Chapter Two
In the office, the lustful moans did not stop, the two were so intense that they didn't even notice that their crime was seen by Bella, the door was open without them knowing...
“Hmmm… so good… so deep baby. Max… Max… I love you… ha… ummm…” Pearl let out sweet, seductive moans.
“I love you too, honey…” Max kissed her plump lips like a hungry animal.
Their 'war' is not over, as they continue their passionate affair in the private bathroom of their office like wild animals.
"Max, when will you finally divorce her? It's been three years, I don't want to continue like this anymore," Pearl sat discontentedly on Max's lap, showing her frustration and being coy with him.
Max couldn't resist her temptation, as he lovingly caressed Pearl's slender waist.
"I also want to divorce Bella quickly, but you know that her father is the chairman of this company, and the position I have is also thanks to him. If I divorce her, I will have to leave with nothing," Max said with a sigh, as he had told her this many times before.
Pearl pouted, wanting to cry. She didn't want to continue this clandestine relationship anymore. She loved Max and knew that he married Bella for power and prestige in her father's hands. All she wanted was for Max to have no feelings for that foolish little girl. But seeing the person she loved living with another woman made her very uncomfortable.
"So, what are you going to do then?" Pearl said.
Max kissed Pearl's lips, comforting her. "Don't worry, I don't love Bella. As long as we wait patiently for a little while longer, I will make Bella take the initiative to divorce first. Only then can we divide the assets."
Everyone in the story understood that if Max proposed a divorce first, he would leave with nothing.
Pearl wasn't entirely happy, but she was also satisfied. After all, Bella's family was wealthy, and Bella herself was just a foolish, naive person who believed in the love that Max was creating with Pearl.
As long as they waited, the NOV company would surely belong to Max.
"Did you tell that stupid girl that you'll be away on a business trip next month? It's been so long since we could be together," Pearl hugged Max and said.
Max wrapped his arms around her waist, pressing down, feeling himself getting aroused as she continued rubbing against him.
"Of course, next month is the anniversary of my wedding with Bella, but that doesn't matter as much as you do, so I told her I'll be away on a business trip. She's so foolish that she doesn't doubt anything I say," Max proudly said, as if it were his achievement.
Pearl happily kissed him, "Stay with me tonight then. I'll take good care of you, honey."
While the couple were happily chatting, Bella was feeling a mix of emotions and pain in her heart. The two people she trusted the most had betrayed her at the same time, shattering her heart. She felt betrayed, lost trust, and burdened. Instead of confronting and clarifying everything, she chose to escape from reality.
But no matter how she tried to justify it, that horrifying scene kept playing in her mind.
Bella suddenly remembered why she married Max. Before getting married, Max had pursued her passionately, despite facing pressure from her father. He never stopped saying he loved her. Sensing Max's intense love and Pearl's encouragement, Bella ignored her father's objections and married Max.
She questioned the value of love and loyalty she had given to this marriage. Negative thoughts consumed her mind, making her blame herself and wonder if she was the reason her husband sought love outside their marriage.
Perhaps those two villains also secretly cursed her as a foolish person.
Now Max has gained a significant stake in the company. Despite her anger, Bella couldn't deny that he was good at seizing opportunities.
If she hadn't suddenly come to the company today, she would never have found out that Max and Pearl had treated her like this. And soon, he'll be able to take over the company her father spent his life building.
Bella is certain that what happened between Max and Pearl today is not the first time, and during this time, she did not realize that she had grown a few centimeters taller.
Her eyes were swollen and red from crying too much, and she didn't notice the message on her phone from Max saying that he had to work late tonight and couldn't come home.
Bella lay on the bed for a long time, her tears soaking a large area on the pillow. It took a while for her to calm down and adjust her emotions. She picked up her phone and saw Max's message, which made her angry and she clenched the phone tightly.
If she hadn't discovered the terrible truth today, she would definitely believe that Max was working late at the company. What's even more ironic is that many times before, Max had said he was working late and she believed him, and trusted him blindly.
