Remy's POV

The air in the throne room was thick  with tension, each heartbeat could be heard, as could the sound of Hazel's clothing rubbing against each other. I could feel the brewing conflict cooking, but it was not in my place to intervene.

"Father, what was that all about?” She questioned, her brows drew together in a thin line. Finally breaking the silence.

"I did this for you, my flower," the alpha assured her, sincerity evident in his tone. He could still be lying.

She scoffed. “For me? You chose Damian over me, over your daughters happiness," she roared, with veins popped on her forehead.

He massaged his temple and sat upright. “Hazel, please! Let's not do this right now.”

Seeing where all this was going, I don't think spoilt princess would listen. Bet she hates Damian that much. Just accept it.

I stood still, with my arms crossed across my chest. She clearly has some guts, calling the alpha out for deciding for her: exactly what a spoilt brat would do when they don't have their way.

The meeting ended sooner because Hazel demanded a word with her father, and the others had to leave reluctantly.

She stayed put, with her hands rested on her hips as she stared intently at him. Her feet were unable to stay still though.

The alpha stood up slowly, his eyes fixed on hers. He towered over her, infused with authority and power.  "He is a strong wolf, and I watched the both of you grow up," he explained further, trying to make Hazel give in to reason.

She turned around, her back now facing the alpha. “If he was as strong as you claimed, then why didn't you ask him to be my bodyguard?" She exclaimed, burning with rage. The temperature of the room had somehow skyrocketed, causing sweats to form around my forehead.

"I thought I was your little flower, father. That you would never betray me." She sniffed, fighting back the tears that threatened to drop from her eyes.

"Of course you still are, but I hope you understand that I did this for your future." He replied, grabbing hold of her shoulder.

"Damian comes from a reputable family, and he can take good care of you.” He added.

Hazel yanked his hand off her shoulder and rolled her eyes. “He doesn't care, and maybe you're just too blind to see it.”

“Watch your tone when you speak to me, young lady, you may be my daughter, but I'm still your alpha." He yelled, his voice loud and masked with such authority. It could make any wolf succumb instantly.

Hazel took a step back, and a forced smile escaped from her lips. “In all twenty-three years of my life, you've never raised your voice at me.”

For no reason in particular, I felt like a total stranger, and I didn't deserve to be here. My feet also wouldn't move on their own, like it was my right to be here to watch over her. Doesn't make any sense.

The alpha ran his fingers through his black silky hair and sighed. He was tired, and Hazel was pretty pissed. “My little flower, I'm sorry." It seems he really loves her.

The alpha's gaze had shifted, and now it was on me, assessing, judging, and trying to put some screws together. I didn't fret, not like I wanted his daughter for myself. Her death is the only thing that matters anyway.

Not expecting his next choice of words. “Do you have a mate, Remy?” He inquired, taking me by surprise.

My eyes popped open as I tried to process what he just asked. Where is that coming from?

My mouth went dry as I thought of the best situation to get out of this. I'm no fool, and if truth be told, he suspects something and wants me to spill.

I took in deep breaths in and out before speaking up, my eyes stealing glances at her. A bead of sweat slides down her cheek and down to her chin; she's pretty nervous.

I opened my mouth, hesitant, but before I could speak up, she stepped in front of me. “I've discovered my mate, and it's Remy," she announced, unwavering. Must have bit back the fear at the last minute.

The silence fell, as if our words had vanished into the walls. The alpha's expression darkened, his aura now polluted with anger.

"A Rogue?” He spat, venom dripping from his words. “You would choose a man of stature over a lowly rogue?”

She stayed put, her chin lifted. “I would rather be with a rogue than have Damian be my pretend mate for all eternity," she countered.

She doesn't mean that, and I know it.

"You don't understand what I want, father!” She added, her face red.

"This is not some princess game, you're throwing your future away," he yelled, whipping his face with his hand.

"And you are making a huge mistake," she voiced, with her hands clenched into a fist.

The alpha sighed and quickly stared at the both of us. “Do you desire to spend eternity with my daughter?”

Wait! What? It was only getting worse, and this was the final straw.

i watched her closely and read her lips say, “Don't you dare screw this for me."

A moment that could change everything, my plans, and what's more fun than ruining her beautiful little world.

I chuckled and finally spoke up. “I don't love your daughter at all, and even if we're mates, I still don't care if she belongs to another." Every word left my mouth with so much ease, like a flowing river without any blockage up front.

The expression on her face was so divine, the look of anger had morphed to that of shock. Her mouth wide open and blue ocean eyes piercing deep into mine. Like she just swore to end my life.

I wasn't concerned about the consequences of my actions because I wouldn't hesitate to hurt you, Hazel.

bit by bit, I'll break you until there's nothing left to get back together.

Nothing.

Her father's had a triumphant smile spread across his lips, but she remained frozen, and I could now hear her heart beating pretty fast.

Tears; she was crying now. Without uttering another word, she dashed out.

I bowed to the alpha and strolled out, don't think I'm running after her. Oh No! I only need to do my job, and that's it.

After running around the halls for some minutes, I still didn't find her.  I paused close to a dark corner to catch my breath. I was about to leave when I saw a maid with an unknown man standing in an empty corner.

They were whispering, but with my wolf's sharp senses, I could tell what they were saying.

"I did just as you had instructed, my lord," she whispered, running her eyes around.

