Aria Nightshade woke to pain.

Not the dull ache of exhaustion.

Not the lingering sting of memory.

This was different.

Sharp. Burning. Alive.

It crawled beneath her skin like fire, forcing her lungs to pull in air too quickly, too deeply. Every sound hit her at once—the crackle of wood, distant voices, the slow drip of water somewhere beyond the walls.

Too loud.

Too clear.

Her eyes snapped open.

Wooden beams stretched above her, rough and uneven, lit by a dim lantern that flickered against the walls. The air smelled of smoke, metal, and something unfamiliar—something wild.

Not the forest.

Not Silverfang.

Somewhere else.

Aria pushed herself upright—

Too fast.

Her body reacted instantly, balancing before the dizziness could take hold. Her breath steadied on its own, her pulse slowing unnaturally quickly.

She froze.

That wasn’t normal.

Nothing about this was normal.

“You’re awake.”

The voice came from the doorway.

Low.

Calm.

Controlled.

Aria turned sharply.

A man stood there, tall and broad, his presence filling the space without effort. His gaze was fixed on her—not casually, but carefully, like he was measuring something unseen.

Danger.

Her instincts screamed it immediately.

Aria slid off the bed, her feet hitting the ground with steady force. No weakness. No hesitation.

“What did you do to me?” she demanded.

The man didn’t move.

“Saved your life,” he said.

“I didn’t need saving.”

His expression didn’t change. “You were dying.”

“I wasn’t—”

The memory hit her.

The forest.

The pain.

The explosion of something she couldn’t control.

Her voice cut off.

The man watched her closely. “You remember.”

Aria’s jaw tightened. “Where am I?”

“Shadow Hollow.”

The name settled heavily.

Rogues.

Survivors.

Danger.

Her eyes sharpened. “Why bring me here?”

“Because you shouldn’t exist.”

Silence.

The words landed harder than expected.

Aria took a step forward. “Explain.”

Instead, he stepped closer.

Not threatening.

But not safe either.

“You’re an omega,” he said.

“Yes.”

“And yet you threw a grown rogue across a clearing without touching him.”

Her chest tightened.

“That wasn’t—”

“Normal?” he finished.

Aria said nothing.

Because it wasn’t.

It hadn’t been.

The man’s gaze darkened slightly. “Your wolf isn’t weak.”

“I know what I am,” she snapped.

“No,” he said sharply. “You know what they told you.”

The room went still.

Aria’s breath slowed.

Dangerously quiet.

“That’s not the same thing.”

Something in her chest twisted.

Uncomfortable.

Unwelcome.

But real.

“I’ve always been this way,” she said, quieter now.

“Then explain why your body isn’t reacting like an omega’s.”

She couldn’t.

Her pulse was steady.

Her strength—wrong.

Everything about her felt… different.

Stronger.

Faster.

Like something had been unlocked.

The man studied her reaction carefully.

“They suppressed you,” he said.

The words hit like a strike.

Aria shook her head. “That’s not possible.”

“It is,” he said. “And it was done deliberately.”

Her mind flashed—

Meals that always tasted slightly bitter.

Days she felt too weak to stand.

Moments her body had reacted faster—only for it to fade.

She had ignored it.

Because she had been told who she was.

Because she had believed it.

“No…” she whispered.

But doubt had already taken hold.

The man stepped back slightly, giving her space.

“Ask yourself something,” he said. “When have you ever felt completely powerless?”

Aria’s breath caught.

There had always been something.

Small.

Faint.

Hidden.

She had dismissed it.

Because it didn’t fit the truth she had been given.

“They didn’t want you strong,” he continued.

“Why?” Aria asked, her voice tightening.

His expression hardened. “Because whatever you are… isn’t normal.”

Silence stretched.

Aria’s chest rose and fell slowly.

Not weak.

Not broken.

Anger began to settle.

Cold.

Controlled.

“They lied to me,” she said.

“Yes.”

“They kept me like that.”

“Yes.”

Her fingers curled.

Not shaking.

Tightening.

“They made me believe I was nothing.”

The man didn’t answer.

He didn’t need to.

Aria lifted her head slowly.

Her eyes were different now.

Sharper.

Focused.

“What are you?” she asked him.

“Kael Varric,” he replied. “Leader of Shadow Hollow.”

The name carried weight.

Aria felt it immediately.

“And what do you want from me?”

Kael held her gaze. “Nothing.”

She didn’t believe him.

