LOGINRemy's POV
I walked fully into the room, and my eyes landed on her; her skin was pale, her lips had cracks, and her peculiar ocean blue eyes were fixed on mine. Her hair was packed in a ponytail style, and although it was messy, she still looked like the most beautiful woman I had ever seen.
I shrugged the thought off my mind, since that was not the reason I was here. “Good morning, Princess," I greeted, bowing lightly to show my respect.
The alpha briefed me all about his daughter, and all her daily schedules were given to me. Her safety is my top priority, and I would only get my pay once the culprit is caught and killed.
Iconic, isn't it? He would do anything to protect his family but wouldn't hesitate to bear his claws to end the lives of innocent people.
I would never forget that night, and I'll make sure I return the favor ten times . An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.
I'll make you pay, Alpha Moonwalker. I swear!
Furthermore, I curled my fingers into a fist and glared at her, fighting the urge to have her head on a stick and burnt to death.
"You acknowledge my status, but your eyes irritate me for no reason,” she blurted out, with arched brows.
I batted my eyelashes rapidly and cleared my throat. Maybe she's not so stupid. “I'm Remy Thayer Valentin, your new babysitter.”
Her eyes narrowed. “Guess it's true. Rogues are really wild, uncultured beasts," she spat, watching me calmly.
Uncultured beasts?
“Go back from wherever you came from, because I would rather die than let a rogue ruin my social status," she added, her arms crossed over her chest.
My eyes glinted with amusement. “I don't have time to deal with a spoilt brat like you. “ I inquired, trying to stay calm. “So I'll say this only once; don't make my job hard. Okay.”
She scoffed and laid down properly on her bed. “You speak so arrogantly." She hissed, turning her back to me.
"I'm afraid it's the only way to deal with brats like you, princess,” I replied, not minding that my words wounded her pride.
I wasn't expecting her next course of action, believe me. She threw her ceramic tea cup at me, but I was fast enough to dodge it, thanks to my wolf's sharp senses. Her eyes flashed with anger. “I'll never be kept in line by someone like you. You're nothing but a filthy stray dog.”
She has some guts, I won't lie, but her words mean nothing to me. It's better she hates me. It would make my plans go smoothly.
I smirked. “And you're nothing but a spoilt little princess who can't even take care of herself. But don't worry, I'll make sure you're safe,” I spat, walking close to her bed. “Even from yourself.”
The air was thick with tension as our eyes met; her eyes read how badly she wanted me to leave her presence.
A few minutes later. I sat down on a sofa beside her bed and watched her closely. The room temperature had skyrocketed to that of a burning furnace. I chuckled, she's pretty pissed.
"Are you going to sit here all day?” She questioned, glaring at me.
"Of course. It's part of my job,” I answered, not sparing her a single glance.
"I'm not a child, and this is inappropriate,” she roared, forcing herself to climb down from her bed. She almost lost balance, but I was fast to grab her before she fell. Our eyes met, and she hurriedly pushed me off.
"Don't touch me so casually,” she cautioned, her nose scrunched in disgust.
"I was only doing my job, princess.”
She rolled her eyes and marched in the opposite direction. “Where are you going to?” I asked, waiting for her reply.
She rested her hands on her waist and stared at me in disbelief. “I don't need your permission to use the bathroom now, do I?”
I kept my gaze focused intently on her, with a serious look on my face. “I'll come with you. It's part of my job,” I explained, now standing in front of her.
"She furrowed her brows. “ You can't be serious! I'm not going to do my business with you watching.”
I leaned close to the bathroom door with a triumphant smile spread across my lips. “Oh! I'm dead serious, princess. You go nowhere without me. Not even the bathroom.”
“What are you? My stalker," she hissed, angrily turning around to retire back to her bed.
I sighed and decided to let her do her business. “Fine, I'll wait for you outside.”
She rolled her eyes and stomped into the bathroom, slamming the door on my face.
I still stood outside her bathroom door, waiting patiently for her to come out. A loud shriek from inside the bathroom jerked me out of my thoughts.
Without hesitating, I burst into the bathroom, my eyes scanning the room. I spotted her on the floor and rushed to her side. I could see almost every inch of her since her see-through white silk nightgown that was glued to her skin. It was soaking wet.
The moment my hands made contact with her bare skin, a spark of electricity ran through my body. Due to her reaction, I could tell she had felt it too.
Our eyes met, and for a moment, I couldn't look away. Our wolves synced, each sensing something similar about the other. “Mate,” we both whispered in unison.
She finally blinked out of the trans and pushed me away; I could hear her heart racing. Before I could speak up, a knock on the door interrupted me.
"Your highness, can I come in? “ A male voice called out.
My eyes still locked onto hers as I reluctantly stood up.
What just happened?
She coughed and pushed me out to change. What just occurred between didn't give room for either of us to feel fluttered.
Let it not be what I think it is. All my life I have worked and trained hard to exert my revenge on those that wronged me, and this could ruin it.
I can't let this ruin it.
I brushed the thought off my mind and stared at Hazel's portrait on the white painted wall. Likewise, I curled my hands into a fist and said, “Not even a silly mate bond can stop me from killing what he treasures most.” I whispered to myself, with my claws digging into my flesh.
