A hint of joy crossed Jade's heart, but she soon furrowed her brows. In her previous life, Leah had broken her leg during this birthday banquet, right after the Fitzgeralds had arrived. Unfortunately, Jade had been too timid at the time and hadn't seen how the incident had occurred. This time, she had to protect her grandmother. Jade instinctively supported Leah by her arm, assisting her toward the exit.