“No one helps for nothing.”

“Then consider this curiosity,” he said. “I want to see what you become.”

Before she could respond—

A sudden crash echoed outside.

Followed by shouting.

Urgent.

Fast.

Kael turned instantly. “Stay here.”

Aria moved before he finished speaking.

“I’m not staying anywhere.”

He didn’t stop her.

Instead, he stepped outside.

Aria followed.

The air outside was tense.

Rogues moved quickly, weapons drawn, their expressions sharp with focus.

“What happened?” Kael demanded.

“Scouts spotted movement,” one of them replied. “Silverfang patrols. Closer than usual.”

Aria went still.

Silverfang.

Her chest tightened—

Not with pain.

With something colder.

“They’re searching,” another rogue added.

Kael’s gaze flickered briefly toward Aria.

“They don’t search without reason.”

Aria understood immediately.

They felt it.

Or someone knew.

Her mind moved quickly.

If Silverfang had reacted this fast—

Then whatever had awakened in her hadn’t gone unnoticed.

A slow realization settled in.

This wasn’t just her secret anymore.

It was a threat.

Kael turned back to his fighters. “Fall back. Stay hidden.”

They moved instantly.

Disciplined.

Prepared.

Aria remained where she was.

Thinking.

If they were searching…

Then someone was afraid.

Her lips pressed together slightly.

Good.

Kael looked at her again. “You should stay out of sight.”

Aria met his gaze.

Calm.

Certain.

“No.”

A pause.

Then—

“Then you learn fast,” he said.

Aria didn’t hesitate.

Because something inside her had already changed.

“I won’t be what they made me anymore.”

Kael studied her.

And for the first time—

He nodded.

Because he believed her.

The air shifted suddenly.

Aria felt it before anyone spoke.

A presence.

Faint.

But familiar.

Her head turned sharply toward the forest.

Something was there.

Watching.

“Someone’s close,” she said.

Kael’s expression darkened. “Positions.”

Rogues moved instantly, vanishing into the trees.

Aria stayed where she was.

Listening.

Feeling.

Her heartbeat slowed.

Not fear.

Focus.

Then—

A figure stepped from the shadows.

Tall.

Commanding.

Unmistakable.

Ronan Blackthorn.

Everything inside her went still.

Not weak.

Not broken.

Aware.

His gaze locked onto her instantly.

Sharp.

Searching.

And something flickered in his eyes.

Recognition.

Impossible.

Aria didn’t move.

Didn’t speak.

Neither did he.

The distance between them felt smaller than it was.

Dangerous.

Charged.

Then Ronan’s expression hardened.

“You shouldn’t be here,” he said.

Aria tilted her head slightly.

“And yet… here I am.”

Silence.

Tension snapped tight.

Behind him, Silverfang warriors emerged.

Weapons ready.

Behind her, rogues waited unseen.

One move—

And everything would break.

Ronan took a step forward.

Aria didn’t step back.

Something in his gaze shifted again.

Not certainty.

Not control.

Something else.

“What are you?” he asked.

The question lingered.

Heavy.

Real.

Aria held his gaze.

And for the first time—

She didn’t feel small.

Didn’t feel invisible.

Didn’t feel like nothing.

Her voice was calm.

Cold.

Certain.

“I’m the mistake you made,” she said.

The words hit harder than any attack.

Ronan stilled.

Just for a second.

But it was enough.

Because in that moment—

He knew.

Something had changed.

And whatever she had become—

It was no longer something he could ignore.

Aria felt the power inside her stir again.

Stronger.

Awake.

Watching.

And this time—

She didn’t try to suppress it.

Because she finally understood.

They hadn’t just lied to her.

They had feared her.

And now—

They had a reason to.

Moonlight and darkness collided across the collapsing prison as the final battle reached its conclusion, and for a brief moment it seemed as though the entire world held its breath. Ancient powers tore through the cavern. The walls of the fortress crumbled. Massive pillars collapsed into the abyss below. Energy storms raged across the containment level. Yet amid all the destruction, amid all the chaos and violence that had consumed countless lives throughout the war, one truth stood at the center of everything.Aria.Not the Sovereigns. Not the war.Not the prophecy.Aria.The girl who had once been unwanted. The girl who had once been doubted. The girl who had once been rejected by the very world she was now fighting to save.Everything had led here.Every betrayal.Every sacrifice.Every loss.Every victory.Every lesson.Every scar. All of it had shaped the woman standing beneath the silver light. The True Luna. The final hope of a fractured world. The First Sovereign understood it

