Stephen: “You should go home now. Next time, I hope you won’t avoid my kiss.”

With a charming smile on his face, Stephen said those words before getting into his car. After coming back to my senses, I knocked on Liliana’s door.

Liliana: “Irene, why are you here? Didn’t you say you wouldn’t come tonight?”

The moment I stepped inside, Liliana looked at me in surprise.

Me: “Liliana, I might have to crash at your place for a few days. I’ll move out as soon as I find another place to stay.”

As I walked past her, I smiled awkwardly. After all, I had stormed out of her house angrily before, and now I was the one coming back.

Liliana: “Move out? Are you still mad at me? I know I said things that upset you, but that’s all in the past. You can stay here as long as you want. I promise I’ll never ask you to move out again.”

What had happened last time had probably left a scar in Liliana’s heart as well. Looking at me with guilt in her eyes, she kept apologizing.

Me: “What are you talking about? H

  • The billionaire’s beloved    unexpected

My mind was completely occupied by Nathan. Frustrated, I buried my head under the blanket and forced myself to stop thinking about him. After all, I had nothing to do with that man anymore, and whatever he wanted to do had nothing to do with me.The next day, as soon as I arrived at the company, I began revising the design proposal. After a full day of hard work the day before, I had thought it was already perfect. Yet to my great surprise, Nathan rejected it again almost immediately. Having learned my lesson, I stopped arguing with him and continued working on the document. With Nathan’s personality, arguing with him was pointless.Still, when I thought about it carefully, I had gone through countless hardships to get this position. If I gave up because of Nathan, wouldn’t that mean he had succeeded in forcing me out of the company? I wasn’t that foolish—was I?Just as I was about to leave the office, I received a call from Stephen. Suddenly, I remembered that we were supposed to mee

  • The billionaire’s beloved    Would you come back voluntarily?

Me: “Mr. Spence, if there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving now.”I wanted to leave his office as quickly as possible. I no longer wished to see his face. Unfortunately, my phone suddenly rang. Stephen’s name appeared on the screen.Noticing that Nathan was still standing beside me, I felt his cold gaze fixed on me. He was an intelligent man—judging by the expression on my face, he could probably guess who was calling.I hesitated, unsure whether I should answer. At first, I didn’t want Nathan to know that I was seeing Stephen again. However, after everything Nathan had just said to me, I wondered why I should still care about his feelings when he could be so indifferent toward me. And what if I was seeing Stephen? After all, I had already cut ties with Nathan. Thinking this way, I answered the call.Me: “Hey, Stephen.”Ever since I had started seeing Stephen again, my tone toward him had become much more intimate. Still, the main reason was that I wanted to see how Nathan would react—t

  • The billionaire’s beloved    unoriginal

Me: “From my perspective, I believe this type of advertising can better reflect the product’s characteristics and the audience’s needs. Nowadays, many ads exaggerate benefits rather than focusing on the product’s actual features. However, I don’t think such excessive methods are necessary.”I spoke while trembling, feeling slightly resentful of the way Nathan was treating me. Even though we had argued many times in the past, he had never yelled at me like this.Could it be that his attitude toward me had changed since our breakup?Nathan: “So you’re saying you only want to advertise the truth? I’m not against your idea, but your proposal lacks originality. Go back and revise the document.”Nathan shoved the documents into my arms while continuing to scold me. From beginning to end, his gaze remained indifferent. Tears welled up in my eyes, but I immediately forced them back.Indeed, Nathan was truly heartless. We had just ended our relationship, yet he could reprimand me without the s

  • The billionaire’s beloved    Relaxed

I spoke in a relaxed tone, unlike before, when I used to argue with Nathan. He had always been more receptive to gentle approaches than harsh ones, so I hoped he would accept my request this time.Nathan stared at me in silence, his eyes filled with anger. I could clearly see that he was on the verge of losing his temper again. Just when I thought he was about to explode, he suddenly stepped back and returned to the driver’s seat.Nathan: “From now on, we have nothing to do with each other. Get out.”He spoke indifferently, yet his eyes burned with fury as he looked at me. Hearing those words, my heart tightened painfully. Even though our relationship was over, I still couldn’t understand why I didn’t feel happy at all.Are we really cutting all ties from now on?That thought lingered in my mind, leaving me slightly depressed. I quickly got out of the car. Nathan watched me with eyes as sharp as an eagle hunting its prey, making me feel extremely uncomfortable.Back at the office, I i

  • The billionaire’s beloved    Very beautiful indeed.

Me: “Even if you’re not worried, I am. From the beginning, we both know that it’s impossible for us to be together. Do you know how much gossip spreads in the village when neighbors gather? If my parents tell our story to them, how could I face going home in the future? If my parents tell the neighbors that I have a wealthy boyfriend, how could I answer if someone asks about him? And if I say we’ve broken up, wouldn’t that tarnish my reputation?”Nathan: “Alright,” he said after a long pause.I looked at his profile sideways, stunned, unsure how to react. Had he accepted my request? After that, we didn’t speak until we reached West Northam. After placing my luggage in the room, I was about to rest. Suddenly, my phone rang.Seeing it was a call from Liliana, I quickly answered. After all, I hadn’t spoken to her all day, and I was also quite worried.Me: “Hi, Liliana,” I said, picking up the phone. As I entered the living room, Nathan was taking a bottle of water from the fridge.
