Oliver’s POV

She was laughing again—soft and light, the kind of sound that tugged at something deep in me I didn’t know still existed.

Her cheeks were tinged pink, her eyes glassy but bright, her entire body sinking further into the velvet armchair like she had finally allowed herself to breathe. She looked... happy. Free. A stark contrast from the guarded woman who had arrived weeks ago with pain tucked behind every smile.

I couldn’t stop looking at her.

And I was trying—I really was. Because the lines between what was real and what was pretend had blurred so much lately, I wasn’t sure if I was still protecting her or falling for her.

Her fingers fumbled slightly as she placed the empty glass on the table beside her.

“That was… wow,” she murmured, giggling. “That’s three, right?”

I smiled faintly. “Three and a half, technically.”

She tilted her head, eyes narrowing playfully. “You keeping score on me, Mr. Sinclair?”

“I keep score on everything,” I replied, leaning back slightly, my e

  • The Twin's Secret: A Billionaire's Tempting Proposal   Chapter 202

Daphne's POV I knelt on the cottage floor, my wrists burning from the rope Xavier had tied, my heart pounding as Daisy stood over us, her face twisted with anger. Oliver was beside me, his hands bound, his knees pressed into the hardwood, his eyes fixed on Daisy, who was alive, her new face a stranger’s but her voice unmistakably my sister’s.Xavier stood nearby, holding the pistol, his expression cold, his words about us ruining Daisy’s life still ringing in my ears. Lucas and two other men stood by the door, their faces blank, ready to follow Xavier’s orders. The air was thick with tension, and I felt trapped, helpless, as Daisy’s pain poured out, her belief in Xavier’s lies driving every word.“You betrayed me,” Daisy said, her voice shaking as she glared at Oliver, her hands clenched into fists. “You let them say I was dead, let her take my place.” She pointed at me, her eyes wet with tears. “You raised my twins with her, lived my life, while I was alone, forgotten.”Oliver shook

Xavier's POV I pulled up to the cottage just before seven, the river’s hum steady in the quiet evening. Daisy had done her part, luring Daphne here under the guise of a surprise trip, and I’d seen the text from Lucas confirming he was nearby, ready to step in if needed. My plan was coming together—Daphne was inside, Daisy was ready to confront her, and Oliver would follow, drawn by Daisy’s call. I’d spent months fueling Daisy’s anger, convincing her that her sister and husband had stolen her life, and now it was time to make them face her. The pistol I’d given her was for control, not killing, but her bitterness worried me. I had to keep her focused, keep her from unraveling everything.I stepped inside, locking the door behind me, and found Daisy standing over Daphne, who was kneeling on the floor, her hands tied behind her back with the rope I’d brought. Daisy held the pistol, her new face tight with anger, her blonde hair loose without the Vera wig. Daphne’s eyes were wide, tears

Daphne's POV “Hold on…it can't be. Daisy?” I said, my voice breaking. “No, that’s impossible. You… you’re gone. You had an accident.”She laughed, a bitter sound, her eyes burning. “Gone?” she said. “Yeah. I'm sure of it. You were comatose, your face…it was disfigured. How come? You were unconscious then all of a sudden, you went missing.”No. This has to be a dream. I must be dreaming because how is this Daisy? “You're as foolish as I thought.” She said, shaking her head. She pulled a stool close and sat down, crossing her legs above her ankle.“Nice try, but you don't look anything like my sister. She's my twin, if you don't know.” I managed to say.“Your sister?” She scoffed,“I was in a coma, and you all moved on. You took my place, my name, my family. You’re living my life, and I’m here, forgotten.”I shook my head, tears stinging my eyes, my mind racing to understand. “Daisy, I didn’t know,” I said, my voice pleading. “We thought you were dead. We’ve been looking for you, I s

  • The Twin's Secret: A Billionaire's Tempting Proposal   Chapter 199

Daphne's POV I was in the kitchen, stirring a pot of soup for dinner, when my phone buzzed on the counter. The twins were upstairs with Brittany, their laughter drifting down, and Oliver was still at work, not due home for another hour. The past few days had been heavy, with Mr. and Mrs. Anderson’s tearful goodbye and their plea for news about Daisy’s body still weighing on me. I was trying to focus on the present, on the twins and my new friendship with Vera, who’d become a bright spot in all the gloom. Her call lit up my screen, and well…speak of the devil.I smiled, wiping my hands on a towel before answering. “Hey, Vera,” I said, my voice warm. “What’s up?”“Hey, Daisy,” she said, her voice light but with a strange edge, like she was holding something back. “I’ve got an idea. How about a surprise trip tomorrow? Just you and me, somewhere special. I promise it’ll be fun.”I leaned against the counter, curious. “A surprise trip?” I said, my smile widening. “Where to?”“That’s the

Xavier's POV Daisy paced the living room, her short brown wig gone, her blonde hair loose and messy. She’d been restless all day, her anger sharper since her spa day with Daphne yesterday. I sat on the couch, watching her, my phone on the table showing the camera feed to make sure we were alone. Her bitterness toward Daphne and Oliver had grown with every meeting as Vera, her new face hiding her identity perfectly, but I could see she was ready to act, ready to make them face her. My plan was working—she was mine, her anger mine to direct—but I had to keep her from moving too fast, from ruining everything. She stopped pacing, her eyes sharp as she turned to me, her voice firm. “I’m done waiting, Xavier,” she said. “I’m ready to confront them. Daphne, Oliver, all of them. I want them to know I’m alive, to see what they did to me.”I leaned forward, my hands clasped, keeping my tone calm. “I hear you,” I said. “You’ve done great as Vera, getting close to Daphne, learning about her life

Daphne's POV Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were leaving for Scotland today, their visit for the gala now over, and I felt a knot in my stomach as I helped them pack their bags in the guest room. They’d come hoping to support my performance, but also desperate for any news about Daisy, their daughter, whose body was still missing from the clinic. I carried their suitcase downstairs, where Oliver was waiting in the living room, his hands in his pockets. The twins, Dahlia and Delilah, were playing nearby, their laughter soft but a stark contrast to the tension in the room. Mr. Anderson was checking his phone, his face lined with worry, while Mrs. Anderson folded a scarf, her eyes red. “Daphne,” she said, her voice soft as she looked up, “thank you for having us. It meant a lot to see you dance.”I set the suitcase down, my throat tight. “I’m glad you were here,” I said, managing a smile. “It… it felt like Daisy was with us, in a way.”Mrs. Anderson nodded, her lips trembling. “We hoped there’
