Elina POV

“Anything?” he echoed, voice like velvet over steel. “You’ll be whatever I want? Whenever I want?”

A chill crept down my spine, subtle and sharp. Every instinct I had was screaming at me to turn and run, warning me that I was stepping onto a ledge I could never climb back from.

But desperation didn't give me the luxury of a choice. I was trapped, backed into a corner where pride and survival couldn't coexist.

I nodded, breath catching. “Yes, Aziel.”

A cruel smirk curved on his lips, slow and wicked. “Good girl.”

Then, without warning, Aziel King turned toward the front. “Out.”

The command wasn’t for me it was for the others. The doors clicked open. His men didn’t question, didn’t hesitate. One by one, they stepped out, his driver, his guards. No one asked why, they simply obeyed.

The doors shut behind them. And then…it was just two of us now.

My chest rose and fell with shallow breaths as I sat frozen in the back seat, unsure of what came next. Every part of me was wound tight, like a wire about to snap.

Aziel slid into the driver’s seat. He looked calm and collected like he hadn’t just ordered armed men into the wilderness.

He reached over the center console and unlatched the lock on the back. “Come here.”

His voice was so cold and unshaken that my spine stiffened. My hands refused to move.

“Why?”I asked, my voice trembling despite my best efforts to keep it steady. Panic clawed at my throat as I pressed myself further back against the leather seat. "What are you going to do?”

He didn’t answer, he didn’t need to. He simply looked at me through the rearview mirror, cold and unyielding.

And I had no choice but to obey him.

I slid forward, heart pounding in my throat, every nerve ending screaming wrong, wrong, wrong…but I was too deep now. There was no turning back.

The moment I shut the door behind me, he shifted gears. The car rolled forward into the dark.

But instead of turning toward the main road, he veered right, off the path, off the map, into the trees.

“Wait, this isn’t the highway,” I whispered, the panic slipping into my voice before I could catch it.

His hands remained firm on the wheel. “Yes, it's not.”

What..!?

My pulse thundered in my ears. No headlights ahead, no streetlights. It was just towering trees and shadows that grew thicker the deeper we went.

Panic clawed up my throat. “Where are we going?”

“Somewhere quiet. Why? Afraid now, ma bella?” The words settled into my bones like ice and the smirk on his face scared me more.

He’s a psychopath. A real one.

Not the kind people joke about at parties or whisper about in rumors. This is the kind of man who doesn’t flinch when pulling the trigger… who doesn’t need a reason to end someone.

He killed people back there. For me. Because I ran and now I was alone with him in the dark with no one left to hear me scream.

Aziel King wasn’t just a monster…hewas the end of monsters. And I had willingly climbed into the lion’s cage.

The tires crunched over gravel, slowing until the car rolled to a stop. We were far, too far, from anything familiar.

The forest swallowed us whole, tall trees like silent sentinels, and the night air sharp enough to sting my lungs.

The engine cut out, plunging the car into absolute darkness, save for the faint glow of the dashboard. Before I could process the sudden stillness, Aziel stepped out first. No words, no explanation…just a long, heavy silence.

The cool night air rushed into the warm cabin as he left the door open behind him, carrying the scent of damp earth and crushed pine.

My hands trembled in my lap. I wanted to pretend I wasn’t scared but everything in my body screamed not to follow him.

“Come out.” His voice sliced through the heavy quiet, sharp and commanding despite its low volume.

There was no room for negotiation in those three words. The illusion of choice vanished, replaced by the suffocating reality of my situation.

I swallowed the lump in my throat, forced my uncooperative legs to move, and pushed the door open.

My shoes crunched against the gravel as I stepped into the crisp night air, every nerve ending raw with fear as I stood before him, completely at his mercy.

“Where are we going?” I asked softly, the words barely more than a whisper as the icy wind bit into my skin.

He turned to me slowly, his movements deliberate and unhurried. He didn't answer right away.

Instead, he reached inside the heavy wool of his coat and pulled out a narrow strip of dark, silky fabric that caught the pale glint of the moonlight.

A black blindfold.

“Put this on.”he said, holding it out to me with a calm, terrifying finality.

My breath caught in my throat, the cold air burning as it filled my lungs. "What…?”

His expression didn’t change. “You said you’d do anything, Elina. Then trust me in the dark.”

“I-I don’t understand…”

“You don’t need to,” he cut in, his words slicing through my protest before I could finish it. “You just need to obey.”

His voice wasn’t raised, nor was it openly threatening. It was worse. It was calm, chillingly measured, carrying the absolute weight of someone who knew I had nowhere left to run.

My heart thundered wildly against my ribs, a chaotic cadence in the stillness of the night. Every survival instinct I possessed screamed at me to turn, to run, that this was madness…but I couldn’t afford to defy him. I reached out and took it.

I reached out with shaking fingers and took the fabric from his hand.

The silk was smooth and soft against my skin, deceptively gentle for something that felt like a death sentence.

Taking a trembling breath, I brought the band up and tied it securely behind my head.

Darkness swallowed me whole.

Stripped of my sight, every other sense flared into sharp, terrifying focus.

I felt the crunch of dead leaves beneath my shoes as he began to lead me through the trees, his hand a firm, unyielding anchor on my arm.

Every step I took behind him felt like stepping into a darker version of myself, the girl who didn’t flinch at threats anymore, who’d blindly followed a man who could kill her without blinking… and still asked to stay.

Then, the dense canopy of the woods seemed to give way as a sudden, powerful surge of air struck my face.

The wind here was different…sharp, freezing, and wild. It lacked the muffled stillness of the forest. This wind howled against my skin like a warning, screaming at me to turn back, as if the very air had witnessed the fate of every girl foolish enough to trust a monster like him.

I swallowed hard, my throat raw and my lips dry against the cold. “Where are we?”

He didn’t answer.

The silence stretched on, heavy and suffocating, until the pressure in my chest grew unbearable.

“Aziel?” My voice cracked, the fragile barrier of my composure finally fracturing. “What are you trying to do?”

“Testing you,” his voice finally came low, distant, almost thoughtful. “You said you'd do anything, remember? That you trust me in the dark.”

“Now it's time.”

What..?

The moment he opened my blind fold, I felt my heart almost come out of my throat at the sight.

What the fuck!?
