LOGIN(Elian’s POV)
I bit my lip, watching Lucius without saying anything at first. Memories flashed in my mind, the awfulness of what he had put me through. My hopes dying a painful miserable death when I had realized Lucius didn’t give a damn about me, was only using me.
And now he was saying he had only acted that way out of what, jealousy?
Anger flared, but beneath it was my need to be heard. Despite the fact that I hated him for what he’d done
(Elian's POV)The air in the room was tense at the abrupt announcement from the guard. The words sat suspended in the air for a very short second before the words sank in our minds.Jasper had escaped.Jasper had escaped? How? Wasn't he under surveillance? It didn't make any sense. There was no way he had managed to evade a vampire. If he’d tried he would definitely end up dead, or worse.Lilith clearly didn't buy it either, her eyes moving between Lucius and Ophelia for a moment. They momentarily landed on me before moving away, to my immense relief. I could still feel a slight remainder of the effects of her ability on me.Lilith glared at Ophelia. “I don't believe it.”“Oh, that's okay. I can tell you I will not lose any sleep over your doubt.” Ophelia replied flippantly, very unbothered.Lilith’s scowl darkened at her careless ease. “This is ridiculous,
(Caleb's POV)My phone beeped with a notification. Dragging my attention from the document I had been reviewing, I picked it up and unlocked it with a smooth gesture. What I saw made my temper rise. Exhaling a taut breath, I stood from my desk, crossing the distance to the sitting area in the centre of the room. My office was done in minimalistic styles, dark colours contrasting with whites and silver.I refrained from decorating it in bright, extravagant colours and designs, not liking the brain fatigue that eventually came with that kind of style. My work was tasking enough, I didn't need to make it worse for myself. Sinking into one of the plush leather sofas, I reread the message my subordinate has sent to me. It was a picture, enclosed with a short message. “The young master has arrived sir at the gala, sir. He came with a plus one.”At first glance, I would have assumed the slender, blonde haired woman in the vivacious red dress was some hussy Jasper was playing with on the s
(Elian’s POV)Everything moved in slow motion, until it didn’t.I turned back to see Lucius, confused at why he sounded so pissed off. He was scowling, covering the distance between us with rapid fire strides. Then he was yanking me away from Lilith, shoving me behind his body, as if to protect me, which was ridiculous. Lilith was harmless.Wasn’t she?I blinked, some of the pleasurable haze from earlier ebbing from my mind. I could think better now, no longer consumed by adoring thoughts towards Lilith now that I was away from her.Confused, I peered past Lucius’s body. Lilith was still on the floor, gripping her injured shoulder while gazing at Lucius. She was bleeding, yet she seemed to pay it no mind.An innocent look appeared on her lips. “Lucius, you hurt me. I’ve done nothing to receive such malice from you.”Lucius was unmoved. “Guards, c

Despite the fact that I hated him for what he’d done to me, part of me still liked him. Maybe it was stupid of me, liking him despite what I know of him now, but I couldn’t help it.His hands were warm around mine, strong. Capable. Dependable. And god, I wanted nothing more than to depend on him, no matter how much of a bad idea it was.“I don’t like Jasper. From the very first day he forced himself on me. That time I said I was quitting streaming, he had been hiding in my closet. After that he set up t
(Elian’s POV)“I don’t… I don’t believe you.” I said, despite my fear. “Caleb isn’t that kind of person.”Caleb? The same Caleb that had taken in me and my mother, accepting me as his own despite the fact that only a legal document binded me to him. He still took care of me despite the fact that I was an adult, and still catered to my every need.Sure, he and Jasper’d had their differences in the past, but that was normal. Jasper was infuriating, always sneering at his father and disregarding his words, but Caleb had never once raised his voice at him, always trying to connect with him only to be rudely shrugged off.And yet somehow, Lucius expected me to believe that that same man would callously put a price in his son’s head? No.It had to be a lie.For whatever reason, Lucius was trying to slander Caleb, to sully his image in my e
(Elian’s POV)My mind reeled from the revelation. I barely noticed when Lucius swept me up from the sofa, carrying me away to sit behind his desk.He settled me on his strong thighs, holding me tight against him. Tapered fingers carded through my blond hair, keeping my head pressed against his broad chest. At that moment I felt so small, like a house cat before a lion. Luckily for me, this particular lion seemed content to let me live.“I… I don’t believe you.” I said finally. There was no way Caleb would deliver his son to the vampires to be killed. Jasper was his family, his own blood. Lucius had to be lying.“Why do you think Caleb insisted on having Jasper attend the event despite him not knowing a single thing about vampire culture?”“I don’t know? To ease him in gradually?”“To sell him off.” Lucius replied. “There were only two
(Elian's POV) Class rounded up, and the clouds cleared up, admitting bright rays of sun. I followed Lucius out of the auditorium. He flinched as we stepped into the sunlight, his lips thinning as a frown settled between his brows. It evened out into a neutral expression when his eyes fell on me.
(Elian’s POV) The sky was gloomy. It was early enough that classes hadn't started, yet late enough that I knew Lucius couldn’t be at the campus gym. The only place he could possibly be would be the study room in Building One. If he was even there. The study room wasn’t a regular spot for Lucius.
(Elian’s POV) The mask against my face was suddenly very uncomfortable, and I itched to take it off. I didn’t dare though. It was too much of a risk. What were the odds of something, or someone being inside my closet? I didn’t know. I didn’t want to know. It creeped me out to imagine some pervert
(Elian’s POV) I woke up with a wince, grimacing as I tried to swallow. Everywhere hurt.I glanced to my side, doing a double take. My eyes landed on the person beside me. Jasper. Suddenly, it all came back to me. My live stream last night. The comment asking me to check my closet. Jasper jerking
