028: CAN YOU HANDLE IT?

ARYA

Daxton peeked down at me through thick eyelashes, his irises glowing softly. Kneeling there in between his legs, I felt like I'd scattered the rest of my dignity into the wind. My desperation had led me to my own rock bottom. Still, why did my heart race as I gazed up at him from my position in between his legs?

No...wait...

In between his legs...

Shit.

He wasn't going to ask me for something obscene, was he?

There was no way he would...right?

"Now, entertain me," he said and my heart dropped.

Entertain him?

I stared, dumbfounded, my brain glitching as I tried to figure out what the hell that meant. It was bad enough that I was already teetering on the edge of a full-blown anxiety spiral. Now he was giving me nothing to work with?

He leaned back slightly, his arms resting casually on the chair's armrests like a dark king awaiting a performance.

I gulped, my gaze trailing from his face down to his toned chest peeking from his deep blue silk shirt and...

My throat went dry when my gaze landed on his crotch area. Holy hell.

Even through his pants, he was...huge. Why was he erect already?

No, wait...did I accidentally turn him on when I sat on his lap?

Heat flooded my cheeks, and I immediately looked away, my entire body buzzing with alarm.

This was spiralling out of control way too fast.

"Arya?" Daxton's deep voice pulled me out of my thoughts, and I looked up at him immediately.

He arched a dark brow, a blank look on his face.

I took a deep breath, trying to regain my composure. This wasn't the time to panic. I needed to think and act. My life depended on it.

He wanted me to entertain him? Fine.

I straightened my spine slightly, my gaze clashing with his. If I was going to play this game, I had to stop being timid and start acting like the woman who could bring a tribrid alpha to his knees.

"Entertain you?" I echoed, letting my voice drop an octave, laced with delicate seduction. "I can do that."

He tilted his head, intrigued but guarded.

I let my hands trail slowly up his thighs, not touching anything sensitive. Not yet. Just skimming over the dark fabric, feeling the heat of him beneath. His muscles tensed under my fingertips. A flicker of surprise flashed in his eyes, but he quickly masked it behind his usual impassive facade.

But I saw it.

I leaned in just a little, enough for my breath to kiss his thigh, and whispered, "Would you like me to dance for you? Or sing again? Or..." I let the sentence hang there, refusing to look away from him.

He didn't speak.

Instead, he watched me like a hawk. Every shift in my posture seemed to interest him more than the last. His control was terrifying... and oddly electrifying.

But I was determined now. I would make him crack.

"You act like you're in control," I murmured. "But your body's already betraying you."

His eyes flashed, a dark storm brewing in their depths as his breath hitched.

"You think you can break me with commands, but here I am... on my knees, and you're the one struggling to breathe."

That earned me a sharp inhale.

Still, he said nothing.

Biting my lower lip, I trailed the tips of my fingers closer to the bulge in between his legs.

I didn't know what I was doing, but at this point, I was merely following my instincts.

His muscles tightened when my palm brushed over his crotch.

Swiping my tongue over my bottom lip, I slowly unbuckled his belt. "Arya," he warned thickly.

I swallowed hard.

Once I'd wrenched his belt free, I leaned even closer, my breath fanning his crotch. My pulse thundered in my ears, adrenaline surging in my veins.

When I took hold of his zipper with my teeth, he hissed under his breath, grabbing me by the back of my head.

"What are you doing?" he roused, his chest heaving. I smirked.

"You asked me to entertain you. You can't say no," I whispered.

And just like that, a manic sparkle ignited in his eyes like a switch had just been turned on.

"Go ahead then. Let's see what you've got," he drawled, and my breathing quickened, heat curling in my guts.

There was no going back now.

Sliding the zipper down, my throat constricted when his length sprang free.

'You can do this, Arya,' I thought, my heart threatening to explode as I reached for it, wrapping my fingers around the girth.

"Can you handle it or...?"

He let out a mix of a grunt and a groan as I moved it into my mouth, massaging gently.

At first, I struggled, trying not to gag or choke to death, but eventually, I adjusted quickly.

