Chapter 95

Cassandra

Watching him relax and get closer to Miles was something I absolutely disliked. Dylan didn’t like it either. He’d been restraining himself for a while, clenching his fists, before finally getting involved in their unsettling little interaction.

“He doesn’t like it, Milo. Give it to Dad.”

He guided Miles’s hand toward his own mouth, taking a big bite of the red velvet cake. I knew he didn’t want to give Sebastian a chance, but the man didn’t stay still. Sebastian grabbed Dylan’s wrist, and their eyes locked.

This was definitely not going to end well.

Both of them had such different personalities, yet right now they looked exactly the same, stubborn, childish, and reckless. From their seats, they stood up, still holding each other’s hands.

“I already told you, you shouldn’t be here.”

“Ugh… you bastard—”

Their voices were low, muffled with effort to stay calm, but the tension was sharp, their jaws clenched tight.

I had no doubt they could start throwing punches and

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 94

chapter 94SebastianWhat I wanted was to finish this quickly. When she issued threats, I became furious. It seemed I had been too soft on her, and that’s why she acted like this.I had made many mistakes and didn’t want to make her life any harder. Those threats would only cause trouble for her, especially since Cassandra was busy with Miles’s treatment.I knew she probably didn’t want to be here, but because this was about Miles, she stayed in the city.Wanting to win Cassandra back, I had to protect her properly and do the right thing. I decided Isabella couldn’t be left alone; I had to shut her up.I intended to send her far away. It couldn’t be denied that we had been through a lot together, even when she was in a coma I watched over her to make sure she survived. In a new place she could begin that miserable life anew, without being able to trouble Cassandra. But even my good intentions weren’t taken into account, she escaped the confinement I had arranged.Everything seemed to

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 93

Chapter 93 IsabellaI don’t want to give up everything I’ve had.Sebastian may have cast me out, he’s made me suffer by cutting off everything he once gave me. The black card I used to have no longer works, my job has ended, and our wedding has been postponed.I’m sure he’s just angry. Love like that couldn’t possibly fade so quickly. Since the moment I approached Sebastian, he’s always hated Cassandra. Every time he looked at her, his eyes flashed with fire.I can’t stand the thought of Sebastian being deceived by that woman. He tried to chase after her.I held his hand until he looked at me. Just like before, he was still angry.“I made a mistake by lying to you,” I said. “But that woman has lied to you far more than I ever did.”It’s true. I can’t imagine why I have to be in this position. Any man would risk danger for my sake. His hand moved—not to embrace me, but to grab my face in a tight grip. “How dare you come here and disturb her.”The fury in his voice pierced through me.

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 92

Chapter 92CassandraIn truth, I admired this woman. She had an extraordinary confidence that made many men drawn to her. Now, I’ve come to realize that what she showed me was envy. She always seemed jealous of me; those sharp eyes of hers made me smirk.“You are Cassandra. That irritating attitude of yours, and that annoying demeanor, I know them all too well.”Her raised voice this time had no effect on me. In the past, I would have felt doubt and fear. I would often feel guilty and try to calm her down.“You always want what I want. A liar, and shameless. Someone envious of me.”I began to feel angry at her words, words that never reflected on what she had done. Shouldn’t she be asking herself all of that?Again and again, she only wanted to blame everything on me. Just like before, when she called me to talk privately, only to trap me, deliberately tearing her skirt and throwing herself into the pool.It had been shocking, and after that, she managed to get the men on her side. • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 91

Chapter 91CassandraAfter spending several days under heavy pressure that often left me stressed, this time I was finally back to doing my work. Liza handed me the documents she had finished, which then led us to meet with several witnesses.Beside me, Liza recorded the conversations so she could listen to them again later, while I focused on every detail I needed.I tried to forget what had happened in the past few days, and those tangled thoughts slowly faded away, but without realizing it, I let out a heavy sigh through my lips as Liza and I sat in a café to take a break.“Why haven’t you married Sir Dylan yet, Ma’am?” Liza suddenly asked, startling me enough that I glanced at her.Judging from her actions all this time, she really did support my relationship with Dylan. She often encouraged us to get closer, to do things together.I took a breath before answering, but Liza spoke again. “I’m sorry if it seems like I’m prying. But sometimes you look confused, even though to me, you

  • The Wife He Never Wanted   Chapter 90

Cassandra“Is it true that Dad is picking us up today?” Miles asks me, his arms stretched out to make it easier for me to put his gray shirt on.Today, he looks so happy after hearing my explanation. Just as I told them yesterday, today I’ll be leaving this suffocating place.… Or I could say that a few of my pleasant memories remain here, but they only weigh heavily on me. When I first came here, I was so happy and thought we would become a happy family. The rest was only pain.“Yeah, Dylan will pick us up.” I button up his shirt and smile. He doesn’t say anything else for a while. When I glance at him, he seems to be deep in thought, his brow slightly furrowed.“Then what about Uncle?”I blink, still not quite believing what he just asked. He’s asking about the man he’s only spent a few times with. From his expression, I can see sadness there.I take a small breath. “Why? Do you like him that much?”He nods. After hearing his answer, I regret asking. Thinking about it now, these pas
