HANNAH’S POV:

THE NEXT DAY:

We were still at the resort and watching the sunrise was one of the things I thanked myself for being awake to do. I did some work out, took care of my hygiene, replied to a few emails and went to check on the kids.

My heart skipped a beat when I got into their rooms and they weren’t there and I wasn’t hearing their tiny voices. I walked around the villa and finally heard their giggles from Elijah’s room.

“Come in.” Elijah’s voice sounded from over the door and I str

Story is fine. Too many typographical mistakes. Too many ads, especially on the last page.

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   A Life Without Fear

MARY'S POV:My daughter probably thought she was whispering softly enough that only he could hear, but I caught every single word loud and clear. "Shh! He is Mommy's superhero. She just never wants to admit it to anyone. Whenever someone catches us watching the cartoon on TV, she always pretends I am the one who asked to put it on!"Marl burst out laughing on the spot. The sound filled the cozy carriage, warm, rich, and utterly delighted. I felt an instant mix of deep embarrassment and helpless amusement. My cheeks burned hot, my hands tightened on the grips, and I wanted nothing more than to shrink down and disappear into the seat cushion."You two do know I can hear every single word you are saying, right?" I said, keeping my voice dry and unimpressed. That only made him laugh twice as hard. He practically doubled over, his shoulders shaking with genuine amusement, his breath coming in quick gasps. I was so mortified that I could barely keep my hands steady, and the front tires

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   Uncle Marl and His Little Princess

MARY'S POV:I was so touched that I could hardly find my voice. My daughter had been holding on to this single cupcake the whole time, saving it just for me through the whole crazy afternoon. Her small fingers were sticky with bright frosting, her little palm warm against mine as she carefully pressed the container into my hand. The sweet icing princess on top was slightly squished against the plastic lid, the little crown tilted to the side, the pink dress smeared around the edges. But to me, it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen in my entire life.My heart practically melted right there on the spot. She had been carrying it around for hours, through all the noise and havoc of the schoolyard, through the excitement of handing out treats to her friends, and through the slow ride home in our homemade pumpkin carriage. She had resisted the urge to eat it herself, even though she loved sweets more than anything. She had saved it all for me."Thank you, baby," I whispered s

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   Mommy, I Love You the Most

MARY'S POV:Watching the scene turn more chaotic by the second, I could not help worrying that I had made this whole thing way too loud and noticeable. The surrounding parents were staring, some looking amused, others looking thoroughly annoyed by the noise. A couple of teachers were walking around trying to keep order, their voices barely carrying over the loud chatter. Children were everywhere, their cheeks sticky with bright frosting, their hands tightly gripping their treats.Marl, however, did not seem bothered in the least. We still had plenty of extra cupcakes waiting back at the house, far more than the three of us could ever finish on our own. Handing them out to the neighborhood kids meant less food went to waste and a lot of happy faces around the yard. There was really nothing to complain about. After the very last cupcake had been claimed and the line cleared out, I took my daughter's warm hand and helped her climb up into the pumpkin carriage with me.The inside was

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   The Pumpkin Carriage Everyone Wanted

MARY'S POV: The little boy stood there hovering between the princess cupcakes and the superhero ones, completely unable to decide which one he wanted more. His small hand floated over one, then shifted to another, his forehead scrunched up in deep thought. Finally, he picked a Spider-Man cupcake, holding it up high like he had just won a prize. Seeing him get one, the other children could not hold back any longer. They rushed over all at once, surrounding the carriage in a noisy group. Their voices filled the air, a loud chorus of pure excitement. "Can I please get one?" "Me too! Over here!" "Can I have two of them?" "Are these really free?" "Do you have any with the frozen princess?" "My favorite is Elsa!" "I want the giant green monster one!" Excited shouting filled my ears from every direction. Some kids walked straight up to my daughter to ask if they could play with her at school, while others begged Marl if they could take a second one home for their little b

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   The Sweetest Attraction

MARY'S POV:That girl had an incredible nose for sweets. I watched her scramble right into the carriage, then dramatically slap both hands over her mouth. Her eyes went wide as saucers, her face showing pure delight.Marl stepped up and pressed a hidden button on the side, and the display case built inside the carriage slid outward with a quiet click. It had originally been packed with all kinds of handmade dolls, and a few were still tucked into the corners, but most had been left back at home to clear space for the treats. The cupcakes were set out in neat rows, every single one decorated with a different cartoon character. There were princesses and superheroes, little animals and funny aliens, all of them made with careful attention. The frosting was bright and colorful, and the piped designs were neat and clear.I had clearly made far too many. The display case was practically overflowing, and extra cupcakes were spilling onto the small fold-out table I had set up beside it. I

  • The Unwanted Wife's Return (Ex-Husband Wants Me Back)   Greetings, Princess Elsa!

MARY'S POV:I wanted to pick my daughter up and hold her close, but she took a small step back, cleared her throat twice with total seriousness, and gave me a grand bow."Greetings, Princess Elsa!"I was mortified. My cheeks burned with heat, and I wanted nothing more than to sink right into the ground beneath my feet. The other parents were staring from every corner of the yard, their phones held high to record us, their whispers floating right across the schoolyard. I could feel their eyes on me, judging my outfit, cataloging every single detail of this ridiculous scene. A woman in a fancy coat was smirking behind her hand near the front gate. A man in a crisp suit was openly laughing with his friends. A group of older kids had stopped on their way out to watch, their faces lit with the kind of pure amusement that only came from seeing an adult make a complete fool of herself. She immediately burst out laughing at my reaction. The sound was bright and clear, the type of laught
