After they are done with the class. Which becomes so boring to her thinking about her mother's illness always makes her crazy. They left the classroom and headed to the campus Pious.

"Hi dear, James' voice reaches her ears, as she turns and sees James. James is the most handsome and romantic, kind and lovely boy she has. His dark skin and long curly hair Enchant her.

"How is my girl doing"? he asked

"Perfect"

He sits next to her and places a kiss on her forehead, "You are beautiful as the views of Ancon". He winks at her

For God's sake, are you people trying to make me feel jealous? Isabella questions them. Emma pushed her for bad language.

"You are bitter". James replies. I would like to excuse you guys. I have a class to attend to. Again he places a kiss on her forehead before leaving.

"All good darling". He nods and says goodbye as James walks away from them with his friend.

"Now will you tell me how your mother is fairing"? Isabella questioned her.

Emma sighed heavily and turned to focus on her question. "Mum has a

And she needs surgery as soon as possible. The doctor said the cost of the surgery was ten thousand dollars but I lied to her because I didn't want her to think she was a burden to me. But my only solution now is to meet Mr. Joe, my boss, to lend the money to me and he can collect it from my salary at the end of the month.

"But I have a solution," Isabella whispered in her ear. Sell your virginity.

Hearing this makes Emma frown suspiciously. She chokes on her saliva." You are sick in the head".Isabella. I seriously wondered how I got to know you.

"I have seen a girl that sold her own for about one million Naira". Emma, you have to do that to save your mother.

"How could you suggest something like that?" she demanded. Selling my virginity to another man. James already knows I am still a virgin. She snorts.

Isabella made a balloon with her gum and exploded it without taking her eyes off her."If your concern is because of your boyfriend James". Think coldly, you give your virginity to your so-called James who can't afford the money, leaving your sick mother in the hospital. Isn't it better if you give it to a man who can afford the money and pay the bills?

Emma was stunned by what she said. "How can you think of something so significant like that?"

She rolled her eyes in exasperation, For God's sake, Emma, why can't you wake up from slumber? Do you think giving your virginity to your so-called James will give you the money? Isabella's phone beeps"There is an interested party going on tonight". She showed it to her.

"You are crazy" Must you attend all the parties? Isabella showed her a picture of a man dressed in a jacket. "he doesn't look bad". He will pay off your bills.

Isabella, are you okay? Emma got up from her seat and got away from her Crazy girlfriend.

Isabella growled, I know he is my Ex ex-billionaire husband. But we are not together again. Just do this and save your mother from the misery.

Listening to her friend makes her give a little but taking control of her thoughts and her good sense. "She pointed her index finger". I don't want to hear about that Proposal anymore. Leaving her friend with a dark gesture. She moves away from her. You are so crazy!

Annoying with her. They took the rest of the class sitting separately, at the end, they only crossed one look and each other went to her side.

"You have arrived, " this little girl says to Mr. Joe. Come on, there are many tables to attend to. We must serve twice as much, get that your asshole to attract more customers.

"She snorts, Emma, hates her boss so much. But she has to keep quiet this time around because he is the only solution for now.

Mr. Joe please, can't I talk to you? Emma asked in a low voice.

The fat bald man with dark-colored teeth looks at her." She knows this is unprofessional of her, and she has been working with him since a couple of months ago. Mr. Joe, I need your help. My mother is in the hospital and she needs urgent surgery. Can you lend me Twenty thousand dollars? I swear I will pay every down to the last penny. She asked him without getting to the beginning.

He approached her. "You are a very pretty young lady".He caresses her cheeks as he moves closer to her. "I like your body". He runs his hand down her neck. "If you were mine ". He looks at her with a desired look and causes tremendous disgust.

"You are a disgusting old man, I should not even think of asking you for this money. "She took off her Apron and threw it on his face". Getting more worried than she was before.

"Damn," she cursed, drawing the attention of passers-by. Getting to Isabella's house, she took off her phone and sent a message to her.

"Can you come out?" Not a minute goes by when she sees her friend coming out.

"Have you come to apologize or tell me your sorrows?"

Imagine that man wants to sleep with me. She hiccuped and her friend couldn't stand seeing her frown. She hugged her and wiped her tears. Emma whispered, "I will do it".

Isabella looked at her and smiled. She squints excitedly. You will see that this is the best decision you have ever made.

She nodded, everything was not fine, she just wanted to do this because of her mother.

"The pay is worth it darling".I just want you to be fine and have a better life.

She hugged her friend and kissed her forehead" You are the craziest girl I have ever met.

Emma, I must admit to that but there's always good in it. Now, come on, I will go to the hospital with you to see your mum.

Getting to the hospital. She saw her mum standing beside the window. Why are you standing up? Emma questioned her mother. It's not your fault to be here. One day you will be out of the hospital.

"I know my daughter", but could you take me to a less expensive hospital where you can afford the money for my surgery?

I have gotten the money for the surgery. She just wants to lie to her so she can feel relaxed.

Her mother hugs her and kisses her cheeks. " I don't know what to do without you." God has given me an angel as a daughter", she smiled.

"An Angel that you turn into a demon", she scoffed. She guided her to lay her head on the bed." You have to rest". I will get you something to eat.

She went out to eat, hearing her phone beep. It was Isabella." You must obtain a bank account and once you are done you send the number to this mobile number. She attached the number.

