Twenty Seven

Asher’s POV

“Where the hell is he?”

That question was what woke me a week later, May was gone. That reminded me, that I still haven’t signed the divorce papers myself, but I would surely get around to it.

I groaned as I opened my eyes, cursing softly when I realized that I hadn’t closed the curtains in my room. Turning around on the bed, I listened again to the voice I had heard from my sleep.

For a moment, I heard nothing, l so I thought that perhaps, it had been a dream, but then I heard it again after a moment. “Where the hell is Asher?”

At that, I knew who was looking for me.

It was my mother. She was the only one out could be because no one dared yell in my house at all, talkless this early.

What the hell was going on? Why was she here this early, and more importantly, why was she yelling like this? I would only have the answer when I saw her anyway, so I stood up from the bed and grabbed my sweatpants. I had slept naked last night, as I did most nights.
