I couldn’t see.

I was in Lucius’s apartment, seated on a sofa. I’d scarcely had enough time to admire my surroundings — the minimally decorated living room was so like him — before he reappearing from his room, a large kit in hand.

He had instructed me to close my eyes, and without thinking, I obeyed. It was surprising when he knotted a blindfold behind my head. I’d asked why I needed to be blindfolded, and said it was to help me relax.
