Chapter 5: Time Flies

As time passed by, Princess Ariya grew up more beautiful each day while Vince was becoming more attractive and distant.

At the age of six, the princess was already the darling of the crowd in their school. She was not only beautiful but she also possessed intelligence that most girls older than her age envied.

She skipped a couple of grades that she only took a year in kindergarten and now she was in the fourth grade in elementary.

The same with Vince, now a twelve-year-old was already in his last year in high school. Next year he would attend college and he planned to study overseas.

"Brother Vince, is it true?" Princess Ariya asked while pouting her cute kissable lips.

"True, what?" Vince coldly asked back.

Since she was a baby, he remained cold and distant to her adopted sister. But the princess always brushed aside his aloof character towards her. She became closer to him instead and most of the time, she had fun pestering him especially when he was busy studying in his room.

"That you will leave for the US after this semester!" she answered as she flickered her thick eyelashes and placed her snow-white tiny hands on the edge of his study desk.

Vince took a deep sigh first before he looked at Princess Ariya. He also noticed her hands still clinging to the desk.

"Yes, it's true!" he nonchalantly said as he stood up and opened the door gesturing her to leave.

"I'm busy studying. Can you please leave?" Vince said softly but with a firm tone.

"There are many good universities here. Why do you have to study in another country?" Princess Ariya stated instead as she climbed on his bed and leaned on the headboard.

Vince was annoyed with her action when she completely ignored his words. Rather than answering her pestering questions, he walked towards her and carried her effortlessly. Princess Ariya was stunned that she wrapped her hands around Vince's neck worried that she might fall.

"I am scared!" she softly whimpered which made him frown.

Vince may be just twelve years old but he was a tall person. That's one reason why the basketball coach chose him as one of his varsity players. The other one, he was excellent.

"When I said leave my room, leave my room! Do you understand?" he sternly uttered as he walked outside of his room while carrying his six-year-old adopted sister.

When they reached the front door, he hastily put her down and locked the door leaving Princess Ariya sulking as she looked up at the closed door in front of her.

She stomped her feet with annoyance and knocked at the door constantly. Vince who continued reading a literature book got irritated to the core.

"She is just six. How can she knock at the door that loud!" he asked himself as he rose from his seat again.

"What do you want?" he roared as he looked down at her.

Princess Ariya got startled that her shoulders bounced up. When she saw that her brother's face was dark, she cried out loud. Her mouth was wide opened with strings of saliva in between her lips.

"Sshh! Why did you suddenly cry? Stop that!" Vince squatted as he covered Princess Ariya's mouth. He also looked around to see if somebody saw them but it was a good thing that all of the people in the mansion were busy.

"You are angry at me. I just don't want you to leave our house. You don't care about me. You're a bad brother!" Princess Ariya exclaimed as she sniffed in every word. She also covered her eyes with the back of her tiny fists.

"Could you quiet down? I am studying here. I have an exam tomorrow!" he roared louder instead.

Princess Ariya cried even louder. "You will fail in your exam. I swear, you will fail!" she cursed Vince out of anger.

"Enough!" he yelled which made the princess stopped from crying but she also sternly stared at him.

"Am I the reason why you are leaving? she asked then in a calm and serious tone.

Vince felt like he was mesmerized by her deep stare that he couldn't reply well to her simple question.

"No! You are not the reason!" he gently answered just to stop her from crying.

"Really? I believe you!" she happily exclaimed as she wrapped her little hands on his neck again.

Vince had no choice but to babysit Princess Ariya for a while. He carried her and they both went inside his room.

He sat on his study chair while his little sister sat on his lap. He held Princess Ariya's back tight so that she wouldn't fall.

"Brother, I am sorry. Tomorrow you will pass all your exams!" Princess Ariya retracted her curse a while ago as she cupped Vince's face in her cute tiny hands.

While flickering her eyelashes, Vince couldn't help but smile.

"Okay, thanks! Now, be quiet, alright? I need to concentrate on this!" he gently uttered.

Princess Ariya just nodded as her deep gaze was fixed on him.

.

Meanwhile, in the stream...

Sira was watching them on the water again. When she heard Princess Ariya's cries, she thought she was in trouble.

But when she saw that Vince and she were together, she heaved a sigh of relief.

"Mommy, I am done with my homework!" Ira called her attention from the door frame of their house.

Sira got up and turned around immediately. She strode towards her and checked the notebook she was holding.

"You have some mistakes with the dates of the history of wolves and vampires. Study them again!" she firmly commanded.

"Okay!" Ira just obeyed casually.

Since she was molded by Sira, she was like a robot when it came to her. But she was like a natural human when it came to other people.

Sira just watched her every movement. She was satisfied with Ira's development each day. She could copy the wolf's characters' well.

The only problem was she couldn't transform into a wolf since she was just mud.

Tomorrow, her next lesson to Ira would be the speed of running and jumping. Although this was only applied to real wolves for they could change their image, she still needed to learn it.

She was only a decoy but she must be the strongest one to portray the princess' personality and traits well.
