Angel

I walked away and took a cab. I didn’t know if it was anger, pride, or just self-worth, but something was definitely burning inside me.

After a few minutes of driving, I leaned forward slightly.

“Sir, can you please stop here? I want to get something.”

The driver slowed down and pulled over.

I stepped out and walked toward the spot where I had earlier dropped the bicycle. For a second, I held my breath, then I saw it. Still there. Exactly where I had left it. Relief washed over me.

Angel“Why?” I asked. He just stared at me.Emotionless.Like I was nothing. My question did not even deserve an answer.“You should have asked me before you signed the contract,” he said calmly. “Maybe if you were not so desperate, you would have remembered to ask that question.”“I was not desperate,” I barked back, my voice shaking slightly. “I had no choice.”“And what makes you think you have a choice now?” he replied immediately. “Or a right to answers?”His words hit hard. Too hard. I opened my mouth to speak, but nothing came out. I just stood there, staring at him.Anger burned in my chest, tears gathered in my eyes, but I refused to let them fall.Do I even have a choice? If I walk away, won’t he try to frame me for attempted murder?Papa still needs care.I can’t just leave.I can’t.Before I could say anything else, his phone rang.He picked it up without looking at me.“Yes,” he said. The door opened almost immediately.Maria walked in.“They will be ready for the present

  • The cursed Alpha’s Contract Bride    Why?

AngelWhy would he tell me to use the stairs? We were just three; we could have used the elevator. He is always grumpy, but why would Bianca lie about their engagement? Or are they truly engaged to be married?I dropped my things on the desk, picked up the file, and walked down the hallway slowly, holding it tightly against my chest. As I got closer to Drake’s office, I saw the door open. Men walked out. One after the other, their faces were tight.Angry.Frustrated.No one spoke. No one looked at me.But I could feel itSomething had gone wrong inside. Then I saw her.The grandmother.Standing tall.Cold.Beside her stood Bianca, her expression serious. There was no trace of the smile she wore when the press appeared. My steps slowed, but I did not stop.Their eyes fell on me.Sharp.Judging.“Still here?” the old woman said, her voice low.I noticed something. She kept her voice controlled. Not loud. Not enough for others in the hallway to hear.Everything about them was controlled.

  • The cursed Alpha’s Contract Bride    Get out

DrakeI knew I should not have let her enter the car with me.From the moment I saw Bianca walking toward us that morning, I already knew she was up to something. She is always up to something. And yet.I still let it happen. Not because I wanted to.But because I needed answers. The Rebels had attacked. She was there. She was bleeding. And yet she said nothing. Not a word about what happened.Instead.She smiled. She flirted. She acted like nothing had happened. That alone was enough to put me on edge. But what I did not expect—Was the press. The moment we stepped out of the car, they came from nowhere.Cameras.Voices.Questions.Too many questions.Too fast.Too planned. My jaw tightened immediately. She set this up.Of course she did.I turned slightly, ready to walk away from the chaos. But then. Her hand slipped into my arm.Tight.Possessive.“Bianca,” I muttered under my breath. She only smiled. That same perfect smile. The kind that fools everyone.“Mr. Crane! When is the we

AngelI shut the book quickly and pushed it away from me.“No,” I whispered. My heart was still racing.“It’s just a story… just a story. But why do the letters feel so alive?”I lay back on the bed and pulled the blanket over my body, trying to force my eyes shut.Sleep.That was all I needed.Just sleep. But every time I closed my eyes, I saw it again—The boy.The well. The eyes. And then Bianca. Her blood. Her lifeless body.Everything took turns in my mind, like shadows fighting for space in my head.I turned to the other side of the bed.“This is silly, Angel. You’re overthinking.”I squeezed my eyes tighter.Minutes passed. Then more.Still no sleep.I groaned softly and sat up.“I need water,” I muttered.I slipped my feet into my slippers and walked toward the door. The hallway outside was quiet.Too quiet. The kind of silence that made every small sound feel louder.I walked slowly, careful not to make noise. As I got closer to the stairs—I heard voices.I froze. They were

AngelEverything was happening too fast.Bianca lay draped over Drake’s arm, her body limp, her head hanging at an unnatural angle. For a second, I thought he would lift her, hold her the way he had held me, firm and unyielding. But he didn’t, he stood there. Still. Unmoving. Emotionless. It was unsettling. She could have slipped from his grasp at any moment, yet he made no effort to adjust his hold, no sign of urgency in the way he carried her weight. It was as though she was nothing more than an object, something to be handled, not someone to be saved. My chest tightened. This wasn’t the man who had just pulled me from danger minutes ago. This was something else entirely. Something colder. Then, without a word, he signaled one of the guards.Just a slight movement of his fingers. That was all. The guard rushed forward immediately, carefully taking Bianca from him.Drake let go. Just like that. No hesitation. No lingering glance. Nothing. I swallowed hard, my stomach twisting at the

Relief washed over me.“At least something is going right today,” I muttered.I wheeled the bicycle toward the road and turned back.“Sir, can you please come and help me?” I called out.He stepped out of the car and walked over. Together, we lifted the bicycle and carefully placed it into the boot.He dusted his hands and looked at me.“Ma’am, where are you going to? I thought you said you were stopping here.”“Oh no,” I said quickly. “I’m still going forward. My house is about twenty minutes from here.”I pointed ahead.H