"Good, now make sure the princess eats that food," he commanded, not bothered if someone heard him.

"Get out of my sight," he added, pressing his nose slightly.

"But my lord, you promised me a good reward." She persisted, pleadingly.

He scrunched his nose and threw a small sack of gold to the floor. “you get the rest once the job is done, now get going.”

She picked up the gold and rushed out, disappearing into the shadows.

My mind was racing, and for the first time in a long time I felt andraline rushing through my veins. Wow! Someone else wants to kill that spoilt brat.

Almost as if my body moved on its own, I punched the wall, ignoring the aftermath of what I just did.

I pressed my hands together, sprinting fast to look for her. No one kills her except me.

No one hurts her, no one. I swear! I'll find you and end you, whomever you're. That's a promise.

Things are about to get interesting.

  • The Werewolf Princess Rogue Bodyguard Is Her Mate   Chapter 8

Hazel’s POV I still haven’t seen Father since his meeting, but I know they will approve of this laughable marriage. It’s crazy to be boldly rejected in public; it is as though he is some kind of god debunking whatever shame he has brought to me and my family to demand a marriage with my life as an excuse.I sighed and stared at my empty glass. A shiny, colored ceramic teacup. It was my favorite because Mother used it before she died. Well, you might be wondering why I would keep something that constantly reminds me that she’s no more. The thing is, somehow it makes me feel closer to her, like she’s here; the only difference is I cannot really see her.The cool evening breeze brushed through my perfectly combed hair as I lifted my head and pulled the plate of sweets closer to me. Princess Hazel, it’s not safe here without your bodyguard. I could lose my job,” Gwen lamented, running her eyes around to check if we were the only ones here.I chuckled, threw a tiny square box of choc

  • The Werewolf Princess Rogue Bodyguard Is Her Mate   Chapter 7

Damian’s POV I tightened my grip on the plastic paintbrush in my hand as a heavy sigh escaped from my mouth. My eyes lingered on the painting of her: Hazel. Her piercing ocean blue eyes that seem to seep deeper into my soul whenever I look at them. Why wouldn’t she see me differently? How much do I want to be there for her and take good care of her? I broke the brush and threw it at the far corner of the room, causing the fresh liquid from the brush tip to stain the marble floor. A maid behind me rushed to clean up the mess I had just made, but I sent her off. My eyes wandered to the paintings on the wall. I chuckled, realizing almost every single painting here was of her. Is this unhealthy, like she had said? Well, it’s clear how much love I have for her, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Right? The image of that annoying bodyguard of hers came up in my mind, and it only intensified the rage boiling in my chest. I balled my hands into a fist to the point I could see the blood sto

Hazel’s POV I sat down on the edge of my bed as I stared at the white curtains dancing around as the wind blew. The weight of what happened earlier was still on the verge of consuming me whole. It felt as though I was drowning in a deep blue sea with no hand stretched out to get me. To think my father was supporting this made the ache in my chest grow even heavier. I laid down properly on the bed and stretched out my legs with my shiny heels still on my feet. No matter how hard I tried, I still couldn’t shake off the feeling. “Why does my chest hurt so bad? I hate being alone,” I mumbled under my breath as hot tears slid down my eyes. I sniffed and burst into uncontrollable tears. It sucked to be miserable and a princess at that. The words of that witch replayed in my head, and I couldn’t help but let the tears fall freely. To be put in a position like that, it’s so unfair. “Princess Hazel, I heard from one of the maids that you were rejected by a mere rogue,” Lady Victoria sassed

  • The Werewolf Princess Rogue Bodyguard Is Her Mate   Chapter 4

Hazel's POV The morning sun sipped through the open castle windows, the brightness filled the entire hallway; my heels clicked on the stone floor as I stomped ahead with no particular destination in mind. Remy, my bodyguard kept pace beside me. I paused and hurriedly ran my eyes around to check if anyone was coming this way. I returned my gaze back at him, and he only had an unreadable expression on his face."You just stood like a statue while Damian insulted me, " I spat, my voice rising. “Do you even know what being a bodyguard means?”Remy's eyebrows arched. “My job is to protect you from danger, not dictate your love life.”I scoffed in disbelief. “Oh, so it's not danger when a man steals a kiss from me without consent?” Watching him closely, he didn't seem to be affected by my sudden outburst; rather, he just stood still with a tired expression on his face. Almost like he was fed up with our conversation. Idiot! His eyes not leaving mine, he said. “Clearly, you weren't dyin

  • The Werewolf Princess Rogue Bodyguard Is Her Mate   Chapter 3

Damian's POV I overheard some castle maids talking about Hazel's near death incident, and without hesitating, I had to rush down to be by her side. Princess Hazel and I have been friends for like forever, and our parents are pretty close because my father's the beta of the pack. "Who on earth are you, and what are you doing in the princesses chambers?” I asked, glaring at the black-haired young man in Hazel's room. He dusted his hands on his milk colored long sleeved shirt and ignored me. I bit my lip hard, trying to take the disrespect, and without hesitating, I blocked his path, ready to attack the moment my wolf felt something off about him. He paused and watched closely. “I only answer to the princess, so get out of my way before I strike you down,” he replied. His pupils were crimson red now. I wanted to talk back, but rather my wolf stayed mute. Acknowledging a higher authority. I coughed and swallowed back the words in my throat. Who on earth is this man?"Damian! What's
