Asher’s POV

Need I say that I was right to have cut off May, and divorced her? Okay, maybe she did sign the papers, and I haven’t, but you know what I mean.

I was in my office minding my business and working to get my money when her father came to visit me, and now, he’s sitting in front of me with an imploring look on his face. I could tell he was here for something.

“What are you doing here, Will?” I asked.

The older man scratched the spot behind his ear as he looked at me, and then he hesitated a second before he said. “Huh, I just wanted to remind you about the money you promised if I get May to sign the papers.”

This man was funny, but not to me right now because I wanted to bash his head in. What was he talking about? Well, I would indulge him and see where this went.

“I dare to ask you why you keep needing so much money, Will.”

He shrugged. “Well, my business seems to have gone downhill since I last saw you. My business dealings just seem to fall through for no reason, so
