Daniel's POV

The next morning, I waited at the small café near the edge of town. I stirred my coffee absently, barely noticing the gentle clink of the spoon against ceramic. My thoughts were far from the warm drink in front of me. They were consumed by the pictures Jonah had promised to bring—photos that might finally solve the mystery gnawing at me since I saw “Daisy” at the ballet theatre.

When Jonah walked in, I almost did a double take again. Clean-shaven, crisp shirt tucked into ironed jeans, and not a trace of the slouchy, defeated man I once knew. His hair was trimmed neatly, and he even smelled like citrus cologne. I stood and greeted him with a surprised grin.

“Damn,” I chuckled, giving him a firm handshake. “You look… different.”

He smiled sheepishly. “Rehab, therapy, working out. It’s been over a year of trying to fix everything I destroyed.”

I nodded, genuinely impressed. “I’m proud of you, man. Seriously. You’ve come a long way.”

Jonah sat down and pulled out a worn fold

Alex's POV On Sunday morning, 7:28 am.I woke up to my phone ringtone, it was my friend, Jude. I rose from the bed, pieces of clothing from last night's adventure strewn on the floor. Gina was still sleeping peacefully and I wouldn't want to wake her.“Hey man, what's up?”“You're still asleep? By this time? That's surprising.”“It's surprising for me too. I can't remember the last time I slept so well.” I mumbled, scratching my hair.“It seems you had a good time last night…” Jude teased.“Why did you call? I'm not ready for you this morning.” I said, diverting the conversation he was trying to bring up.“You'll give me the full details soon. I wanted to remind you about the party this evening.” he announced.“Of course, I won't forget it. I can't miss your house warming party for anything. Gina and I will be there by 8pm.” “Alright then. It'll be my honor to meet your wife in person.” He said with a snicker.“What's funny about that?” “I'm laughing because you're blushing. You're

Daphne's POV “Alexander! This…I didn't see it coming.” I mused.“You've not seen the best yet. Come with me.” He held out his palm and I joined it with mine.I went into the elevator, a mischievous smile on Alex's lips. Who knows what he is up to now?As we stepped out of the elevator, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. But as the doors slid open, revealing a stunning penthouse apartment, I gasped in wonder. The first thing that caught my eye was the breathtaking view of the lake. The penthouse was situated on the top floor of a sleek, modern building, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered a clear view of the sparkling water. As I turned to Alex, I saw that he was watching me with a pleased smile on his face. "Surprise," he said, his eyes crinkling at the corners.I smiled back at him, feeling grateful for the thoughtful gesture. "It's beautiful," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. The penthouse was decorated in a modern style, with shiny hard

Daphne's POVAlex turned to start at me in surprise, the two men stared at each other in disbelief.“Babe, please be calm. These men are not…” Alex pleaded, grabbing my wrist.“I'll handle this.” I reassured.“How much is the said amount? I enquired?“Five Thousand dollars,” Patrick said.“Just five thousand dollars? You dare to embarrass my husband because of such paltry sum?” They were obviously shocked, both from my tone and my actions.“Lana!” Lana came running inside immediately.“Yes ma'am.”“Get my cheque book.” I ordered. In few seconds, she brought it with my ball pen.I scribbled the amount into the piece of paper, tore it out and threw at them.“This is a check of five thousand dollars. Now get out before I do something harsh!” I commanded.“Thank you Ma'am.” They were about to leave when I called them back.“Hold on! Lana, go and call Bruno.” I instructed Lana. When Bruno arrived, he first looked at the men, then at me.“ I don't even want to see these men in my house, any

Daphne's POV I had a quick bath and in less than two hours, Lana helped me to get dressed. I wore a big flowery gown with cowboy hat and took my sunglasses too.By the time I finished, Alex was already waiting for me at the sitting room.“I know I didn't take much of your time. I tried to be very fast.” I chirped.“Is this what you call fast? You took up to two hours” he said, brushing imaginary lint away from my gown.“Well, I'm a lady. A lady is never late, note that.” I smirked.“Noted, Ma'am. You look stunning by the way. In as much as you're dressed casually. I feel like I'm overdressed.” “No. You're good. Let's go to the hospital.” I remarked.“Do you have other plans for today?” He asked as we were heading to the garage.“Not yet. I plan to rest as much as I can. It all depends on whenever we return from the hospital.” I said.“Which car should we use today, Baby?” We were standing at the entrance to the garage.“Let's just go with the Bugatti. It doesn't really matter, right

Daphne's POV It had only been two days, but everything about me was beginning to shift—my body, my routine, my thoughts… and maybe even my soul.Every morning now began with the same ritual: I’d wake up before the twins stirred, change into my new workout set—carefully curated by Oliver’s personal stylist—and head straight to the home gym where a soft playlist of classical music played in the background. My days of lazy mornings, skipped breakfasts, and self-neglect were behind me. I had made a decision. If I was going to live as Daisy… no, *if I was going to live for myself*, then I would do it fully. And that meant taking care of my body, my posture, my image, and every small detail Daisy once perfected without effort. This wasn’t just a disguise anymore. It was a reinvention. The diet had been hard at first. I missed sugar—desperately. But the in-house chef prepared every meal to fit a clean, energy-rich, and ballet-focused diet. Lean protein, leafy greens, hydration drinks infuse

  • The Twin's Secret: A Billionaire's Tempting Proposal   Chapter 108: The calm after the storm

Daphne's POV The living room was bathed in soft amber light from the chandelier above, casting gentle shadows on the cream walls and deep velvet drapes. The atmosphere should have been peaceful—warm even. But I couldn’t relax. Not with the way my heart was still rattling inside my chest like a prisoner begging for mercy. The board had spoken. The vote was final. I had to dance.I sat curled into the corner of the couch, knees hugged tightly to my chest, a throw blanket draped loosely around my shoulders even though the room wasn’t cold. The weight of the decision pressed heavily on me. I could feel it in my bones, in my stomach, in the tight coil of panic that hadn’t unknotted since morning.Brittany sat opposite me, legs crossed, her chin resting on her palm. She looked thoughtful, her brows drawn in concern but her lips set with determination.Jade paced the length of the room like she was calculating a war strategy. Her heels clacked softly against the polished floor, echoing like
