Chapter 4

The door was slightly opened, allowing a sliver of light from the hallway to spill into the dim room. She listened carefully, her breaths shallow and quick. The thought of Richard finding her like this sent a wave of fear through her, but there was also a thrill in the danger of it all. But there was also a twisted thrill in the idea of almost being caught, the danger of it, the illicit nature of what she and Julian had just done.

The footsteps grew louder and stopped just outside her door. Sophia held her breath, her heart pounding. The doorknob turned slowly and she felt her heart stop. Hearing the gentle knock, she bit her lip, not sure if she should respond.

"Sophia, are you awake?" Richard’s voice came out, filled with concern.

Sophia's body tensed and she quickly pulled the covers up to her chest, hiding the mess beneath. "Y… yeah, Dad, I'm awake." She stammered, hoping her voice didn't give away how anxious she was.

The door opened a little more and Richard peeped inside. "Are you okay, Sophia? I thought I heard something."

Sophia swallowed hard, forcing a smile. "I'm fine, just… just couldn't sleep. Probably jet lag." She tried to sound casual, but her voice was higher than usual, her words coming out too quickly.

Richard nodded, his eyes scanning the room briefly before settling on Sophia.

"Alright… Well, try to get some rest, okay? It's late." He hesitated, as if sensing something was off, then gave a small smile. "Goodnight, sweetheart."

"Goodnight, Dad." Sophia replied, her heart still racing.

Richard lingered for a moment longer before quietly closing the door. Sophia waited, listening intently to the sound of her father’s footsteps retreating down the hallway. When she was certain Richard was gone, she let out a shaky breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. Her body was still tense.

Her head fell back into the pillows, her mind spinning. How close had she come to being caught? The thrill of it mixed with dread and she felt a strange excitement course through her veins. She couldn't help but wonder what Richard would have done if he had walked in a few minutes earlier.

Suddenly, Sophia's phone vibrated on the nightstand, breaking her thoughts. She grabbed it quickly, her hands trembling.

A message from Julian flashed on the screen: "Meet me in the study. Now."

Sophia’s breath hitched and her heart pounded even harder. She hesitated for a moment, her mind filled with conflicting emotions. Should she go?

Her body still felt raw from his touch, her skin still tingling where his fingers had been. She wanted to see him, to feel his hands on her again, but she was also scared, terrified of what they had already done and what it meant for them.

But the pull was irresistible. She slipped out of bed, her legs shaky as she tiptoed across the room.

She carefully opened the door, glancing down the hallway to ensure Richard was nowhere in sight. The way was clear. Sophia paced quietly down the hall, her feet barely making a sound on the polished wooden floor.

Her heart thudded loudly in her chest, each beat echoing in her ears. Reaching the study door, she paused, taking a deep breath to steady herself. The door was slightly open, and she could see the soft glow of the table lamp spilling out into the darkened corridor.

She pushed the door open and slipped inside, closing it gently behind her. Julian was standing by the window, his silhouette dark against the moonlight streaming in.

He turned to look at her, a slow, predatory smile spreading across his lips.

"You came." He murmured, his voice low and filled with satisfaction.

Sophia swallowed, her mouth suddenly dry. "What… what did you want?" She whispered, her voice barely audible.

Julian took another step closer to her, and his eyes were glinting hotly, burning with the kind of intensity that made it impossible to look away. "I didn't get enough of you." He said, his voice a husky growl. "I needed to see you again."

Sophia's breath quickened, her body reacting to his words. "But our parents, my dad, your mum… are awake."

She protested weakly, knowing how futile her words were even as she spoke them.

"They are in their room." Julian replied, his hand reaching out to cup her cheek. "And they won't hear a thing… unless we make too much noise, babygirl."

A shiver ran down her spine as he leaned in, his lips brushing against her ear. "You like that, don't you? The danger of getting caught… the thrill of it all."

Sophia could only nod her head as his hand smoothed down to her waist.

"Yes." She whispered, the heat between them reigniting in a second.

He pushed her gently against the desk, his hands roaming over her body with a possessive hunger.

"You drive me crazy, Sophia." He muttered against her skin, his lips trailing down her neck. "I've never wanted anyone like this."

Sophia moaned softly, her hands clutching his shoulders as his lips continued their torturous descent. "Julian…" She gasped, feeling her resolve crumble.

He pulled back slightly, his eyes dark with desire. "Call me Daddy." He commanded, his voice firm and dominating.

