Alexa
The stranger’s voice howled in pain. I stopped running and turned back. My heart sank as I saw him now covered in wounds, overwhelmed. A guard held him down while the Gamma pummeled the man’s stomach.
‘He’s losing numbers!’ Mythril leapt restlessly in my mind.
I bit my lower lip as I watched the pain on the man’s face with each punch from the Gamma. The emotion inside me grew. With raging breaths, I pondered the moral decision I should choose.
Could I help him? Was I strong enough to fight them? I groaned when finally I pushed my feet to run back toward them.
‘Yes, girl! Let’s kick those asses!’ Mythril cheered.
I ran until I was close, but still at a safe distance. Amid the chaos of the fight, I paused in front of a tree. I've never done it before, but the strength in me grew larger in each second. My confidence surged up. I hugged the large tree. My arms wrapped around its trunk.
‘For those who grow, there will be wilt.’ I focused all my thoughts on the tree I was holding. The tips of my fingers dug deep into the bark, pressing my hands hard.
My energy merged with every cell of the tree, reaching down to its roots. The roots moved through the soil and emerged from the ground near the Gamma’s feet, wrapping around him like a snake. With each extension of the tree’s roots, leaves fell one by one from its branches. A storm of leaves around me swirled and blocked my vision.
As the Gamma’s feet became entangled in the roots, he screamed in pain. One of his legs turned red as the roots blocked his blood flow.
“W—what’s happening?! Dark magic?!” The guard holding the man shrieked.
When his grip weakened, the dark-haired man jerked his head back, hitting the warrior behind him in the chin and face. The second guard groaned in pain, but the dark-haired man didn’t waste a moment. He knocked him out cold.
“Coward!” the Gamma growled, transforming into a wolf. His slender wolf legs, now free from the roots.
I pushed my energy again to lengthen and tighten the roots, but exhaustion soon stopped me from holding on any longer. The leaves had all fallen, the branches had dried up, and I trembled as I released my grip on the tree.
‘Goddess! That drained me!’ Mythril panted, and I, too, collapsed to the ground, so weak I couldn’t stay upright.
My breathing was heavy, sweat dripping from my temples as if I had been caught in the rain. Just when I thought I couldn’t go on, the dark-haired man transformed into a wolf as well. But he wasn’t an ordinary wolf like the Gamma, standing on four legs.
He remained upright on two legs. His body grew multiple times in size. His tan skin now covered in thick gray fur, and his back extended to a tail that grew from the base of his spine.
He was magnificent. He was huge.
His eyes gleamed like the winter night sky, staring down at the Gamma, who now appeared small in front of him. The Gamma hesitated, but his breath still burned with the desire for battle.
In an instant, the gamma lunged, aiming to bite the man’s hand. Of course, with the huge physical difference, the Gamma was overpowered by the muscular gray arm. The gamma howled as his body was thrown into one of the trees.
The Gamma tried to charge again, but a punch with sharp claws tore through the Gamma’s skin, leaving a deep wound in his stomach. He howled in pain and could only writhe on the ground.
“Monster!” One of the guards who had regained consciousness shouted, running away in fear.
The gray werewolf then walked toward me. His breath was heavy, and I could see wounds all over his body. We simply stared at each other, and somehow, I didn’t feel afraid of him.
‘My hero…’ Mythril cooed with a long sigh.
From a distance, I heard more footsteps. It seemed the guard had called for reinforcements. The gray werewolf, without a word, wrapped his arm around my waist. The next moment, he threw me over his shoulder like a sack of flour.
“Hey! Put me down!” I protested, but the werewolf with the mint and pine scent didn’t care.
My face facing the trail we left behind while he dashed out of the crime scene. My hands gripped the thick gray fur on his back, holding on so I wouldn’t fall.
From a distance, I saw some people chase us, but the gray werewolf ran faster, more agile, avoiding trees, and easily carried me along. It didn’t take long before I couldn’t see my pursuers anymore.
“Where are we going? Were you the one who saved me from the cell?” I asked the gray werewolf.
But he remained silent, not answering me. We ran through the forest, which gradually sloped down toward a long wooden dock. There, several yachts and small boats were moored. The gray lycan stopped in front of one of the boats.
“Come on, get on this boat!” He put me down on the wooden dock.
A loud gunshot echoed in the distance, and I instinctively covered both my ears. My head ducked, my body trembling in fear. My feet froze in place, even though I was just one leap away from the boat.
