Strang island

Lyra's POV

As I peacefully dozed on my soft bed, Layla, my faithful dog, rested by my side. Suddenly, Layla's ears perked up, and she fixed her gaze on the window. Intrigued, I listened as whispers of my name floated in from outside. A chill ran down my spine when I caught sight of a shadowy, winged figure swooping past the window. Knowing Layla was seconds away from barking, I hushed her, not wanting to wake my father. Tentatively, I left Layla indoors and ventured outside, spotting the enigmatic creature standing near a tree.

As the creature transformed into Catherine, she greeted me with a simple "Hi," followed by a polite response from me. "Our last conversation was cut short. Can we continue?" Catherine inquired.

Unconvinced, I sternly remarked, "I'm not interested in conversing with someone who claims to be my deceased mother."
