"Sheldon, you really know how to dress for a spin in your car." He commented, his eyes flickering over me.
I made a faux smile. "I drove to a nightclub because I needed to speak to Winter."
"Oh, the same Winter you brought in here last night." He rolled his eyes and leaned on my doorframe. "My friend likes her."
"I don't believe that."
Denzel cleared his throat before offering in a silky voice; "Need help removing that dress? Although, you can wear it all night."
I scoffed. "Why are you suddenly flirting with me? What did that nurse do to you?"
"The nurse doesn't even work on Sundays." He burst my bubble most shockingly.
"Nice move. You made me talk like a crazy woman." I groused kicking my shoes off while I sit on the bed. I really thought he was with her throughout today.
His phone started vibrating in his pocket and he slipped it out.
"This must be a joke. Hunter is calling me. That punk never calls me..." He mumbled.
I felt a lurch in my stomach and it was as if a timer was above my head, driving me to fear.
The realization set in that this was the moment to tell him what happened. At least before I'm too late.
"Denzel, wait!" I got on my feet and walked swiftly to where he was.
"I wasn't gonna pick this anyway. I'm not ready for his nonsense." He smirked shutting his phone down. "What's the matter?"
I shuddered. My palms were sweaty all of a sudden.
"I did something really bad tonight. I wasn't thinking straight."
"Did you lose the car?" He breathed, speaking so softly like he wouldn't mind even if I lost everything he has. "I'm assuming you finished another expensive wine?"
"No... It is much worse. I'm so sorry, Denzel. I know how bad this will be in our plan."
"Now, you're scaring me. What did you do?"
"It's about the club where I went. I was sitting on my own and Hunter suddenly showed up from nowhere. I decided to entertain him because he has seen me multiple times in that club...I was afraid he would expose me—"
"It's okay if you talk to him. It's nothing to feel guilty about." He cut in, turning around to leave my room.
"We got caught up in the moment and we fucked each other." I broke the silence.
He paused, not giving up any energy or response for the last minute.
"What?" He looked at me, on the edge about what he just learned.
"I didn't take the warnings when he led me to a quiet room. I just thought I was accommodating. I lost my guard and we did it."
He moved away from me, staring at the floor like it better understands what was going on here. His shoulders were tense and he smirked at intervals.
"You did this with my cousin without even thinking of the consequences? You should have just told me in the morning how you have plans of being tight with him. Maybe I would have set up something secluded to hide your identity. This is fucked up because he knows it's you. My fiancee, shit, you're supposed to be my woman in this whole plan."
My heart was heavy. I might have ruined everything by just being so stupid.
"Denzel, I'm so sorry."
"I'm sorry too for putting you in a position where you can't do what you want. I was wrong to think you can hold it together. This deal is off."
I was filled with sadness.
With his body turned away from me, I couldn't see him further. It was all blurry because my eyes had watered. My nose stung because I was driving into tears. I cried because of my mistakes. How disappointing I always turn out.
I didn't think of Denzel while I was with Hunter but now, he is the one involved and hurting in this mess.
I finally slept off sometime at midnight. I was mostly thinking about what I'd done and when I get to disappear from his life.
In the morning, I had to get ready for lectures. I fed my cat, candy and dropped more of his food to have later in case I return really late.
Denzel was already gone before I could wake up. I canceled the idea of meeting him in his office after classes. I wouldn't want to cause more damage than I've already done.
On entering the hall, my girlfriends, Birdie and Cali already saved me a seat. We are only acquainted with each other because we study the same course but they weren't entirely close as everyday friends.
I couldn't ignore their loud voices calling my name so I rushed to sit next to them.
Their funny conversations filled the air as we waited for the lecturer to come into the hall.
"Just look at that man's outfit. He is so hot." Cali whispered fanning her face with her notebook.
"I want some of that meat." Birdie seductively purred.
I smiled staring at the man who was writing on the board.
"Why aren't you saying anything, Sheldon? We have always wanted to do a foursome with that man. Don't tell me you're now having cold feet." Birdie teased me.
"Yeah, she's literally the worst among us although she dresses so modestly." Cali cajoled with a chuckle.
"I'm just not feeling it today, guys. I had a shitty weekend." I mumbled.
"We'll cheer you right up, girl! Our dearest professor asked us to grab dinner with him later. You're coming, right?"
"Yes, won't miss it." I grinned. "Let's not forget to tease him if he's been working out."
"Girl, you know what's up!" Cali squealed.
After a couple of running around in college, I met up with Birdie and Cali and we prepared to go for the date with the lecturer.