She can't believe she is doing something so crazy and unusual, but it will be something easy right?

The morning came quietly, with the first light spilling through the windows like a gentle invitation. Thomas woke up,for a moment, he stayed in bed, watching Emma as she slept. Her face was peaceful, framed by the soft tangle of her hair. He didn’t want to disturb her. Rising carefully, he dressed and stepped out into the hallway. The house was still and calm. He passed Lily’s room, peeking in to find her sprawled across her bed.Her small snores made him smile. In the living room Thomas sat on the couch savoring the quiet place. These moments had become precious to him, a time to breathe before the day unfolded. Something caught his eye: a picture of three figures standing under a tree, holding hands. A sun and a smiling cloud hovered above them. At the bottom, in wobbly letters, she had written, “My family”. Thomas picked up the drawing, his chest tightening with emotion. This simple piece of art felt like a reflection of everything they’d built together. “Daddy?” Lily’s voi

Thomas stood by the window in the living room, watching the sun climb higher into the sky. The light danced on the glass, and for a moment, he felt a calmness settle deep inside him. Emma appeared, carrying pancake. She handed one to him and leaned against the window frame, gazing outside. “It’s a beautiful day,” she said, her voice gentle. Thomas nodded, taking a sip. “It is. Feels like a good day for something simple.” Emma glanced at him, her lips curving into a soft smile. “Something simple? What did you have in mind?” “Nothing planned,” he admitted. “Maybe just letting the day unfold, spending it with you and Lily.” Emma tilted her head thoughtfully. “I like that idea.” From the hallway, Lily’s voice called out, breaking the quiet. “Mommy, Daddy! Can we have pancakes for breakfast?” Emma chuckled, pushing off the window frame. “Guess that’s how we’ll start.” Thomas followed her to the kitchen, where Lily was already dragging a chair to the counter. Her hair was

The air in the house was soft and warm, filled with the quiet hum of everyday life. Thomas sat in his study, the faint scratching of his pen on paper the only sound breaking the stillness. He wasn’t working on contracts or plans tonight. Instead, he was writing a letter a habit he’d taken up recently. There was something grounding about the simplicity of writing by hand, capturing thoughts with ink. He leaned back, reading over the lines. The words felt honest, reflecting the steady gratitude he’d grown to carry each day. Folding the letter, he tucked it into his notebook and set it aside. The clock on the wall showed it was nearing Lily’s bedtime. Thomas rose, stretching as he made his way to the living room. Emma was curled up on the couch, a book in her hands. Her hair was pulled back loosely, and she looked up with a smile when he walked in. “Finished your writing?” she asked, closing her book. Thomas nodded, settling beside her. “For now. How’s your story coming along?”

The days that followed were calm, a welcome change from the whirlwind Thomas and his family had endured. The quiet felt foreign at first, as if the tension of recent weeks still lingered in the air. Yet, with each passing day, Thomas allowed himself to lean into the stillness. Morning sunlight spilled through the office windows as Thomas sat at his desk, a steaming cup of hot coffee in hand. His schedule was mercifully light, leaving him with time to catch up on work that had been neglected. Greg knocked softly before stepping inside. “Morning, Thomas. Thought I’d check in.” Thomas gestured for him to sit. “Morning. Everything good on your end?” Greg nodded, handing over a file. “Security reports, just routine checks. No issues to note.” Thomas flipped through the pages, scanning the concise updates. He closed the file and set it aside. “Thanks, Greg. Let’s keep the protocols steady for now, but I think we can start scaling back gradually.” “Will do,” Greg said, standing

The days rolled on, quieter now, yet Thomas couldn't shake the feeling that peace was fragile. Isabella’s note replayed in his mind, each word sharp and deliberate. Her sudden retreat didn’t sit well, but he wanted to believe it was genuine. That morning, the office buzzed with routine energy, a stark contrast to the tension that had dominated in recent weeks. Thomas stood by the window, the city stretched out before him. His reflection in the glass mirrored his unease. “Thomas,” Greg’s voice broke through his thoughts. “You’ve got a moment?” Turning, Thomas waved him in. Greg carried a file, his expression unreadable. “Still nothing from Isabella,” Greg began, setting the file on the desk. “But there’s a small issue we need to discuss. It’s probably unrelated, but I’d rather not dismiss it outright.” Thomas frowned, flipping open the file. Inside were photographs of security footage of a woman entering a building downtown. Her face was obscured by shadows, but the resemblan

The next few days passed without any sign of Isabella, and for the first time in a while, Thomas allowed himself a moment to breathe. He had taken every precaution, ensuring that his family and company were protected. Security was on high alert, and the team had strict instructions to report any unusual activity. Thomas sat in his office, reviewing reports, when Greg walked in with an update. “Morning, Thomas,” Greg said, holding a small envelope. “This just came in for you.” Thomas frowned, taking the envelope. It was plain, with no return address. He opened it carefully, pulling out a handwritten note. The message was brief: I’ve decided to leave. You’ve made yourself clear. Best of luck to you and your family. It was signed simply, Isabella.Thomas stared at the note, his jaw tightening. He handed it to Greg, who read it quickly. “Do you think she means it?” Greg asked. Thomas leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers on the desk. “It’s hard to say. Isabella’s un