"Tonight, I won't wait for you, and I won't wait forever! You scoundrel!" Bella angrily cursed.
Bella wanted to call her father, but when she looked at his number on the screen, she hesitated and ultimately didn't make the call. This is her issue, and from the beginning, marrying Max was her decision, so this time she wants to handle it herself.
She wants him and her best friend to see that they are playing with fire and will definitely get burnt. Before dealing with those two scoundrels, Bella thinks she needs to uplift herself and be filled with determination in order to take revenge.
So she decides to go to the bar tonight.
Bella wears a revealing black dress that accentuates her seductive curves, sits in front of the dressing table, and makes herself look glamorous tonight.
"Max, you will regret cheating on me and betraying me. And Pearl, I will make you beg for forgiveness like a dog! Both of you will pay dearly for betraying me!" Bella looks at herself in the mirror, with a determined and resolute gaze.
It's time for Bella to no longer be just a wife who knows how to cook, do household chores, and wait for that unfaithful man.
The atmosphere in the bar is lively and noisy, with loud music and crazy cheers. This is a place that Bella's father would never allow her to go to, in his eyes, it's a place for immoral and dishonest people.
Normally she would listen to her father, but today was an exception. Bella went to the bar, where a super handsome bartender greeted her with a seductive and warm voice.
"An Old Fashioned, please. Thank you," Bella said, her eyes observing the people at the bar.
It seemed that tonight, she wasn't the only one feeling down.
"The night is beautiful, isn't it, madam? It's a pity that someone in sorrow can never be happy," the dreamy bartender said.
Bella didn't think that a stranger like the bartender could perceive her current mood.
"Do I show it that clearly?" Bella asked.
The bartender didn't answer. He simply smiled kindly at her. Bella suddenly thought of the people sitting next to her. None of them had a happy expression on their faces, regardless of their age. They all concealed an indescribable sadness.
The drink was finished, and Bella stared at the golden liquid with fascination. This wasn't her first time having an Old Fashioned, but it was the first time she observed it so closely.
"Tonight, I want to forget everything, just for tonight!" Bella said, but in reality, she was reminding herself.
The bartender laughed but didn't say anything.
Sipping the rich cocktail, the warmth mingling with a gentle sweetness from the sugar and the distinctive aroma of orange essence, Bella couldn't resist the delicious drink. She didn't have a high tolerance for alcohol, so she quickly became blurry.
"One more glass, please," Bella said.
"Just a moment, madam," the bartender replied.
Initially, she only came here to drink and forget everything; she had no intention of confiding in a stranger. However, she didn't know when a tall, elegant man appeared right beside her. Bella was too drunk to see his face clearly, but she knew he had a warm, slightly hoarse, and deep voice.
The masculine and seductive scent enthralled Bella, giving her the desire to get closer.
