Emily’s point of view.
I giggle as Ben follows Laila down the hall to the gym, like a little puppy, only he's not so little. I’m left alone in the kitchen with Maddox, his laptop glued to his nose as usual, so I get up to make a start on preparing the dinner. Emptying the fridge as I pull out some chicken and vegetables. Maddox lifts his head for a second as he asks.
”Do you need a hand?”
I turn back to look at him as I reply.
