As we were laying there, I felt a burning sensation on the other side of my neck. I asked, “What’s happening?” He felt the burning too and replied, “We’re getting our dragon marks.” The burn was done in less than a minute, but I was confused, “But you marked me while we were mating.” He sighed, “Well, you know that my mom is a hybrid, right?” I nodded and he continued, “I am too. So is Levi. Saphira is straight wolf and an oracle.” I giggled, “She won’t be straight wolf for long.” He laughed, “I guess not.” I smiled, “I am fine with all of that. I love you for you, Elliot. I know your animals are big part of who you are, so I love them too.” He held me tighter, “We love you too. We have a lot to catch up on. But tonight, we just need to be together. Nothing else. Anything serious can wait for morning.”
I woke the next morning to the sound of birds chirping and sunlight streaming through the curtains. Our first night together was pure bliss. We spent the entire night wrapped up in each other, exploring every inch of each other. I know it was a night that I will always remember. I started to get out of bed when I felt something tighten around my waist. I giggled softly and tried to move again, then I hear Elliot’s sexy sleepy voice, “Where do you think you’re going my beautiful mate?” I chuckled, “I have to use the bathroom. Then I should probably take my shower. I would love to explore our home today.” Elliot groaned, “Do we have to? I would love to just stay in bed all day.” I laughed, “I’m sorry, my prince, I need you to show me where everything is. This is a huge house.”
I got out of bed and looked around the room, “Starting with the bathroom. Where is it?” He laughed, “It’s in between those two closets.” I walked to the bathroom and started the shower while I used the restroom. As soon as the water was warm enough, I stepped in. I realized that I didn’t bring anything with me. I shrugged and held out my hand. My shampoo appeared in my hands and I applied some to my hair, then sat the bottle on the shelf. I did the same with all the rest of my bath products as I used them. When I got out of the shower, I dried off, then wrapped my body in a towel. I walked to the sink and waved to the counter. All the rest of my toiletries appeared in front of me, and I was super happy. After I finished with my morning hygiene, I stood in front of the full-length mirror and said to myself, “I think just some leggings and a t-shirt will work today.” I lifted my arms and all of my clothes appeared on my body.
I stepped out of the bathroom, and Elliot was looking just a bit sad. I furrowed my brows, “What’s wrong?” He sighed, “I was hoping to see you in a towel.” I laughed, “We have the rest of our lives for that. I had to just use magic to get dressed today. I didn’t bring any of my clothes.” He laughed, “I guess that makes sense. Let me take a shower, and I will be right out.” I told him, “I’m going to find the kitchen and fix us some breakfast.” He laughed, “I haven’t put any food in here yet. That’s something else we’re going to have to do today. Go to the grocery store.” I shook my head and decided to conjure up some breakfast. I’m starving, so I know he is. I walked to the kitchen and looked around.
I absolutely love our home. The walls are all exposed logs and the railing going upstairs is wrought iron. The floors are cedar, my favorite, and the walls that are on the inside are just plain white, which is fine with me. My kitchen is huge, with a log island and white granite waterfall top. I have all stainless-steel appliances, and a pot-filler faucet over my stove. I am totally in love. He really did think of everything. I found a door just off of the kitchen and found that it was a pantry the size of a small bedroom! I am totally in love. It had a rough edge wood countertop with drawers under it. I am so making this a coffee bar! I made a mental note to ask Elliot if he wants to shop for all the extra stuff I want in here or if I should just use magic. Personally, I prefer to support local businesses, but I will leave that to my mate.
I walked to the kitchen and found silverware, plates, and glasses. For now, that’s all I need. I set two places on the table, then pointed and filled each plate with steak, eggs, hashbrowns and toast. I put a butter dish and a jar each of grape jelly, strawberry jam, and apple jelly. I sat a steaming cup of coffee in front of each of our plates, along with a small glass of orange juice. Right on cue, Elliot walks down the stairs and sees the food on the table, “Mmm… This looks so good.” I laugh, “I can’t take credit for cooking it, since all I did was use my magic, but I really hope you like it.” Elliot smiled, “I’m sure it’s fine. Let’s eat.”
As we ate breakfast, I told him, “I’m in love with the kitchen.” He asked, “Do you like to cook?” I nodded, “I do. I try not to use my magic as much as possible. I like to use my own hands when I create.” He smiled, “I’m glad. As much as I love when you use magic, I’m glad you aren’t totally dependent on it. I love you with or without the whole ‘hocus pocus’ thing.” I laughed, “That is so twentieth century!” When we finished laughing, Elliot got a serious look on his face, “What happened to you for the last four years? You just disappeared. I was so scared that I would never see you again. Then you came back looking all grown up and smoking hot.” I giggled, “I had to go away for intensive training on my magic. There is something you should know about me, that I think my mom would be able to explain best. Why don’t we go grocery shopping, and we can invite her here for lunch?” Elliot smiled, “Sounds great.” I grabbed my phone, and texted mom. She agreed to come out for lunch. Then I asked Elliot, “Would you rather we shop in town for the small appliances that I would like, or should I just use my magic.” Elliot smiles, “If it’s okay with you, I would prefer to support local businesses.” I smiled, “You read my mind.” He grinned, “There is a chef supply store in town that my mom swears by. She loves it. We can go there today.” I smiled, “You’re so sweet!”
He finished showing me around our house, and I fell even deeper in love with it. The house has eight bedrooms! It also has a theater room in the basement! I just love it. When we finished the tour, I had an idea of what I needed for the house and we left.