He cursed under his breath, throwing his head backwards when I wrapped my lips around the head and sucked.

His fingers tightened in my hair as I bobbed my head, slowly stroking up and down from the base.

At this point, he'd grown a lot bigger, his veins protruding along his thick length.

When he moaned, I clamped my thighs together, my core becoming wet.

Finally, his body tensed up, and he let out a low, slow moan, shooting his cum into my mouth.

When he opened his eyes, a dark smirk tugged at his lips. "I didn't think you had that in you," he said, and I rose to my feet on shaky legs, hoping he wouldn't sense my arousal.

"I have fulfilled my deal," I blurted out and hurried to the door and out of it, wiping my mouth with the back of my hand. He didn't stop me, but I felt the overwhelming urge to vanish into thin air.

My breathing was ragged by the time I made it to my room, slamming the door shut behind me. My knees gave out, and I slid down the door, clamping a hand over my mouth.

What the hell did I just do?

A knock on the door of my room had me jolting. Bewildered, I rushed to my bathroom to splash water on my face. I was convinced that my face had turned beetroot red.

"Arya? I know you're in there!" I heard Maya yell, and I groaned.

I'd only managed to pull off my earlier stunt because I'd accidentally stumbled upon Maya watching something similar on her phone.

Perhaps I should thank her after all. Groaning in annoyance, I straightened, releasing my hair from its bun.

Sluggishly, I headed back to the door of my room and pulled it open. Maya wheeled herself in.

"What happened? I remember passing out because I was in a lot of pain. You gave me something to drink—" Her voice trailed off when she really looked at me.

"Good goddess, what happened to you?" She asked, and I shook my head, reaching behind me to unzip my dress.

"Don't ask."

She blinked, a puzzled expression on her face. "Was I poisoned?"

I released a sigh, my dress pooling around my feet.

"You were dying. Thankfully, I found the antidote," I told her, and her frown deepened.

"Just like that? By the way, where did you get that dress? It's stunning," she said, and I shrugged, sinking onto the bed.

"Honestly? I don't know. I found it in my closet," I told her.

"The antidote...how did you find it?" Maya asked, moving closer to me with a worried look on her face.

I buried my face in my pillow, squeezing my eyes shut. “It’s a long story…”

An image of Daxton’s arousal sneaked into my mind, and I clamped my thighs together, frustration sizzling inside of me.

“What’s going on with you today?” My sister sounded suspicious, and knowing her, I had a feeling that it wouldn’t take long before she discovered the truth.

“Nothing,” I mumbled.

“You saw someone’s dick?” She blurted out, and I choked on my own saliva, my head shooting up.

She had an evil smirk on her face now.

“That’s not true!” I scowled, and her smirk widened.

“Or…did someone touch you…?”

“No!”

“Okay… you touched someone?”

“Maya! Gods, no!”

My cheeks were burning at this point, and I was embarrassed. I couldn’t bring myself to admit that she was not very far from the truth. How could I?

How could I tell her that I was fraternizing with our enemy in the name of forcing him to lower his guard?

All of a sudden, a loud voice cut through the awkward silence. It was coming from the passageway.

“Anessa!”

I exchanged a bewildered glance with my sister. Then I eased out of bed, quickly slipping on a pair of joggers and a T-shirt.

“Anessa!” The voice yelled again.

Maya and I rushed out of my room, curious about what was going on. But the moment we did, I saw a familiar face heading in our direction.

Lucien.

He paused, his eyes widening when he saw me. Before I could figure out what was happening, he was standing in front of me, wrapping his arms around me. I could feel him trembling. Not from fear…but relief.

How strange.

“Anessa, it’s really you,” he rasped, and my eyes widened.

This had to be some sort of mistake.

