Damon’s POV

Ryan was seated at the far end of the table, the tablet he was working with lit his face while Zeta paced near the window. Mara was beside me, flipping through one of the old record binders Ryan had dug out from the archives in the Beta Registry Office.

“So,” Ryn started, breaking the silence, “what do we actually know about your mother?”

Mara’s fingers stopped flipping. “I don’t really know much,” she said softly. “She was… gentle. I don’t remember her scent or her laugh. I don’t even remember if I ever saw a photo. That’s what makes this so much worse.”

Zeta leaned against the wall, his arms crossed. “Do you remember her wolf perhaps?”

“Yes.” Mara’s eyes were unfocused now. “She was white, pure and bright white. Like the moon. People used to stare when she shifted and she would carry me on her back. I know the color was rare… but now I’ve come to see that it’s like she carried the Goddess’s mark.”

“A white wolf is indeed rare and they have a closer relationship with

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 76 - The Fury Behind My Eyes

Damon’s POV My paws burned hot as I got to the Redwind Gate, the speed had prompted the betas at the gate to open the gates ajar. They were scared and hoped to not fall into the wrath of their Alpha. But I wasn’t here for them at all. I was here for one man, and one man only. My father. I barged right into the fortress, still in my wolf form. I paced round the hall, knowing fully well that my father and brother wouldn't be too far away after my entrance. “Haven't I taught you anything? It is rude to remain in your wolf form in anyone’s house…” My father stated, as he walked towards me with poise and I shifted back into my human form, grabbing a coat by the doorpost, it didn’t quite fit but it would make do for now. “Technically, this is my house.” I barked, “this house and all the workers in it should serve the reigning Alpha.” “How dare you speak to me in that manner?”“How dare me? How dare you father? You kept Marius in the dungeon as opposed to an actual beta prison and

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 75 - We are Missing Something

Damon’s POVI wasn’t comfortable all of a sudden, and I didn’t know why. I began pacing in the living room. Mara simply sat and watched, her mind probably also racing. “I think we’re looking in the wrong place, I can feel it in my bones that we are missing something.” Kai barked. “But I don’t know what it is but I know it’s important.” “Yes, but I don’t even know what particular situation we should be checking right now.” My Alpha senses couldn’t lie but just as the Mage has said, I was holding back too much. That wasn’t because I didn’t want to let go, but because I didn’t trust Kai with some things. An Alpha’s wolf is wise but can also be very dangerous when angered and Kai could be quite aggressive even in my mind. He could also be quite possessive, I looked at Mara. “Are you done pacing and ready to tell me what’s going on in your head?” She asked, standing up from her seat. “I don’t quite know yet but I’d like to go for a night run to clear my mind, would you like to come w

Talia’s POV The house had been quiet but only for a day now, my father had stopped stomping around the house. And the guests and servants knew better than to linger around. Mother’s laughter echoed down the hall as usual, sometimes hysterical, sometimes evil. Often it sounded like both. She was busy humming an old lullaby that I hadn’t heard from her since I was a child. The same song she used to sing when she thought my father wasn’t around or when she remembered a part of herself before her insanity. I had never heard anyone speak of my mother before the madness; not even a single servant from that time remained in this fortress of ours. I had tried severally to picture her before then but I was always unfortunate because it was a dead end for me. The woman was mad… had always been mad to me. “Mother?” I said softly, stepping into her sitting room. She was seated by the window as usual. It was past noon yet she was still in her silk nightgown, it was a tangled mess ar

  • The Wrong Mate, The Right Alpha   Chapter 72 - A Disgrace of an Alpha Princess

Talia’s POV I didn’t cry that night. Not even once. I told myself that I wouldn’t do it, there was no need. I had been humiliated publicly in the most ruthless manner possible and there was nothing I could do to reverse it. It was in front of every member of every pack that mattered in all the regions connected by the old treaty. I had not just been caught having sex with a foolish beta when I could have been set up with the Alpha, I was also caught with a beta who was dabbling with illegal alchemy. Aiden’s betrayal to his pack had been a spark but my own disgrace in the presence of everyone was an inferno for the Stormdawn pack. After they had dragged me from the banquet hall, there were whispers everywhere as I walked but even then I kept my chin high. The daughter of the Stormdawn Alpha showed no weakness. I could not weep in shame. But it was the next morning when the papers came in, one of the omegas had slipped in the tabloid magazines. The most unflattering photo of me
