Sophie

Beatrice gave me a tour of the rooftop pool, the Sky Bar, the work pods and every angle that people would refer to as the “chill zone” here in WeillTech.

I can’t even lie or deny the fact that this place is unbelievably luxurious. Clearly no expense has been spared at WeillTech.

She doesn’t slow down as we walk, heels clicking confidently against the marble floors.

“Where’s Alexander?” I blurted out.

Shouldn’t he be around here? This is like the third floor and there’s been no sigh of him.

“He’s in a meeting with Derrick and his mother but they should be finished any minute.”

Oh.

Katherine Weillman. My stomach twisted at the sound of her name. She’s worse than her child and the few times we’ve met, she was nothing but cold. She really did think I was a nobody and—

“We operate in places that don’t like attention…and I’m guessing you’d flourish here cause you seem like you hate the attention.”

Damn, is it really written on my face? I forced a smile and looked to my left.

Sophie I know I’m supposed to meet my uncle, but instead I find myself standing across from his wife, Elsie.“You don’t have to pretend you’re not hungry,” she teased. “You know I always have a meal made.”As she said that, she reached to remove the white apron she had on when I first walked in.The whole area had a great scent; thanks to her exclusive cooking skills. “I know that,” I smiled. As she turned, I followed. “I’ll help with what I can.”Although she’s been married to Uncle Peter for over 30 years, we’ve not exactly shared a lot of time together. Her children were always overseas and it was such a chore to come around, but whenever Uncle Peter requested to see me, I found myself running here. I was feeling slightly awkward standing in their kitchen like an alien but I’d rather help here than sit there alone. “How long is he uh— is he going to take?”“Just a few more minutes,” she said. “Let’s go over to the dining room.”A moment of silence followed. Elsie is such a lov

SophieGlad this was about to be over, I reached for my iPad on the table. He turned, looking at everyone in what seemed like a final moment. “Any questions?”My team all shook their heads.“Very well, you’re excused.” But then he turned to me. “Except you, Ms. Kellerman. I’d like a word.”My eyes narrowed. “Of course.” When everyone walked out through the room, he used his finger to scratch his beard gently, “Shut the door, Sophie.” “Why?” I asked him. “Alexander, I have a press release to write. I don’t have time to stroke your ego.” “Shut. The. Goddamn. Door,” he growled. This must better be worth it. I rolled my eyes as I push it shut.“There. What?”“You’ve got to stop acting like you hate me in public,” he said stepping closer. He stopped right before he could come any closer but I just stood there looking at him. “I don’t hate you,” I told him calmly. “I just can’t stand your mistress.”He chuckled lightly. In just four seconds I’ve noticed five significant things that

Alexander It’s already annoying that she isn’t here yet. I’ve spent the past seven minutes reading, actually staring at the files on my table. The meeting is in about three minutes and she’s meant to be here. Her personal assistant is but she’s not and it just makes me wonder… was last night such a moment that she’d really miss work?I groaned as I adjusted myself beneath the mahogany table. In all my thirty seven years, I’ve never met a woman who can push my buttons like Sophie can. She’s a raving bitch more often than not, but just the thought of her makes me hard. The woman loathes me, no doubt, but I obviously have the same effect on her. She wants me, whether she likes it or not. I’m not sure if she even realizes it, but her lips part anytime she looks at me like she’s thinking about kissing me. It took a moment for me to realize it but I think I know what she saw. It could be the messages sent… I had forgotten to archive them after delivering but that’s okay, I can always

Sophie As I sat in front of my mirror, styling my hair, I'm reminded for the fifth time why I do not want children yet.I was only gone for an hour yesterday, or maybe more but Albert did quite a good job and sometimes I wonder if I can ever do such. “No!!” I yelled the moment I found out Eve was going towards the kitchen. I sprawled up immediately and ran after her, catching up with her and lifting her in my hands. She chuckled, probably thought it’s some game we’re playing. “Come on baby,” I said softly. “We’ve got a long day ahead.”From everything on my tab, I’ll have to get us ready for school and work, grab coffee on my way, drop her off and head to the office. Now, this is where it gets tasking… I have to meet up with Alexander to finalize which of the buildings becomes our base. I know his is bigger, and although I still wish I had proposed a consolidation, I’m aware that what works best for us at this point is a statutory merger. So by the end of this week, Kellerman & c

Alexander Something was wrong. I took one sip from the glass and lowered it on the slab before turning to look at her. I’ve never seen a woman with such intensified sex appeal. It’s almost like she’s naked in every single outfit. “I said yes,” she reiterated. “Why are you calling me?”“Are you okay?” I asked again. “Yes, why?”“Because you’re sweating.” And not just that, it’s making me imagine very wild things right now. I can bet a hundred bucks that her nipples are hard beneath the hoodie. I know I shouldn’t say that but I can’t help the expression on my face and the way my eyes pierce her. She quickly adjusted and dropped my laptop on the table. “I think I need to use the restroom.”She stood up, and walked out of the office but before the door could close behind me, I grabbed her hand and whirled her towards me. “What is it?”“Nothing. Get away from me.” The lump in her throat was visible as she swallowed hard, clenching her jaw as she maintained eye contact with me. “I
