* Alpha Archer *

The morning after, the Alpha house smelled of roasted meat and honeyed bread for breakfast, but it didn't stir my usual appetite. The noise of the party from last night had long faded into silence, replaced by the low hum of servants tidying the hall in a morning routine. I sat in the long dining table with a goblet untouched before me, when both of my parents entered in a good mood.

My mother, Zeina, the pack Luna since I am still single, carried herself with that unshakable grace she never lost, even after stepping down from her mantle as Alpha. My father also former Alpha, Cerberus, filled the room the moment he stepped inside, towering and commanding, his presence like a mountain shadowing everything else.

My mother's eyes softened when they landed on me. "Did you enjoy your birthday party, Archer?"

Her voice was warm and soothing at the same time. I gave a small snort, leaning back in my chair. "Parties are only for children."

My father chuckled low, settling at

    * Regina *Days turned into a week. The pack had returned to its rhythm, training, tending, serving. For me, life went back to what it had always been. I was Regina the omega, daughter of Amanda, servant to the Alpha house.At dawn, I rose with my mother, sweeping the corridors before the warriors awoke, polishing silver trays until I could see my reflection in their shallow gleam. By midday, I joined her in the kitchens, chopping roots and herbs, carrying baskets of fresh bread to the long tables where warriors filled the benches with their booming laughter. They rarely noticed me before. I was just another girl in plain dresses, moving quickly with my head bowed, careful not to stumble or linger.But lately... things felt different.It began after word spread that Alpha Archer's parents had departed for Mount Hollow. Their absence left a space in the Alpha house, one that seemed to draw more eyes toward me than ever before. The warriors had always been sharp-tongued, quick with joke

  • The Silver Alpha   Chapter Nine

    * Alpha Archer *The cabin door shut behind us with a dull thud, muffling the distant sounds of music and revelry from the Alpha house. My jaw was tight, my steps heavy as I guided Carla inside, though every fiber of me regretted it. I could have brought her to my chamber in the Alpha house, but that room was mine, sacred, untouched by passing whims. I would not stain it with the scent of a she-wolf chosen only for a night. Not when my parents slept under the same roof. Not when I could feel my mother's watchful presence even through the walls.In the cabin, an old hunting lodge I kept for solitude, Carla's laughter echoed too loudly against the wood. She happily slipped her arms around my neck the moment I set the lantern down, her lips seeking mine, hungry and rehearsed. Her perfume clung to me, thick and suffocating."Alpha, oh you are so hot," she whispered, her voice drenched in triumph more than desire. Her fingers trailed across my hard chest, nails scratching lightly through t

    * Regina *Everyone was still busy with laughter and music mixing in a haze of smoke and the scent of perfume coming from the she-wolves. My eyes stung, though I didn't understand why. Perhaps, I am disappointed with myself that he hadn't chosen me. Alpha Archer does not prefer me.He had glanced at me, more than once, I knew he had, but in the end, it was Carla's name he uttered. Carla, with her colored lips and perfect smile, who slipped her hand into his arm like she had been waiting her whole life for it. The hall cheered, their voices rising, and I tried to join in. I even clapped my hands softly, but the sound felt hollow, but deep inside I am not happy. Was I disappointed? Yes. But the truth was, I didn't even know what I had been hoping for. I was too young to truly understand what it meant to be chosen, what it meant to follow the Alpha into his chambers. I had only heard whispers, scandal and reverence, from the older women, stories painted with both envy and warning.Still

    * Alpha Archer *The laughter coming from the people in the hall was nothing but noise to me. It sounded loud and too desperate. My warriors and a few guests celebrated my birthday like the world would crumble tomorrow, but for me, the wine and the women were just hollow comforts. Neither is essential in my daily routine, but this is just for this moment.It was a tradition, that on Alpha's birthday, a night of indulgence for all his warriors too. A night when the Luna's women paraded themselves in silk and painted lips, waiting for my hand to pluck one of them to serve me on my bed. I did not doubt that half the she-wolves in this pack or in this hall right now had already rehearsed their sighs and practiced their smiles in the mirror.But I wasn't interested.I should have been. My blood ran hot, my body demanded release after weeks and months of training, leading the warriors and war council, and my instincts snarled for a mate, even a temporary one. Yet when I looked at them, all

    * Regina *The days passed by fast in the Western pack. The next morning, I was still basking in the strangeness of sleeping in a clean bed when a sharp knock rattled the door of our room. My mother stirred awake beside me, already anxious. Before either of us could answer, the door creaked open, and a tall wolf warrior stepped in. His hair was tied back, his chest marked with the faint scars of training, and his presence and build were commanding without effort."Regina?" His deep voice carried weight, though not unkind. He is asking for my name.I pushed myself up from the bed, clutching the blanket around me. "Y-Yes."He studied me for a moment, his eyes flicking over my face with a sort of critical appraisal, as though he were measuring something I couldn't see. Finally, he nodded, satisfied. "You'll need to come with me."My mother sat up, alarmed. "For what reason? I am her mother.”The warrior glanced her way, then back to me. "The Alpha's birthday is in three days. The Luna re