Chapter Ninety-Two"She insulted me, and you're just brushing it off?" Pearl wanted a few comforting words from him, but his indifference left her deeply dissatisfied.Max didn't look at her; he focused on his documents. With a sigh, he said, "Enough. Tonight, join me and Bella for dinner at this restaurant. She really wants you to come. She considers you her best friend, yet you treat her this way. Don't you feel guilty towards Bella?""WHAT? Max… what are you talking about? You're asking if I feel guilty towards Bella? Are you crazy? Why should I feel guilty towards her?" Pearl was furious at Max's words, unable to comprehend how he could say such things. They had been secretly involved behind Bella's back for years, even before Max and Bella got married. Together, they planned to take over Bella's father's company and intentionally made it impossible for Bella to conceive. Everything that had happened was a joint effort between Pearl and Max, not just her alone, yet now Max made it
Chapter Ninety-OneAfter the health check-up that day, the person most anxious and eagerly awaiting the results was Pearl, even though she had nothing to do with the health check-up. In contrast, Max seemed almost indifferent to it and showed clear annoyance whenever Pearl brought up the subject."Can you stop it already? I know what I need to do. Stop nagging about it all the time. Don't you find it annoying? If you have so much free time, you should focus on your own work. You know very well that the salary you receive every month is too high compared to the effort you put into your job," Max snapped irritably. He was growing increasingly fed up with this woman. Who was she to demand that he listen to her?Too troublesome!Pearl immediately retorted, "Why are you yelling at me? What did I do wrong by asking you to do this? You regretting it now? Don't forget, there's no turning back for us anymore."Of course, Max understood Pearl's words better than anyone, but he deliberately pret
Chapter Ninety (1)The Previous Night…The party had come to an end, with most of the guests having left, leaving only the staff to clean up. Max was so drunk that he was no longer conscious, and slumped over the food table despite the waitstaff's attempts to rouse him."Sir? The party is over...""Just continue with your work. He's my friend; I'll take him home," Levi said, raising an eyebrow at Max, who was asleep on the table. The male staff member immediately bowed, "Yes, sir."Levi called two bodyguards to help Max into the car. The driver was surprised, seeing his master allow someone else into the car besides Ms. Bella, moreover a drunken man.As the driver was about to take orders from Levi, he said, "I'll drive him home."In the car, it was just Levi and Max. Max was completely unconscious, sleeping in the back seat, unaware that Levi was taking him home.Seeing Max's sleeping form in the rearview mirror, Levi couldn't help but smirk. "Perhaps after tonight, I'll have to get
Chapter NinetyMax wanted to relive the sensation of last night, but he couldn’t remember anything at all—not even a blurry image in his mind. This made him even more regretful and unwilling to accept that he had made love to his wife while being completely unconscious.Just as he was about to touch Bella's chest, she gently pushed him away and spoke in a tired and somewhat coquettish tone, “Last night was enough. I can't continue anymore. Besides, you were so drunk last night that you had no control, and now I’m extremely tired and have no energy left.”Hearing his wife’s words, Max felt both happy and confused. He didn’t know how to feel about what Bella said because he couldn’t remember experiencing any of it. Did they really make love? But he couldn’t doubt her since the love marks on Bella's neck and chest, along with her exhausted state, were clear evidence of how crazy their last night had been.Seeing Max standing there lost in thought, Bella pouted and asked, “What are you th
Chapter Eighty-NineAfter Levi left the company, Pearl was extremely upset in the office. It was the first time she had been ignored and shown disdain by a man.As soon as Max returned to the office, Pearl clung to his arm and said coquettishly, "Max..."Before Pearl could finish her sentence, Max gently pushed her away and sighed, "How could you be so rude, Pearl? You can address me however you want in the company, but Levi is not just my friend; he's an important client. Thanks to him, I've been able to secure many successful projects.""I... I didn't mean to, I just thought since he's your friend, he's also my friend. I just wanted to be friendly and create a harmonious atmosphere. He didn't need to be so harsh with me." Pearl pouted, feeling she did nothing wrong, thinking Levi was being too strict and arrogant.Max didn't want to continue this topic but felt the need to make Pearl understand. "Are you delusional? Levi is your friend? Do you think you're on the same level as him?
Chapter Eighty-EightMr. James seemed to sense the unusual nature of his daughter's marriage clearly. Rarely seeing his daughter and son-in-law, and knowing that Bella did not want him to interfere in her small family to ensure her happiness and her right to decide her own fate, he had complied with her wishes. However, when Bella mentioned that she had been experiencing abdominal pain to the point of bleeding and yet Max showed no concern, Mr. James found it hard to accept such indifference.“Tell me, what’s going on between you and Max?” Mr. James tried to suppress his discomfort as he spoke to his daughter.Bella, of course, wanted to tell her father everything, but it wasn’t the right time. She simply smiled lightly and said, “Nothing is wrong, Dad. Don’t worry too much, I will handle everything myself.”“You? Handle everything yourself? Bella, I respected you and gave you the full right to make your own decisions and didn’t interfere. But look at this, married for four years and