"Daddy." She whispered, the word tasting forbidden on her lips.

His mouth crashed against hers in a fierce kiss, one that made her toes curl and her mind go blank. She was lost in the sensation, in the fire that burned between them. He lifted her onto the desk, his hands gripping her thighs, spreading them apart as he stepped closer.

Julian's fingers traced the edge of her robe, slowly pushing it up to reveal her bare thighs. Sophia shivered with anticipation as his hands traced up her skin to that most intimate of places. She could almost feel the heat from his touch, the roughness of fingers against a soft skin.

"You're so beautiful, Sophia ." He murmured, his voice filled with admiration.

"I could just sit and watch you all night."

Sophia blushed at his words, her heart fluttering in her chest. She watched as he knelt down in front of her, his eyes never leaving hers. He leaned in, his breath hot against her inner thigh as he placed a soft kiss on her skin.

Soft music filled the air as Maya glided elegantly down the aisle. The venue lights had been lowered, making the flowers glow with a magical shimmer under the gentle illumination. Julian tried to suppress another yawn as Arthur glanced at him with a curious expression. The tailors were still making final adjustments to Arthur’s suit.Even though he and Sophia were now officially together, Julian knew better than to reveal the real reason for his exhaustion. If he did, Arthur might forget all about his upcoming wedding and pummel him instead. Besides, he had learned the hard way that Arthur’s punches carried serious force. Though from the looks of it, Julian’s own hits had left a mark—the makeup artist was carefully trying to conceal a reddish bruise on Arthur’s jaw.“It’s nothing. I just didn’t sleep much,” Julian shrugged, forcing a laugh as he straightened his own jacket.“You’d better not be caught yawning in the ceremony videos. I don’t need a sleepy man ruining everything,” Arthur warned with a scoff.Julian rolled his eyes at the older man’s dramatics. “Relax, I won’t spoil your big day.”A brief silence settled between them while the stylists worked. Sophia let out a sharp gasp as she stood before the mirror. Her entire neck was marked with his passionate imprints, clearly visible. This man..."This is completely unfair, Julian!" she complained, studying the marks while her fingers traced over them. They did not sting, yet the situation still felt unjust. "The wedding is tomorrow, and you've left these all over my neck. It's going to take ages to conceal them."Julian rolled onto his stomach on the bed, gazing at her with clear satisfaction—he wore a proud expression over his creation. As she observed him, she could not look away. The sheets partially draped his sculpted physique, leaving the other half exposed and offering an excellent view of his firm backside. Sunlight poured through the open curtains, gently highlighting his form. His jaw appeared even more defined from this perspective, and his eyes sparkled like precious gems. The whole universe seemed to plot against her. Why else would every detail, including the warm glo

Julian wondered what on earth Arthur might be preparing to disclose—something that could shape the rest of his existence. The idea felt ridiculous, yet this exchange carried real weight, as long as Arthur refrained from lunging at him or unleashing a flood of accusations. He had every justification to react harshly, and Julian could only hope the man would choose restraint."Damn, I can't believe I'm actually going through with this," Arthur muttered with a heavy sigh. "I'll probably regret it soon enough."Julian stared at him, equally puzzled by the encounter. Arthur was behaving strangely.Arthur looked furious, without question, but the impending revelation did not appear tied directly to that rage. Julian struggled to capture the exact mood; Arthur seemed locked in an ongoing internal conflict while Julian sat opposite him, nursing a partially raised glass of rum.He wanted to drink the rum but remained uncertain whether the opportunity would come.Had Arthur shown any sign of pr

Julian stood watching Sophia, who remained frozen in shock, completely speechless. She simply stared at him, her mind clearly racing as she tried to determine whether this moment was real or some vivid illusion. It was undoubtedly real, yet he chose not to ease her uncertainty just yet.He hid his smile as she blinked once, then twice more. He understood her thoughts perfectly; right now, she probably believed her imagination was deceiving her.At that moment, he felt a strong urge to kiss her until her soft pink lips grew swollen, but he could not risk such a move with Arthur nearby. He still lacked full freedom to act as he wished with his girlfriend while her father was present. He had already calculated that it would require several more months."Am I dreaming?" she finally whispered. An instinctive grin spread across Julian's face. He leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to one soft cheek, then the other. They felt as delicate as rose petals."Do you still believe it's a dr
