Selene’s POV

Chris had just proposed to Aria and she accepted.

“What about the wedding?” I asked, my throat dry.

“It’ll be called off. Once they don’t see Aria, there won’t be a wedding. Then we can talk to her parents.” he had a cheerful smile.

I glanced at Aria. Her head rested gently on his shoulder, her arms wrapped around his waist.

My heart broke at the sight.

“I’ll be at the hotel. I don’t feel okay. The trip must’ve made me sick,” I said, forcing a small smile.

Chris pulled away from Aria and walked quickly toward me. “Are you sure you’re alright, Selene? We can head back together.”

“No, it’s fine,” I interrupted, trying to keep my voice steady. “You stay with Aria. That’s why we came, remember?”

His brows furrowed. I could see the hesitation in his eyes, part of him wanted to check on me, but another part was already turning back to her.

“Alright. Just be safe, okay? And if it gets worse, call me.”

I nodded, then turned and walked away.

~~~
I caught a taxi back to the hotel.
  • The chosen luna   chapter 95
    Later in the day, I received a call from the director's office. When I got there, he didn’t look at me. He just pointed at the pile of files on his table.“Me?” I asked, a little confused.“Finish them all before you leave,” he said flatly, returning his focus to the computer.I stared at him for a moment before dragging the files off his desk and dropping them loudly on mine. That damn director. I swear, I’ll put him in his place someday.I sat down and began sorting through the files, writing, editing, and preparing them for publication. One by one, everyone left the office.“Selene, aren’t you going home?” Mary asked.I raised my tired eyes. “I will, once I’m done with these.”“Alright, see you tomorrow,” she said, waving before disappearing. Soon, I was the only one left.“Selene? You’re still at the office? I thought you’d left. I called you several times.” Chris called, walking over to my desk.I checked my phone, it was on silent. I must’ve been too focused.“I’ll be leaving so
    Selene’s POV“Stop being friends? I don’t really understand.”“Selene… she meant it’s either I choose you or her.”My face fell. “She actually said that? So… what’s your choice? Aria or me?”For some reason, I was terrified to hear his answer.“Are you really asking me that?” he said, quietly. “You know better than anyone how much Aria means to me. But I can’t stop being close to you either.”“So will you forfeit your marriage then?”Chris went silent.“I’m still thinking about it,” he muttered. “I… I can’t pick, Selene.”What was there to think about, anyway? As much as I wanted him to choose me, deep down, I already knew he never would.“There’s fifteen minutes left,” I said, changing the subject. “Shouldn’t we get ready for the flight?”I didn’t want this conversation to go on. It was awkward and painful.I went back to my room, packed my things, and left for the airport. The whole flight home, I couldn’t stop thinking about what Chris said. He can’t pick.So, in the end, I’d lose
  • The chosen luna   Chapter 93
    Selene’s POVWhen I woke up the next morning, I was back in my hotel room.My eyes snapped open. I sat up quickly and ran to the door, yanking it open. The hallway was quiet.How the hell am I back in my room?The last thing I remembered was the cave… the beast… It said my name.My head spun as I walked over to Chris’s room and knocked. The door opened, and Aria stepped out.She stared at me, her eyes unreadable, before walking past me without a word.Chris appeared next.He looked surprised to see me. “Come in,” he said quickly, then rushed after Aria.I stepped into his room and sat on the couch. The entire space reeked of Aria. It was suffocating.I walked to the windows and opened them wider, letting the fresh air in. Then I sprayed a bit of my own perfume. It felt better.Chris returned minutes later, looking sad and distracted. He dropped into the seat beside me.“Last night…” I started. “Were you the one who brought me back to my room?”He shook his head. “No, I didn’t. When I
  • The chosen luna   Chapter 91- part two (The Alpha's possession)
    SELENE’S POVI couldn’t have been more excited for this trip. My story pitch finally got approved, a once-in-a-lifetime shot at that big promotion. I should be out celebrating, or at least packing up my gear.Instead, I was sitting on a torn couch in my tiny apartment, watching a grown man cry into a tissue like the world had ended.“I can’t live without her, Selene,” Chris whimpered, blowing his nose for the fifth time. “She’s everything to me.”I sighed and handed him another tissue, my brows twitching with the effort to keep my mouth shut.“This is your fifth breakup in ten months, Chris,” I said quietly. “And it’s always her. It’s always Aria.”“She’s just upset. She’ll come around. She always does.”I clenched my jaw and stared at him, trying not to let the bitterness in my chest bubble up again. Aria. That name had become a knife to me. She had him wrapped around her little finger for years. The on-again, off-again disaster that was their relationship left him constantly wrecke
