Violet's quiet entrance

Violet,

Have you seen a stray dog being caged for the first time? It looks terrified, unsettled, and desperate to escape.

Just like caged animals, I watched everyone's expressions shift as if they saw a ghost crawling out of their nightmares. Their pupils shrank, shoulders stiffened, breaths caught mid-inhale. A few even instinctively stepped back, as if my presence burned the floor beneath them.

I smirked, grabbed a glass of wine, and sat right in the seat assigned to me. The stem of the glass felt cool against my fingertips, the liquid rippling slightly from the tension filling the room.

In the meantime, I noticed the familiar woman clinging onto Sam. Her grip on his arm tightened when she sensed the change in atmosphere. Judging by the scars on her arms and brows, she was indeed someone involved with gangs. Her eyes darted, calculating, but the faint tremble along her jaw betrayed her confidence.

" What are you doing here? Violet Riverwood!" Elder Silverfang's voice came out sharp,

  • The Surrogate-in-law: The Billionaire CEO's Deception    Get the punishment he deserves

Knox,My blood pressure was high by the time I returned home. The reports were spread all over the table while I tried to make sense of everything. Not only was I forced to wipe my memories, but I also wasn’t my parents’ son?My mother was dead, and my father was some Mafia leader I had never met before? The world felt like a crashing game. Whichever path I took, something was always there, waiting to crush my soul."What did you find?" I poured a glass of whiskey, my fingers trembling slightly, and sat across from Ethan, one of my IT guys who had been helping me uncover this bitter truth. He pressed his eyewear to the bridge of his nose before turning the laptop’s monitor toward me. His eyebrows tugged together in concentration. "It is a bit tricky since she changed her entire name. But thanks to her academic certificates, I found her actual name and family background."I glanced at my mother, unconscious on the floor, tied up with a rope and tape across her mouth. Her chest rose and

  • The Surrogate-in-law: The Billionaire CEO's Deception    The real reason

While having the conversation, the head of my bodyguards informed me about Cyrus falling asleep after playing with some kids in the playground of the hotel.I thanked him since Julia couldn't contact me. However, in the depth of my mind, I really wanted to call Knox and bring him here. But certainly, lots of things needed to be handled first before meeting him."I am really nervous. I hope everything comes out okay," Erica said, laying on the bed.She looked a bit weak though. I would have taken her to my hospital if we were at home. But here, I couldn't trust anyone enough to let this woman stay alone another second."It's alright. Don't worry about it." I smiled, glancing at the door. Mirah had been out for around an hour now. Detective Bryan sent me a message earlier to discharge whenever we wanted. He had already talked to the receptionist about it.So we could stay here for a bit longer. Just not being able to talk to my son made me a little restless. She held my hand and stayed

" It's not possible!" She whispered, almost to herself, as if she was trying to make sure she heard me right. " My son died, the doctor said my son died!" She looked at me, eyes filled with tears and the desperation in her tone. She tried to stand up abruptly. But her knees gave out, almost causing her to stumble. Thankfully Mirah was standing there. She held her hand." Violet. Please... tell me. It's not possible -!"" I am sorry!" I stood up, walking to her myself. I gently let her sit down and cupped her face, " Listen to me, Erica. Calm down and tell me which hospital you gave birth in? I will dig the last bit of truth. So tell me!"She became quiet, her eyes meeting mine. A flicker of hope ran across her eyes, " Opsedale San Cecilia. It's an old hospital!" She whispered.I looked at Mirah. She didn't need me to tell anything. She grabbed her phone and walked out of the room immediately.I dragged the chair and sat close to her. The bruises on her wrists and the scars all over he

The silence was so thick that it could be cut by a knife. We stared at the very woman who was supposed to be dead by now.Although her death wasn't announced to the public because soon after her death, Silverfang just erased her existence, even I doubted Knox knew that he had an aunt who killed herself. But seeing her, the thought was too bold that she was indeed a Silverfang. She chuckled bitterly at Mirah's confusion and gently moved to the edge of the bed. Even her movements felt so graceful at this point."Yes. To the outside world and to my mother, I killed myself. But the truth was—!" She looked at me and smiled brokenly. "I was caught by my father and his people when I was almost near to death. He sent me here while announcing to the world that I killed myself. I was forced to marry one of the Mafia leaders!""So—!" I breathed. "You have been alive all these years and didn't let anyone know?" I asked, my voice softened."It's not like I didn't let anyone know, Violet!" She smil

" It's getting colder nowadays!" Mirah said and wrapped my forehead with a bandage while the car headed to the hospital. I stared at my hand. My fingers were shaking with adrenaline and disappointment.Honestly I wanted to kill one of them at least. Maybe Elder Silverfang would have been the best one. And I could have, using my power to get rid of the trace. But I knew in my consciousness, I would turn into a murderer and my child would be a child of a murderer, which I would never let happen. But knowing that they were finally caught, I felt a strong relief. Knox's parents weren't there but they wouldn't be able to run away since this country's security system had already started helping us to capture them." I really thought this would take time." Mirah gently placed the blanket on my lap, " When I was talking to Detective Nolan, we just got informed that we might capture Matilde!"I nodded since I had that plan as well. The party had opened the road freely. Now I had enough time to

  • The Surrogate-in-law: The Billionaire CEO's Deception    An unsatisfied ending

" A Bitch?" My voice was sharp but it echoed in the room like a fog of death. I grabbed her hair more tightly and pulled her up, letting everyone see her face. " Look at me!" I commanded, my voice cold, " Look at my face and tell me. Do you see that kidnapped bitch in my face!" Her lips bled, her face was bruised but yet, she looked at me sharply, her body shaking with rage and humiliation. But the moment her eyes narrowed and she met my eyes, The color of her face drained, her eyes widened and a forced breath escaped from her. She stumbled but couldn't fall since I was grabbing her hair. But in process, she hissed in pain when the heel of her shoes broke and her ankle twisted. I could see multiple colors on her face within seconds the moment she recognized this face. The very face where she stepped on, threw the food and kicked until lips were busted. And the horror in her eyes was so satisfying that I didn't even look away from her. I always imagined how she would react whe
