listening to our heart beats“You seem quiet. Is everything alright?” Scott asked, averting his gaze at me.“I am fine.” I managed to answer. Although I was feeling a little bit nauseous, I didn't pay much attention to it. I suspected it had something to do with the change in weather as well as the food.“Don't you think we need to get you checked? Before the wedding I mean.” He said.“The wedding is tomorrow, we don't have time to get m
Naomi's POV.“Are you following me?”“I should be the one asking if you were following me Naomi. I left the restaurant right after the toast and here you are now.” Justin said, moving closer to me.I took a few steps backwards until my back was leaning against the car. That didn't stop Justin. He kept coming closer until we were a breath away.*What are you doing?” I managed to ask, locking my gaze on his.He leaned over and pressed his lips against my throat. His kiss sent shivers down my spine. I clenched my fist, attempting to keep from drowning in pleasure.“Back off.” I said, pushing him slightly away. I quickly got into the car and shut the door. My heart was pounding so hard that it felt like it was about to escape my chest.Justin just stood there, staring at the window of my car. He could not see me through the tinted window, but I could.“Get out of here Naomi.” I said to myself before driving off.It was ten minutes into the drive when I started to hear funny sounds coming
Naomi's POV. Tessa and Lily accompanied me to the closest boutique around love Beach to pick out a dress for me. That evening was the rehearsal dinner for the wedding. After three hours of being in a boutique, we finally found something that the three of us loved. We got back to the resort at about 2p.m that afternoon. I decided to go check up on Ken. I wanted him to attend the rehearsal dinner scheduled for tonight.“Hey.” I said as soon as I got in.“Hey Naomi, how are you? I haven't seen you in a while. I guess the wedding preparations have been overwhelming for you right?” Ken asked. He looked much better compared to the last time I saw him and I was glad that he was recovering well.I sat beside him on the bed and held his hand softly. “A lot has been going on but I am here now.” I said, smiling at him. “After the wedding is over, we can start your therapy sessions and will recover quickly.”Scott remained quiet for a while before opening his mouth to talk. “You know what Naomi
Naomi's POV.The next morning came too bright, too fast. I woke to the sound of seagulls and the soft crash of waves against the shore. My head throbbed, not from alcohol, but from everything else. From last night. From the look in Justin’s eyes. From my silence.I sat on the edge of the bed, staring out at the ocean from the open balcony of the resort. Scott was sleeping soundly beside me. Thank God he didn't notice what happened between Justin and I. He was fully engrossed with business talk that he didn't notice my absence. There was a knock at the door."Naomi?"Veronica.I pulled on the white robe draped over the chair and padded barefoot to the door. I hesitated. Then I opened it.“I didn't wake you up, did I?” She asked with a smile across her face. She stretched her neck to check my bed and I swear, her facial expression softened when she was Scott sleeping soundly.“Scott is here?”Was she expecting someone else?“Shouldn't he?” I couldn't stop myself from asking.“No, don't
Naomi's POV.Scott didn't spend the night in the room after our little fight last night and honestly, I was relieved. I didn't know how to handle being in the same room with him with that much tension.I heard a knock on my door and I lazily got up to open the door. Lily and Tessa were standing outside the room. Without waiting for me to invite them, they walked past me.“See, I told you that Scott didn't spend the night here.” Lily said, staring at Tessa.“What happened Naomi? I thought you guys were fine last night.” Tessa said, sounding concerned.“Don't worry about it. I know Scott, I am sure we will sort everything out today.” I said.“If that's the case, Lily and I were going shopping. We were wondering if you'd like to tag along.” Tessa invited. “We could use this as an opportunity to tour the city.” Lily chipped in. She knew better than anyone and she knew that touring new places had always been my favorite thing to do.“You two go.” I declined. “Well, that's alright. You wi