“It’s okay. Come on.”
The gray lycan wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pushed my waist to stand up. I then jumped onto the boat and felt the waves sway beneath me. After that, he untied the mooring rope and jumped onto the boat, causing it to rock violently.
I slumped in a corner while he started the engine. Once the engine roared, he shifted the lever, and the small boat I was on sped away from the dock.
“Alexa!” Alpha Alastair howled from the deck.
They fired their guns again. I flinched and ducked again. But it seemed all the silver bullets missed and sank into the water.
His howl tore my heart apart. Somehow, I could feel the sorrow behind his howl. It mingled with my own chaotic sadness. The fact was, it hurt to be separated from your fated mates. Either he was kind or wicked.
AlexaMy sneakers slammed hard along the hallway of Mr. Darius Scott’s house. I could hardly believe all this. How could this cunning old man mess with things that were clearly Harlow’s rightful title? As far as I knew, Gabriel had gone into exile today. He repented, and we forgave each other. He accepted his defeat and agreed to serve his sentence. So why was his uncle still messing up my plans with Harlow?Although some servants called out to stop me, I insisted on seeing Mr. Darius. The hallway on the second floor was dim. This house filled with portraits of Mr. Darius and all the ancestors of the Scott family. The gazes in those paintings seemed to judge me and disapprove of my presence. They might have known I was about to tear this house apart. As I was about to reach the door to Mr. Darius’s study, it opened from the inside. A man I knew well walked out with a tense jaw and a flushed face.“Harlow? You’re here? Did you also get a message from Mr. Darius?” I asked him, blocking
AlexaI couldn’t believe that after so many years, I could finally learn magic again with Mrs. Geeny. All this time, Mrs. Gertrude had restricted the use of magic with baseless accusations. Now, without that woman, I was free to do whatever I wanted. My house was now squeaky clean with a younger maid hired to help Brenda. The fields and livestock were being taken care of by enthusiastic young caretakers. My relationship with Harlow was going well. Everything run as I hoped for. This time, I took the step I should have taken years ago. I sat across from Mrs. Geeny in the backyard of her cabin. An old spell book lay open on the mat, displaying various rituals that Mrs. Geeny had yet to teach me.“Do you still remember the basics of using ritual magic?” she asked.“Please explain it once more. I don’t want to be too arrogant. Besides, it’s been a long time since I studied this.” I clasped my hands in front of my chest.“Alright. Remember this well, Alexa. Magic is the technique of manipu
Alastair“Hello, Lorraine,” I greeted the woman. Her mouth opened, and she blinked. So adorable. Like a child being fed candy, her eyes immediately lit up to welcome me.“Oh, Alpha Alastair! I’m so happy to see you here. Is that for me?” Her eyes glanced at the bouquet of flowers I was holding.“Of course. For you.” I handed her the small gift filled with the fragrance of various flowers.“Thank you, Alpha Alastair. I really love this.” The woman threw herself into my embrace, wrapping her arms around my neck.Without many words, I wrapped my arms around her waist. The poor woman gave me what I had been waiting for. A passionate kiss landed on my lips. Sucking and nibbling, our tongues tangled in a fleeting illusion of desire. She moaned between our heated kisses. As we became more consumed by uncontrollable passion, I guided her inside the house. The door closed behind my back as my hands explored her body. I knew no one would disturb us, with the guards waiting outside the door.“Ar
GabrielMy legs moved uncontrollably. The sound of my jittering feet echoed like my grandmother’s sewing machine, constant and fast. Time and time again, I had to unclench my fists to relax and think about what would happen in my future.A year in prison? No longer being an alpha? Even Alexa had left me. Nothing remained except that treacherous bitch. How could she still cling to me like a weed latching onto the tree?Someone knocked on my door. I wasn’t expecting any guests, so the sound of my servant’s voice instantly ignited my anger. I snapped at the old servant. But when I saw the man who barged into my room, I shut my damn mouth.“Come on, you’re too harsh on him.” I snorted at Alpha Alastair’s comment.“What do you want? Didn’t you say you wanted to take a walk?” I asked.“That’s exactly what I’m doing. I’ve been around the Silver Moon territory. I must say, I see a lot of potential here.” Alastair smirked, and I hated seeing his smile.“Yeah, if you’re done, now get out.” I sn
