POV 3

His heart ached deeply at the anger directed at him. He had missed her so much, and the only one in his mind was Cassandra.

“I cannot forgive your insolence, Sir Moonclaire. Coming to someone else and striking him like that!”

Cassandra’s voice snapped him back to reality, leaving him powerless. He hated seeing her like this.

“…I’m Sebastian.” He pressed his hand against his chest. “I came here because I missed you, Sandra.”

He tried to step forward, but then he saw Cassandra being pulled to Dylan’s side. The sight made his blood surge violently, he hated it.

He wanted to strike that man again and again, but Cassandra was right there, standing beside him. The closeness they showed terrified Sebastian, afraid that she might truly belong to Dylan.

He fell silent, forcing himself to stay composed, not wanting Cassandra to hate him even more.

Alden stood nearby, his expression tense and uncertain. This time he had seen with his own eyes the woman who looked so much like Cassandra. Bu

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 254

CassandraJust by watching the snow continue to fall outside, I can already feel the cold. I know it isn’t as severe as before, but still, I haven’t given Miles permission to go outside.I hold his hand and sit in the living room, where the large Christmas tree glows with its decorative lights. The Christmas atmosphere still feels warm, even though it’s just the two of us.Miles straightens his clothes, a green sweater like a Christmas tree and a red hat. I’m wearing the same as him, making sure that we truly share the same happiness. The Christmas songs we play make the holiday atmosphere even stronger. Since Miles was not even a year old, he has celebrated Christmas with a wide smile. I still remember—back then, he peed on Dylan’s clothes, and everyone laughed at the incident. Now, it’s just the two of us. In front of the Christmas tree, we take photos. It feels a little different, but the two of us remain inseparable.Maybe trying to convince myself that this truly doesn’t affect m

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 253

CassandraPreparing for Christmas wasn’t as hectic as in previous years because there were no guests at all to welcome. I mean, not as many as the Kingsley family used to have in the past. Here, I don’t have many friends. Just coworkers who know me on a surface level. Even so, I don’t feel empty at all. I have Miles and Nakka. Genna had to return to her hometown because she needed to see her children and grandchildren. She wanted to stay here, but I encouraged her to go home. Having a family is something wonderful. And to fill my quiet time without any work, aside from playing with Miles, I’ve grown fond of watching dramas on my tablet.Enjoying this calm moment gives me the chance to understand other things. Sometimes, as I watch the drama I’m following, I wonder whether something extraordinary like what happens to them will ever happen to me.I set my tablet down and walk toward the window when something white catches my attention. The first snowfall, so peaceful to look at. My brea

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 252

CassandraI had taken care of him for two days, and it felt relieving to finally be free from having to care for him anymore. He had recovered. And all day long, I didn’t see him at all. I managed it very well, leaving before breakfast and coming home earlier than usual, so after playing with Miles, I went straight to my room to rest, and perhaps it could be said that I was hiding from him.I was just a little scared to meet him. Maybe that’s how it could be described. When he hugged me without a shirt on, I could feel his skin so clearly. His strong, warm body, his distinctive scent… ah, I could remember that moment so vividly.Especially his scent, that was what made me unable to trust myself. How could I remember it so clearly, as if it were deeply embedded in my consciousness?I didn’t want to assume that it happened because I still had feelings for him.Unsure of myself, I avoided him. My heart was anxious, it was terrifying to make the same mistake again.Fortunately, until the

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 251

SebastianIt had been two days since I lay in my room because I was sick, feverish. In my entire life, I had never acted spoiled just because of a fever; I even kept going to work. But right now, showing myself to be weak and a little spoiled wasn’t a problem.“Wouldn’t it be better if you were treated at the hospital instead?” Alden’s voice was extremely annoying to me.My gaze, which had been directed at Cassandra standing in the corner of my room getting a drink, immediately shifted to Alden.“You would recover faster.”“Be quiet, Alden,” I ordered him.The smile on his face was irritating. I knew exactly what he was doing, he was trying to tease me.As Cassandra walked toward me, I glared at Alden, warning him not to ruin my happiness.I did lie to Cassandra, enjoying the way she treated me. Every time she checked on my condition, I realized that she still cared about me. Based on that, I thought I might be able to bring our relationship even closer.“This is your water.” She hand

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 250

CassandraAs the warmth of his body spread to me, I felt my heart beating wildly, as if it were about to burst out of my chest. I struggled to breathe; panic rose as my hands tried to push him away, but Sebastian held them back. His smile was sweet—yeah, that was the judgment I automatically gave it. And that sweet smile felt like a weapon, one that made me unable to refuse anything he did.He placed my hand on his cheek, then spoke softly, fucking making me lose control even more.“Feel it. Do I really have a fever?” His brow furrowed slightly; the way he responded showed he was teasing me. “You’re so attentive to me, Sandra. Even I didn’t realize it.”His words left me standing there for a long moment, as if I were defeated, because I myself didn’t even understand why I noticed that this man had a fever. It’s been so long since I kept paying attention to his every move. I thought it had been ages since I would know anything about him the way I used to.Not wanting to admit my defeat

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 249

CassandraI was reading a book at the time when I heard Miles screaming. I got up quickly, rushed outside, and made sure I hadn’t misheard the sound at all.It truly was Miles’s scream. It made my entire body tense. With everything that has happened so far, I have treated Sebastian kindly, allowing him to meet Miles often, especially because he once donated his bone marrow to Miles.Thinking about all of that, if he behaved well, I would allow him to maintain a good relationship with Miles, all while remaining unaware that he is actually Miles’s real father. This morning, because Miles wanted to go there, I allowed it. But that scream made me so angry and anxious. If he did anything to Miles, then I would truly do something terrible to him.I moved quickly and forcefully opened the door to his house.“What did you do to Miles, Sebastian?!”“MOM!” Miles’s scream shattered me.I stared at Miles, who was crying uncontrollably. He looked utterly panicked, and it made me clench my hands ti
