Chapter Five

Ryden woke up at the crack of dawn. He did not want to do so, but the original's body had been trained to and by this point, it was instinctual. He groaned and dragged himself to the bathroom, started washing his face, and looked up to see the unfamiliar face in the mirror.

Ryden had deep blue eyes, a black hair which fell over his right eye, and a sharp jaw. Put together, he was a handsome man, no doubt about that.

And he’s got a leaner physique and tall stature. Once he finished inspecting his new body, he quickly left the bathroom to get dressed and start the day.

Walking back into the bedroom, Ryden quickly found a black suit jacket with a dark blue shirt to wear to work and then went downstairs. While walking towards the door, Daisuke stopped him.

Host, you forgot the file that you were handed yesterday by the male lead.

"Is it necessary? I assumed that the project would start next week," he replied after stopping midway.

That's true, but usually, before a project starts, there are meetings held for the employees involved and the project director, to brief them on it.

"Oh, alright then.” Daisuke had a point. So he went back and grabbed the folder that was on the bedside table before finally leaving his bedroom and out of the house.

He parked the car according to the original’s memories. Ryden walked towards the company he worked at, but couldn't get over how the building's long shadow, and big open doors, made him feel like he was walking straight into the mouth of a monster.

Snapping out of his thoughts, Ryden quickly entered the company while unintentionally attracting quite a lot of attention. Ryden would have usually assumed it was because of his looks, but he knew that it was because of rumors of him being a spy.

The plot had already reached the point where there were rumors of the original owner being a spy. Why Katsuro would start with that of all things when he started targeting the original owner is beyond him.

After all, it was too risky and could eventually fire back at him had the company decided to investigate whether there was truth to the rumors.

Akira ignored the people staring at him, entered the elevator, then pushed the button for the fifth floor.

However, he was the protagonist of this world after all. With the plot armor there to protect him, naturally no action was taken.

Ryden, on the other hand, didn't spend time with his colleagues and had no knowledge of the rumors spreading around him. He didn't know anything before he was conveniently put behind bars.

Speaking of which, he also was not aware of what departments the other floors in the building were assigned to. While listening to the elevator music, he thought of how to avoid being forced to hire the workers planted by the male lead's secretary. He was deep in thought when the elevator door opened on the fifth floor and Ryden walked out, heading towards his office.

Finding the office with Ryden's name written on it, he entered the room and looked around. There was a desk in the middle of the office with a brown chair behind it. Then, there were also two dark blue chairs facing each other, and a small table with a flower vase between them. Behind the desk was a big painting. To the left of the desk was a TV, with two paintings on the wall behind it, and to the right of the desk, there were two sliding glass doors leading to the balcony.

Akira finished looking around and found the set to his liking, so he chose not to change anything. Walking to the desk and placing the briefcase he was carrying on it, he removed his suit jacket.

Suddenly, he heard his name being called. He turned around to see a man sitting on a chair by the balcony outside the office. When the mysterious man noticed his surprised face, the man let out a wide smile.

The man stood up, still smiling, and said, "Really, Ryden? I know I'm hot, but no need to stare," while walking towards him.

Akira realized the original must've been familiar with the man as he walked toward him. He awkwardly stood there, not knowing what to do.

He had no recollection of the man from the memories he received from the original owner. When the man got quite close, Akira expected a hug and was shocked to see himself being kissed by the man.

Surprised would be an understatement that even Daisuke was shocked at the sudden incident.
