Blake

Ivy looked scared, and her grandmother did not look happy to see her, which felt weird. Did she hate Ivy?

"I just...I wanted to talk to you."Ivy tried to cover her sadness with a smile.

"Well, phones are there."Her grandmother answered sarcastically.

“True. When was the last time you ever picked up when I called?” I could feel Ivy's hurt through our bond, but reaching out for her was a bad idea. I wanted to turn around and leave. I had a bad feeling about this and felt even worse that this was my idea.

“You could have sent a letter.” She offered.

“Right, or I should have sent a bird, it would have been better .” Ivy rolled her eyes.

“Do not roll your eyes at me, young lady.” She scolded, and Ivy didn’t respond. Suddenly, she moved aside and offered us in.

“What do you want to talk about?” She asked, motioning for us to sit at the kitchen table.

Everything in the house seemed spotless; it was like there was no one living there. It looked like one of those homes that could us

BlakeWhen I got down to dinner, I found Ivy. This time, she was in the kitchen, kneading dough for bread. She was a bit of a mess again, but at least only her hands. Everyone looked so happy for the attention. They loved her. So, I said nothing. I said enough for one day. My mother suddenly was across from me with a stern look. Her voice came out as a hiss as she asked, “Are you making your mate work in the kitchen?”“I have quickly learned that no one can make Ivy do anything.” I smiled at her, grabbing bread from the table. “Or stop her from doing something she wants to do.”“Quite the challenge then.” She smiled back, changing her mind about the situation. My father sat down next to her, kissing her cheek. “Which I expected. That she would be a challenge.”“I should have expected it, too.” I looked down at my plate and then back at my mother. “She made me breakfast this morning.”“Did she?” My father raised an eyebrow.“I think she made just about every breakfast food you could as

Blake“Why is she upset?” I asked Rick.“I think that one was all you.” He said. “I would have paid to see the look on all those bitches faces when they picked up their pups covered in paint.”“All I meant was I need to know who I'm going to have to appease to clean up her literal mess.” Why was everyone suddenly so sensitive?“I don’t think she wants you to. I think she was quite proud of herself for pissing them off.”“You wanted her to be happy here, to feel safe and part of things? I guess this is her way of doing it.”“Then I will not do anything to take it away from her.” He was right. I needed to let her be. As long as she wasn’t going on a killing spree, there wasn’t much harm in what she did, other than to my ego. Over time, I could steer her towards other things, but that could wait. At least she didn’t seem to want to run away anymore.“You better not.” Rick threatened me. “Cause I have to spend my time protecting her. I want that to be as pleasant as possible. ”"Okay,"I s

IvyAfter pounding the bag for over two hours, I walked around the territory to continue investigating what everyone had done all day. It was hard, but I tried to forget what had happened in the locker room as I walked around. I didn’t care that Syyler was dead, but I was worried about what she knew. The kids at the school were outside playing and being very loud about it. It knocked my thoughts out of my head, so I couldn’t be mad about it. I watched them momentarily before one of them was suddenly there next to me. “Do you want to play with us?”“What are you playing?” I asked the kid. She was maybe six. Her baby blonde hair was pulled into a small ponytail on the top of her head, and she had light hazel eyes.“We are playing tag. Do you know how to play?” She was a little shy by nature, but tried hard to be brave as she spoke to me. Not that I thought I was scary, but perhaps I was to her. “What is your name?” I asked her. “Ava.” She answered, looking down at her feet.“Ava, ma

  • The Underworld Luna   Chapter Thirty six

IvyWell, that was just a pathetic waste of my time. I loved cooking and doing for people made me feel good but I felt like I just received a blow to my chest. My friends had always really liked my cooking. I guess wolves do not. Then I got sad. There was so little here that seemed to mean anything. Like, what the hell did these people do all day? Blake and Rick would disappear into the office for hours. The other mates hid in their rooms or sat around drinking or smoking. They seemed very good at getting pregnant. But still drank and smoked while their fetuses struggled to grow in such a hostile environment. It was weird to watch, and I wanted to smack them. They didn’t even take care of their children. Sorry, I should say their pups.I wouldn’t be opposed to it if they did other things, but they don’t. I’m not shaming people who put their kids in daycare to work or even to have some peace at home for a while. But these women were lazy. Trophy wives, I guess? I should shut up and enj

BlakeI woke up to the smell of bacon. One thing I very much love in the morning, but the smell has never wafted into my room before. I reached over, realizing I was alone. Frowning, I rolled out of bed to shower. The water hit me hard and briefly shocked my body as it warmed up. By the time I was done, all I smelled was food, which made me realize how hungry I was. Maybe Ivy had been starved and had stuff sent up?When I almost reached the door of our room, I realized she was in the kitchen, actually cooking. I hugged her from behind and kissed her cheek. “What are you doing, Darling?”“Making breakfast?” She seemed confused about why I was asking.“Sure, okay. The better question is why?”“Because we have to eat?” Then she waved me off to get back to work.“Sweetheart, they have people who I pay to do these things.” I reminded her. Putting things on plates, she held them out to me and asked, “Are you saying you don’t want it?”"No of course,I want your food made by your precious han

Ivy I couldn't sleep; the thought of being relaxed was not happening. All of this was still new for me, and I was trying my best to fit in. It was a relief that Blake was asleep, so I could stop pretending. His thought was that being with him was safer than out there, but it was hard to believe when half of his warriors wanted me dead.I will admit I was focusing on those threatening me and not on those who were a lot of fun to fight. Kire was the youngest of the warriors out there and had little ego during our fight. He was the one I yelled at when we were out at the mall. I apologized, and he brushed it off. He was strong but needed to learn to hide his punches. Once I gave him the tip, he expertly incorporated it. The attention I gave him kept making him blush. It was going well until his mate showed up. She did not appreciate the hug I gave him after I pinned him. I understood. I had some of that possessive energy about Blake that she felt about her mate. It was maddening to rea
