Quentin said nothing.

She looked up and noticed that his jaw was tense and he had a stern air in him.

Was he angry? Or did he feel embarrassed because she was hanging on him? Iris felt a little regretful. Perhaps she should not have acted so petulantly. Why could she not stay alone?
