What welcomed me was a picture of me and Sophia speaking to each other at the event I just left and Isabella scoffed when I didn’t say anything.

“Did you really think I wouldn’t know what you were up to at that party? I have eyes on you, Aiden,” she sneered, her hands akimbo while she glared at me.

“What are you doing here, unannounced, Isabella? I told you to call me before showing up in my house.” I ignored the picture she just shoved in my face as I left for my room and she quickly followed me to stand before me again, blocking me from going up the stairs.

“I came here to make dinner for you but I ended up finding out your ungrateful ass was speaking to your ex-wife at that party!” she yelled in my face and I took off my jacket first to feel more comfortable.

“Since when did I promise you that I won’t speak to Sophia again, Isabella? Look. I have a headache and all I want to do is go to bed. So if you aren’t here to make things better for me, you should leave at once.”
