FIFTY SEVEN ‘That fool’

“Hi, you've been here for five days already. I know you must be feeling incredibly sore and tired and cold for the pond is always cold. Why don't you leave? You came back for your punishment when you should've left, I really admire your courage but-”

“-Brother,” I was nearly surprised by how raspy my voice sounded. I hadn't eaten or had a drink since I came here. And it'd been five days already. I had two days to go, I couldn't slack off now.

“No need to worry, I'll accept my punishment gladly.” I said adamantly as I stared at the rising moon. It was near midnight and my heart was racing. My entire body ached and I was sure I was numb, I couldn't feel a thing.

Drip drip drip, rain poured on my already numb spirit. 

The rain marked the seventh day of my punishment along with the full moon above the sky.
