"You're talking to me like that? You bastard!" Emma's mother-in-law tried to slap her again, but Emma was too quick. She caught her hand, her eyes flashing with defiance. "I told you before, don't dare touch my face!" Emma warned, her voice firm.

With a swift motion, Emma threw her mother-in-law's hand back, a decision that shocked the older woman. She stumbled backward, nearly falling to the floor if not for Kayden, who rushed in to catch her.

Kayden's anger was palpable, radiating from every pore. His eyes blazed with fury, his fists clenched at his sides as if he was barely restraining himself from punching Emma. The look in his eyes was one of pure irritation, a mixture of disbelief and growing rage.

"How dare you?" Kayden growled, his voice low and menacing. "How dare you stand up to my mother like that?"
