Chapter 18: That day

Annalise and Zeno spend their day at the mall, buying tons of clothes together with their bodyguards. Some of them were scattered throughout the whole area while some were following the couple.

“Why do we have to buy all of this? We’re just going to spend a week, Zeno,” Annalise said while staring at the clothes that the cashier’s punching into the machine.

“We’ll be going to France next week, then the last one is Nome, Alaska. I think the clothes we bought are good for a three-week trip,” Zeno explained, then gave his black card to the cashier.

Annalise was just looking at Zeno and didn’t even bother to react because she was still processing what he just answered. She blinked her eyes many times, waiting for him to say that it was just a joke, but Zeno didn’t talk.

Annalise cleared her throat to get his attention, which was effective. “Are you joking?”

Zeno’s forehead wrinkled. He even raised his eyebrow, thinking why Annalise didn’t believe what he just replied to her a while ago. B