ARYA "I'm offended by that look on your face. Did you really think I was dumb?" Daxton said, and I blinked at him, my mind reeling. "If you knew the truth all along, why...why did you keep me alive?" I asked, and he sighed. "You don't realize it, do you?" I frowned, blinking in confusion. "Realize what?" He stared at me for a moment. Then he straightened, wincing slightly as his hand hovered over his wound. "The hatred that you feel is not entirely yours," he stated. The more he spoke, it felt as though I was spiralling further into confusion. Nothing made sense to me anymore. "If it's not entirely mine, what is it?" The wound on his chest sealed up, and he turned away from me. I watched him as he sank into his chair, his intense gaze fixed on me. "You must have heard rumours about my curse," he stated. I gulped. He was cursed? This powerful mountain of a man was cursed? It sounded like the most absurd thing I'd heard in a long time. But if he was really cursed, how doe

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    030: DO IT

ARYA I saw the terror in his eyes when I fell. I didn't think he could feel fear, but there it was…raw and open. Lying there in his arms with all of the chaos unfolding, I understood one thing. I was the tribrid alpha's weakness. Seducing him didn't matter. I could hear the sound of violence and the pounding of feet from a distance. But nothing was clearer than the sound of Alpha Daxton's voice as he pulled me into his arms, whispering gentle words of comfort under his breath. The world was fading into a dull grey when he rose to his feet while carrying me in bridal style. And then everything went black. When I awoke again, I felt as though I was floating on clouds, numb to the sensations in my body. But he was right there by my side, holding my hand. Daxton. There was a shadow of grief hanging over his features, and there were dark circles under his eyes. I wanted to ask him why he was so bothered that his enemy was down, but sleep whisked me away again. I stirred awake once mor

DAXTON Lucien was at it again. He was so expertly gnawing at my nerves and pissing me off. Who the hell told him about Arya's resemblance to Anessa? I didn't need him hovering around my estate because of my mate. If he angered me well enough, I just might kill him. It was bad enough that he had disrupted my mood. "Lucien," I warned through gritted teeth as I approached him and a clueless Arya, barely restraining my claws from elongating. When he pulled away to look at her face, I placed an arm between them, shoving the bastard away from my mate. Arya's face turned red when her gaze met mine, and I couldn't resist the smirk that came on. After all, not too long ago, she'd been crouched in between my legs... entertaining me. "Why didn't you tell me about her?" Lucien demanded, and I shook my head, irritated. "First of all, I'm not obligated to report anything to you. We hate each other, remember?" I prodded him in the chest, his expression turning sour. "Secondly..." Arya beat me

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    027: KNEEL

ARYA Earlier that morning. I was awoken by a thud on my window. I sat up immediately, already reaching for the knife under my pillow. Easing out of bed, I crept towards the window, ready to strike. But all I found was the same folded piece of paper. Another freaking message. Cursing under my breath in annoyance, I picked it up and unfolded it. Dread settled in my guts when I read its contents. 'Just to make this fair, I should tell you what I intend to do. One of us will fail, and the other will succeed. Whoever wins gets to live. I'll be seducing the tribrid alpha, and if I get him to yield to me, you're going to die. Good luck, fellow assassin.' My throat constricted, and I sank to my knees, burying my face in my hands. Seduce him? I didn't have any experience with men. How was I supposed to pull it off without raising his suspicions? Now, even my life depended on this, what if I fail? ...Back to the present... I stared at Alpha Daxton for a moment, uncomfortable with his fi

  • The Tribrid Alpha’s Nemesis    026: DON’T RESIST IT

DAXTON There was no attacker in sight. Not even a bullet. Still, I was so sure I'd heard a gunshot. Before I could dwell on this thought for much longer, Sallie rushed out into the garden with a yellow umbrella and a soaked paper in her hand. She handed it over to me, her brows furrowed deeply with worry. "Someone placed it by the window in the kitchen. There was no break-in, though," she said, placing the umbrella over my head. Written on the damp paper with black ink were the words: Give up the moonstone or she dies again. Arya's intense gaze met mine, a frown creasing her brows. "She...as in me?" "Whoever they are, they must know of your resemblance to Anessa," I pointed out, and her expression darkened. Threats never got to me. If this person wanted to confront me, why hide behind a wet paper? "Could it be your visitor, Lucien..." she said, and I shook my head, handing the paper over to Sallie. "If you were truly Anessa's reincarnation, he would be pleased," I told her and