AlexaHarlow’s eyes burned every inch of my skin. It was crazy because I should be wet with cold. Contrary to outward appearances, I was instead agitated by the heat that ignited the fire inside me.His hand grabbed my hand that was covering my chest. He pulled me with a gentle tug close to his body. Like invisible magic, I obeyed with small steps until I was now in his arms.“Is this real?” he asked as his thumb brushed my cheek. The scent of his body enveloped the surrounding air. Mint and pine, a scent I’d never forget. Mythril had now turned into a fiery energy that coursed through my veins with great anticipation.“What’s real?” I asked as I raised my head to him.“You. Us. Here, together with no barriers anymore. Free. It’s too good to be true.” Harlow frowned. There was a gleam of fear in his dark eyes. The sudden heavy rain in spring made me worry too. It was as if we could be separated again at any time. Somehow, I felt that there was something dark still stalking us. But I c
AlexaIt took two days for Lorraine and Mrs. Gertrude to move. They left the Dawson family home and returned to the Oswald family home on the outskirts of the village. To avoid unwanted drama, the guards escorted them during their return. There was actually a slight sense of pity for them. In the past, when they acted arrogantly towards me, I hated them so much. But seeing them in such a miserable state now, I couldn’t help but feel sorry for them.‘Ugh, can’t you make up your mind?’ Mythril sounded displeased with the pity settling on my chest.‘I can’t help it. They look miserable. They said Mrs. Gertrude cried endlessly.’ I thought while gazing at the tip of the Dawson family home’s roof from my bedroom window in Gabriel’s house.‘At least they weren’t executed,’ Mythril snorted. On the third day, Mr. Pascoe and Harlow came to pick me up. I descended to the ground floor in an emerald green dress and a small bag of clothes. Gabriel was already waiting for me downstairs.“Are you rea
Alexa“I, Alexa Dawson, from Silver Moon Pack, rejected you, Gabriel Scott. I hoped you found solace and peace upon you from Moon Goddess.” My hand squeezed Gabriel’s, which felt damp with sweat. As soon as I finished saying that, my heart pounded. As if my heart was about to burst out of my ribcage. My emotions were the same as when I jumped off a cliff. My chest burned like fire, spreading lava throughout my veins.Gabriel groaned like me. One of my hands clutched at my chest, while my fist pressed against it, hoping to lessen the pain. The veins on his neck and temples bulged. I didn’t know this could be physically dangerous for us. The pain made it difficult to breathe, as if I were drowning in a bottomless ocean.Tears streamed down my cheeks even though I tried to hold them back. Even Gabriel showed the same symptoms. We cried and howled. Zeev echoed a wave of pain that was met with the same energy from Mythril. Our two energies then displayed a silvery light so thin it was almo
AlexaI sat beside Gabriel’s bed, lost in thought. The blonde man still had his eyelids closed, his breathing steady. Two days had passed since that cursed wedding day, yet he had not regained consciousness. The wound from Harlow’s attack had a severe impact on him.It was understandable, since Harlow had torn through a vital point in his neck. If Mrs. Geeny had been late to help with the regenerative ritual, Gabriel might have died. Fortunately, he survived enough to go to the hospital.I gazed out the window into the dark night. The night had grown late, and the time showed exactly eight in the evening. I had been here for thirty minutes, observing his unchanged condition. Regardless, my bond with him compelled me to ensure his safety, even if I was slightly reluctant. While Gabriel and Harlow’s case was being discussed, Mr. Pascoe took over as acting Alpha. Until the matter of succession settled and punishment decided, nothing was certain. Even my house had to wait for the elders’
Romero“Alpha Romero, with all due respect, why were you so sure that all this was not a fabrication by two female witches?” asked Mr. Darius, still with his false bow.I reconsidered everything they had shown me during my time here. This Silver Moon Pack could be an unfriendly environment, especially for the Omegas. These elders—I didn’t know what authority they had. But judging by their behavior, they were merely old people who interfered too much in the governance. My eyelids closed as I recalled all the memories of that wolf-head necklace. A precious heirloom from my father, now completely gone after revealing the memories it saw in silence. The necklace, passed down from my grandfather to my father, was given to a woman named Diana instead of my mother. The story of a true mate who ran away from my father, driving him mad. It turned out that the woman was the sister of the elder in the Silver Moon Pack. Was that why the Moon Goddess had destined me to meet Alexa? This was a golde