While leaving our last lecture for the day, I was speechless upon seeing a replica of Denzel's car stop in front of the building. I had high hopes it was him but they were quickly dashed when two girls came down from the ride. It wasn't Denzel and it wasn't his car.
Cold shivers ran all over me again.
During the dinner, my friends couldn't stop being a nuisance. I thought their flirting routine with the lecturer was over until Birdie started twerking right beside him.
My eyes almost popped out of their sockets. I didn't know their obsession with him had gotten to this extent.
The professor was nervous and trying his best to make her stop.
We only liked his physique, not his entire character. His body made us want him as our sugar daddy.
"Please, sit down, Birdie. People might see us." The lecturer said fixing his glasses.
There was literally no one else in the restaurant except for the lady behind the counter. That's our luck or we would get canceled.
"Sure, sir. I'll sit down." Birdie bemoaned before sitting on his thigh. I choked on my drink.
Since when did these girls become so brave to play with him like this? We have only been observing from the sidelines.
Cali was smiling so satisfied. "Oh, professor. How do you have time to study and also work out those big muscles of yours? They're so thick just like the bulge in your pants."
"I like men with a bulge in their pants." Birdie teased and started rocking him perfectly on where she sat on his thigh.
"Oh, my goodness. Birdie...you can't continue. Please, stop." The poor professor cried out.
"We are so lucky he's not married," I muttered.
"He's been divorced twice." Cali mouthed showing me two of her fingers.
Oh.
"I'll stop only if you agree to come to that hotel I told you about this weekend." Birdie negotiated.
"Fine, I'll come!" He shrieked.
"Good man." Birdie kissed his nose before sitting down on her chair.
I looked under the table in awe to see his lengthy bulge increase bigger than before. He's also lucky he's got a car right outside.
"Sir, you'll pay for everything right?"
"Ah...yes." He stuttered bringing out his wallet.
I beat him to it and brought out my card. "I'll handle the bills."
My friends looked at me, surprised. I've never offered to sort anything out before.
Well, there's a first time for everything.
After the crazy date with my friends, I went home in a taxi. Checking my calendar, I found out I was going to my boutique tomorrow morning just to entertain Lena, Rehan's wife. She'll be coming and I needed to be there in person. Great.
I got into the living room and noticed Denzel's clothes and some feminine clothes scattered on the couch and on the ground. A very loud female scream and moans of pleasure were coming from upstairs.
It was so loud that I liked it. I slept on the couch reminiscing what exactly happened between me and Hunter in that room full of paintings. I thought of it in full detail.
I woke up on the couch still surrounded by clothes. That was enough to make me less stressed. Denzel was still home. I had hopes of meeting him and maybe, apologizing once more but those thoughts were dashed when I went up to his room and I heard skins slapping and low moans from whomever the girl he brought home was. They were still on it, even up to this morning? I wondered if he remembered he had work to go to. I retreated to the door and left. I didn't drive. Taking a taxi might distract me from grilling about Denzel all day because I'll be using his gift — the car to move around.I arrived at the boutique. I wasn't expecting to see Lena already waiting for me. I guessed she really wanted to meet me."Hi, Lena. It's so good to see you." I gushed. "Likewise." She smiled."I think you'll love our newest arrivals." The sales representative took her to the collection and I stood aside, watching her pick the most expensive ones and of course, her preference."I'm so happy you're ok
I sat on the chair, waiting for Denzel to come. Rehan's house was more homely than I thought. There were toys everywhere and framed baby photos of their kids hanging on all sides of the wall. I was offered wine but declined because I had enough at the house party. I picked up my phone and scrolled through the photos Denzel and i took at the bridge. They were so stunning, I was starting to think I could be a model. "Sheldon, she wants to see you." Rehan said standing at the landing of the stairs. Mutely, I followed him up to Lena's room. She was lying on the bed, wasted and her face dug on the mirror."Are you alright?" I asked softly and she grabbed my wrist."My earrings. I put them in your purse when we were still at the house. Can I have them back?" She asked stretching her hand.I nodded and checked my purse. Her diamond earrings were in there. I took them and put it back in her palm."Here you go." I said smiling at her."I'm going to be In so much trouble." She chuckled mania
His silence was only for a second before the sound of his phone ringing blared out the awkward atmosphere. He excused himself to take the call. I was relieved that he didn't expose us."Nice talk. I'll see you around, Sheldon." The ex cheerfully said before leaving. I gathered my stuff and left the beach as well. On getting to the reception with Denzel, we both received gift bags from the staff. I was excited and couldn't wait to see what was in them.At the suite, I had already emptied my gift bag on the bed to see the items. It was a body spray, some towels and golden earrings."This is what I got. What about yours?" I asked Denzel when he sat still watching me."I don't know. I haven't checked." He breathed out."Fine, let me check them, then." I offered reaching for his bag."You can have it. Whatever is In there." He suddenly said, sounding cold and irritated."I didn't want to have them. I just wanted to see what's inside.""You've had my father, my cousin, what is stopping you