  • The Unwanted Luna   CHAPTER 149: THE LAST SACRIFICE

Chaos erupted across the containment cavern the moment the Third Sovereign rejected the First Sovereign's command, and the ancient fortress that had endured centuries of imprisonment immediately became the battlefield upon which the fate of the world would be decided. Power surged through every corner of the collapsing prison. Crimson energy collided against living shadows. Ancient seals shattered beneath the pressure. Entire sections of the cavern collapsed into darkness while shockwaves rolled outward with enough force to crack mountains far above the Ashen Expanse. The Third Sovereign moved first. Not with rage. Not with hatred. With purpose. His hand rose toward the First Sovereign, and an immense wave of crimson energy exploded across the chamber. The attack tore through layers of darkness and shattered ancient stone like fragile glass. The First Sovereign responded instantly, raising walls of shadow that twisted and expanded across the battlefield, transforming the cavern into a

  • The Unwanted Luna   CHAPTER 148: THE CHOICE BEFORE DAWN

The prison did not survive the night. The first sign came shortly after midnight when a violent tremor swept through the containment cavern with such force that entire sections of the ancient structure collapsed into darkness below. Massive chains that had remained intact for centuries suddenly snapped one after another, their thunderous breaks echoing across the enormous chamber like the ringing of ancient bells announcing the end of an age. Dust and fragments of crystal filled the air while ancient seals flickered erratically across the walls, and everyone present immediately understood that the final stage had begun. The Third Sovereign was awakening. There would be no stopping it now.Throughout the cavern, members of the expedition rushed into position while Orion and the First Voice desperately searched for anything hidden within the ancient records that might still offer guidance. Warriors prepared weapons. Scouts secured evacuation routes. Leaders coordinated defensive positio

  • The Unwanted Luna   CHAPTER 147: THE AWAKENING OF THE END MADE FLESH

The chamber continued trembling long after the crystal's final words faded into silence, and although nobody spoke immediately, every member of the expedition understood that something fundamental had changed. Until now they had been racing against the awakening of the Third Sovereign. Until now there had still been uncertainty regarding exactly how much time remained. That uncertainty no longer existed. The prison was collapsing. The Heart Chamber had confirmed it. Whatever ancient safeguards had endured for centuries were reaching their limit, and the thing imprisoned beneath the fortress was no longer merely stirring. It was awakening.Another tremor shook the chamber.Dust rained from the ceiling.Ancient symbols flickered across the walls.Far below them, somewhere deep within the foundations of the prison, a roar echoed upward through stone corridors and forgotten halls. The sound felt less like a noise and more like a force.Several warriors instinctively covered their ears.Ot

  • The Unwanted Luna   CHAPTER 146: THE HEART OF THE PRISON

The Ashen Expanse felt wrong in ways that no words could fully describe, because the moment the expedition crossed its borders, every member of the alliance immediately sensed that they had entered a place where the natural order of the world had long ago been broken. The air itself felt heavier. Sounds traveled strangely. Even light appeared weaker beneath the endless gray sky that stretched above the wasteland. Every mile deeper into the Expanse seemed to pull them farther away from the world they knew and closer toward something ancient, something buried, something that should perhaps have remained forgotten forever. No birds flew overhead. No animals crossed their path.No signs of life existed anywhere.Only ash.Endless ash.The ground beneath their feet consisted of black stone mixed with layers of gray dust that appeared centuries old. Ancient mountains surrounded the region like silent guardians while jagged cliffs rose from the wasteland in unnatural formations that resemble

  • The Unwanted Luna   CHAPTER 145: THE ROAD TO THE ASHEN EXPANSE

The decision was made three days after the council learned the true state of the Third Sovereign's prison, and although numerous leaders argued for caution, additional preparation, or further intelligence gathering before committing to such a dangerous mission, the reality facing the alliance left little room for hesitation because every report arriving from the ancient prison pointed toward the same conclusion. Time was running out. The seals that had restrained the Third Sovereign for centuries continued weakening at an alarming rate, and if the alliance delayed too long, they would no longer be traveling to prevent an awakening. They would be traveling to survive one.Preparations began immediately.Northhaven had transformed significantly since the battle against the Second Sovereign. The settlement still carried visible scars, yet life had returned to its streets. Rebuilding efforts progressed steadily. Trade caravans moved through the gates once more. Refugees who had initially