"What are you doing here?” I raised my head and saw a young man almost my age staring at me with curiosity etched on his face.
Hazel’s POV I still haven’t seen Father since his meeting, but I know they will approve of this laughable marriage. It’s crazy to be boldly rejected in public; it is as though he is some kind of god debunking whatever shame he has brought to me and my family to demand a marriage with my life as an excuse.I sighed and stared at my empty glass. A shiny, colored ceramic teacup. It was my favorite because Mother used it before she died. Well, you might be wondering why I would keep something that constantly reminds me that she’s no more. The thing is, somehow it makes me feel closer to her, like she’s here; the only difference is I cannot really see her.The cool evening breeze brushed through my perfectly combed hair as I lifted my head and pulled the plate of sweets closer to me. Princess Hazel, it’s not safe here without your bodyguard. I could lose my job,” Gwen lamented, running her eyes around to check if we were the only ones here.I chuckled, threw a tiny square box of choc
Damian’s POV I tightened my grip on the plastic paintbrush in my hand as a heavy sigh escaped from my mouth. My eyes lingered on the painting of her: Hazel. Her piercing ocean blue eyes that seem to seep deeper into my soul whenever I look at them. Why wouldn’t she see me differently? How much do I want to be there for her and take good care of her? I broke the brush and threw it at the far corner of the room, causing the fresh liquid from the brush tip to stain the marble floor. A maid behind me rushed to clean up the mess I had just made, but I sent her off. My eyes wandered to the paintings on the wall. I chuckled, realizing almost every single painting here was of her. Is this unhealthy, like she had said? Well, it’s clear how much love I have for her, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Right? The image of that annoying bodyguard of hers came up in my mind, and it only intensified the rage boiling in my chest. I balled my hands into a fist to the point I could see the blood sto
Hazel’s POV I sat down on the edge of my bed as I stared at the white curtains dancing around as the wind blew. The weight of what happened earlier was still on the verge of consuming me whole. It felt as though I was drowning in a deep blue sea with no hand stretched out to get me. To think my father was supporting this made the ache in my chest grow even heavier. I laid down properly on the bed and stretched out my legs with my shiny heels still on my feet. No matter how hard I tried, I still couldn’t shake off the feeling. “Why does my chest hurt so bad? I hate being alone,” I mumbled under my breath as hot tears slid down my eyes. I sniffed and burst into uncontrollable tears. It sucked to be miserable and a princess at that. The words of that witch replayed in my head, and I couldn’t help but let the tears fall freely. To be put in a position like that, it’s so unfair. “Princess Hazel, I heard from one of the maids that you were rejected by a mere rogue,” Lady Victoria sassed
Remy's POV The air in the throne room was thick with tension, each heartbeat could be heard, as could the sound of Hazel's clothing rubbing against each other. I could feel the brewing conflict cooking, but it was not in my place to intervene. "Father, what was that all about?” She questioned, her brows drew together in a thin line. Finally breaking the silence. "I did this for you, my flower," the alpha assured her, sincerity evident in his tone. He could still be lying. She scoffed. “For me? You chose Damian over me, over your daughters happiness," she roared, with veins popped on her forehead. He massaged his temple and sat upright. “Hazel, please! Let's not do this right now.”Seeing where all this was going, I don't think spoilt princess would listen. Bet she hates Damian that much. Just accept it. I stood still, with my arms crossed across my chest. She clearly has some guts, calling the alpha out for deciding for her: exactly what a spoilt brat would do when they don't h
Hazel's POV The morning sun sipped through the open castle windows, the brightness filled the entire hallway; my heels clicked on the stone floor as I stomped ahead with no particular destination in mind. Remy, my bodyguard kept pace beside me. I paused and hurriedly ran my eyes around to check if anyone was coming this way. I returned my gaze back at him, and he only had an unreadable expression on his face."You just stood like a statue while Damian insulted me, " I spat, my voice rising. “Do you even know what being a bodyguard means?”Remy's eyebrows arched. “My job is to protect you from danger, not dictate your love life.”I scoffed in disbelief. “Oh, so it's not danger when a man steals a kiss from me without consent?” Watching him closely, he didn't seem to be affected by my sudden outburst; rather, he just stood still with a tired expression on his face. Almost like he was fed up with our conversation. Idiot! His eyes not leaving mine, he said. “Clearly, you weren't dyin
Damian's POV I overheard some castle maids talking about Hazel's near death incident, and without hesitating, I had to rush down to be by her side. Princess Hazel and I have been friends for like forever, and our parents are pretty close because my father's the beta of the pack. "Who on earth are you, and what are you doing in the princesses chambers?” I asked, glaring at the black-haired young man in Hazel's room. He dusted his hands on his milk colored long sleeved shirt and ignored me. I bit my lip hard, trying to take the disrespect, and without hesitating, I blocked his path, ready to attack the moment my wolf felt something off about him. He paused and watched closely. “I only answer to the princess, so get out of my way before I strike you down,” he replied. His pupils were crimson red now. I wanted to talk back, but rather my wolf stayed mute. Acknowledging a higher authority. I coughed and swallowed back the words in my throat. Who on earth is this man?"Damian! What's