"This is stupid, I shouldn't be taken your damn advice. I don't know if this meeting and trips is worth the risk and time." Denzel complained as we went to the conference hall together. He was dressed in his formal suit and ready to go with his phones and laptop in his hand.Last night was difficult to live through considering what's going on in his office."Trust me on this. You're making the right decision. Your father should be man enough to control things while you're not there." I encouraged."I turned my phone on silent so that I wouldn't get his phone calls about arresting you." He grumbled."You should know he has always wanted me out of his family. We can't blame him." I replied, grinning. The meeting started and like a champ, Denzel convinced the team to invest in his new project. For the first time in a while, I was happy to be his fiance. When the meeting was over, I didn't expect Denzel to hug me tightly because of how successful it went.A few days later, we were on our
A calm song was playing from the speakers in the clinic. I waited patiently in the bathroom to see the results of the pregnancy test I took.Waiting for a lab result will take more time so I decided to try the two options I had. After scrolling through my phone for a couple of minutes, I finally looked into the kit lying on the sink.Shivers ran through me as I peered at the object. My heart racing on what could be the outcome of this."Negative," I whispered to myself, loving that word for the first time. I wasn't expecting a baby anytime soon. I wasn't experiencing pregnancy symptoms. I took the kit and stepped outside of the bathroom after washing both hands."It's negative!" I cheerfully said waving it before Hunter who turned flustered because of the many eyes watching. The nurses were staring and I just exposed myself in front of the other patients."I don't know how this is a good news." He breathed out."What do you mean? You wanted me to be pregnant?" I asked dumfounded."I w
Denzel wasn't looking at me. He didn't spare me a glance to notice I was sick. All he cared about was going to his parents.I got ready anyway and masked my face with enough makeup. I didn't want to look like I was dying soon. The drugs were helping and I could take steps more easily. The limousine arrived and Denzel went in a bit too quickly. I was starting to wonder if there was an emergency with the mighty Morgans. When we hit the road, I poured out my mind; "Denzel, I don't want to go through with this engagement anymore. I'm going to call it off and don't worry, I'll be the one to break it off in front of your family.""What? Why should you be the one to call it off?" He questioned.I wasn't expecting that to be the first thing he says."You want to be the one to call it off? I have an image to protect. It'll make you look like the innocent and sensible one. They'll all think I was a gold digger and you were smart enough to get rid of me before we tie the knot. You're not the onl
"What is it?" I asked turning around. I got a perfect view of his wet body and the water dripping from his hair. It reminded me of how much I wanted to have him then."Do you really think this tie will look good on the shirt? I've worn it once but I wasn't so sure..."I blinked like it would help me understand him better. "Is that really what you wanted to ask me?" I was puzzled thinking of a way to launch at him for the anxiety I had to face because he sounded stern."I'm just joking. That is not what I wanted to ask you." He chuckled and put down the tie. "Are you and Hunter in a relationship? Did you know him before I came along?"Now, that's the question I was hoping for. He knows Hunter was here in his house — alone with me. I figured that out soon."No, he's only trying to be friends. And I'm not leading him on. He obviously knows I'm engaged to his cousin. He can't do something silly knowing that.""That doesn't sound genuinely honest because he still had something to do with y
I was out of the school clinic and taken to the office where Denzel was. I thought he'd be at work but I thought wrong. He came a few minutes after I made the call."What trouble have you gotten into, my little bee?" He asked taking my hand and looking at my knuckles."Bee? Why'd you call me that?" I blurted wondering why he was suddenly sweet. Sweeter than he used to be."You stung two girls with your tail this evening even though you were outnumbered."My ears perked up. "Those two girls were hospitalized, weren't they? I warned them before they started throwing punches. They got what they deserved. You should be proud to have a strong fiancee." I was all smug and happy despite the many stitches and bandaid all over me."I thought you were gonna get sued. But the director got it all covered. He's a friend of my mom's. You're not getting into any trouble. Those girls will get punished accordingly." He assured me and I slowly withdrew my hand from his."What makes you think it's your