I hope he doesn’t think less of me after he hears what my mom has to tell him.
Twenty Years Later I’m sitting in my favorite spot with my mate sitting behind me in my favorite lounge chair. We are both drinking our morning coffee as two mountain lions walked up to the deck. They both bowed to us, and I smiled, “Good morning, Dusty. Good morning, Lilly.” Dusty found his mate in his own pack on his sixteenth birthday. We had a party for him that night and he introduced her to all of us. She is such a sweet girl I really couldn’t wish for anything better for him. Robert and Katie are so proud of them. They had four children and they only have two still at home. I am so proud of the parents they are. The two children that have already found their mates and left are absolutely awesome. Linden found his mate and decided to build another house close to our land. His mate understands that he needs to be close to family and his siblings are all he has left. His father passed away when my triplets were only two years old. It was an extremely hard time for him. We made s
Robert and Katie laughed and shook their heads as Robert smiled, “Now that would make me rethink my choice to be a parent.” I laughed, “I think she did.” Just then, Calista ran out onto the deck, “Good morning, mom.” She sat in my lap and hugged me tightly. I turned her around and introduced her to them. She smiled, “It’s very nice to meet my Uncle Dusty’s parents. I love him so much!” Katie smiled, “I’m so glad you love him, Calista.” I asked Calista, “Is anyone else up?” She smiled, “Dad is up with Raze and Eva.” I laughed, “Is Willow awake yet?” She shook her head, “She was sleeping peacefully when I came out.” I smiled, “Thank you. I guess you would like some breakfast, huh?” She smiled and shook her head shyly. I smiled, “Okay.” Then I turned to Robert and Katie, “Would you like to join us?” They agreed and followed me and Calista into the house. I cooked a big breakfast and had it all laid on the table. As soon as it was all prepared, it sounded like a herd of horses coming down
When Taylor was done feeding the boys, Evan and I took the boys in the living room to visit with everyone else. Uncle Dax was the first to hold out his arms. Evan smiled as he held out the first baby boy, “You are now holding Cain, and the boy mom is holding is Dylan.” After Doctor Harper was done with Taylor, I walked with her to another guest room in the house and smiled, “I remember how all I wanted after all that was to take a shower. Is that what you would like?” She replied, “Definitely.” I smiled, “You go ahead and take a shower. That shower has a bench in it so you can sit. I would highly recommend using it. I will get you some clothes.” I opened the closet door and found a perfect pair of soft sweatpants and a t-shirt that looked lusciously oversized. I grabbed a pair of underwear and a bra and put them on the bed. When Taylor walked out of the bathroom in a towel, I asked, “Feeling better?” She smiled, “That did feel better.” I got you a comfy pair of sweats and an oversized
Seven months later… Taylor and Evan are staying in the guest house with dad and Linden. Taylor wants me to be there for her when she gives birth. She’s afraid Evan is going to pass out. Evan agrees with her, but he still wants to be there for her and to see his babies being born. He swears we will try his hardest to stay conscious. We all laugh and Elliot smiles, “I don’t blame you, dude. I almost passed out a few times.” We were all eating breakfast one morning when Taylor gasped, “Oh dear. I’m pretty sure I’m in labor.” I smiled, “Evan, you need to be keeping track of how far apart the contractions are. Let us know when they are around five minutes apart. Taylor, you need to tell him when each contraction starts and ends. Okay?” She nodded in reply and I called Doctor Harper. Doctor Harper said she would start driving here now, so we will be ready. Wow. The whole family showed up! Within 2 hours, Elliot and I were sitting in the living room with dad, my mom, Evan’s parents, Aidint
I laughed, “I understand completely.” Calista smiled, “I can sing for you, Uncle Dusty.” He looked at me and I nodded, “Trust me… You want to hear this.” Dusty nodded, “I would love to hear you sing.” Calista started singing the most beautiful and relaxing song I have ever heard and Dusty looks so relaxed and happy. When the song ends, Dusty chuckles, “Calista, you are awesome!” She smiles proudly, “I’m a mermaid/wolf hybrid and an omega. My mom and dad rescued me from my old alpha. He kept me in a tiny room under the stairs in his packhouse. He was planning on marking and mating me. They rescued me just in time.” Dusty asked, “What happened to your family?” She looked down at her hands in her lap, “My old alpha killed my parents and my brother. My parents hid me, but I saw him rip my brother’s head off. But I have mom and dad now and I have the best family ever. I have LOTS of uncles and grandparents and now I have a brother and SISTERS! I really am a lucky girl.” Dusty pulled her clo
One week later… Mom spent the night with us last night because mommy, daddy and sister all needed to get a full night of sleep. We were all starting to get quite cranky. I don’t think I was ever more thankful for my mom when she offered to stay overnight. After feeding the babies at eight pm, I went straight to bed. I think Calista went to bed before I did and Elliot was waiting for me in bed when I got there. We all slept like rocks and I didn’t wake up the entire night. It was my best night’s sleep since the night before I gave birth to all of them. Don’t get me wrong, I love all three of my newborns. But they are definitely little sleep robbers! Ladies, let me give you a bit of advice. When other women tell you to sleep when they sleep, LISTEN! Trust me, it makes perfect sense. If the things you need to do can wait, do it. They have been wearing us all out. Raze has an insatiable appetite. We were at the grocery store yesterday, and a little older lady heard Raze’s hungry screams.
