He stood up to greet me with a light kiss on the cheek and pulled out my chair for me. Once I sat down, he went to sit across from me, on the other side of the table.

I took the initiative and ordered two cups of coffee.

He sat there facing me without saying a word. Usually, he was the one who started the conversation, but this time he simply looked at me. I felt a little uncomfortable, so I decided to speak first.
