“Hey, Reagan! What did we hear about the issue earlier? We heard that Jake and mom approached you for lunch? ” Emcee asked me, as we walked out of school.

"Yeah, isn't Therese his girlfriend?" Mark asked while eating ice cream next to me.

We're going home, and I still have work to go to, I'm a little tired now because we've done a lot today, because the examination week is near, so we have a lot of activities to chase, it's also hard.

"I also don't know, maybe he's just teasing, and I'm the one he chose today," I explained as we walked.

I don't think about getting married. I still have a lot to do, I don't have a parent, I don't have anyone to rely on to study.

After my parents died because of a shootout, our relatives passed me around, until some of them took all the savings my parents had saved for my education.

They kicked me out after that, at the age of fourteen, I learned to stand on my own two feet, revive myself, feed and educate.

I could handle everything, because I had no choice, if not to do these things, because I wanted to live.

“Be careful about Therese, Reagan. You know that woman is crazy about Jake. She's head over heels. Even when they are still young, they are already together. ” Emcee reminded me.

I know that. The entire Campus knows that thing. Therese comes from a wealthy family, they are known throughout the school, as boyfriend and girlfriend. And I have no interest in that.

"Right, stay away from that man." Mark said, “Therese is too crazy to ignore what her fake boyfriend did earlier. You know, her brain is narrow and shallow. She always think, you flirted with that guy, and it's your fault. ”

He was right, because other students had already experienced that. Some were expelled from this school, others left because of the embarrassment Therese brought to them, and one woman committed suicide because of the excessive bullying she had suffered.

"I really have no intention of talking to that man, I have no interest in him, you know I have a lot to do."

They both nodded, they have been my friends since my parents died, they have been with me, and they have never left me.

"Ah, whatever." Emcee said so I laughed, he was annoyed when he said that.

"I'll go first, I still have to go to my par-time job, I can't be late so I can miss my salary, I'll soon pay the tuition fee."

They both nodded and said goodbye to me, I quickly walked to the boat to go to work.

When I arrived I immediately entered the staff room and put on my uniform, and went straight to the counter. I took the rug and wiped the tables that costumers could use to dine in here.

After that I took the cart, and went straight to the shelves to check our stocks that were about to expire and had expired today. After that I took it to the stock room, I got another cart and got a replacement for the ones I had removed.

It also took me about fifteen minutes to restock. When I heard the wind chimes, indicating that someone had entered, I immediately went to the counter and arranged some belongings there. My duty is until eleven o'clock this afternoon.

I took my cup and put it on, just as the costumer put down the two bottled water he bought and the two sandwiches that I had just put on the shelf.

I picked it up and applied it to the scanner, “That would be two hundred and sixty -eight—” I stopped when I recognized who was in front of me.

"Here." He handed me five hundred pesos, I took it and opened the money bag, to repay him. I also put what he bought in the paperbag, "Oh, don't wrap it, I'll eat it here." I just nodded and removed the food from the paperbag, and placed it on the tray next to me.

“Thank you for purchasing.” He handed it to me and smiled, but I frowned when he put it down in front of me, took a bottle of water and a sandwich, and handed it to me. "Here, this was for you."

I just shook my head and folded the paperbag that I should have put in the things he bought, also saying, “No, thank you. You bought that so you ate.” I replied.

"Come on, Reagan." I stopped what I was doing and frowned at him. “

I didn't see you this lunch. We are waiting in the cafeteria. ”

"I didn't agree with what you said, and I don't have the right to say what I should do." I told him directly.

He didn't seem to expect what I said because he stopped for a moment, but he just smiled, an amused smile. “I’m sorry, if you misunderstood me. That's not what I meant. ”

My eyebrows rose because of what he said, I couldn’t understand why he even had to come here just to say that.

"I like you, Reagan." I rolled my eyes when I heard him said that for the second time.

"And I don't, get lost." I said and took another small cart to look at the stocks again, because maybe I missed something, that should be off the shelf. I felt that he was following behind me.

"You're funny." I ignored what he said and just continued what I was doing. "I like you even more." I saw him drop the bottle and sandwich on the table near where I was standing. “Eat this. I know you haven't had lunch before. ” That's all he said before leaving.

I don’t know why, but something wrong is happening right now. And as much as possible, I want to avoid any mess. I’m a scholar at the school I attend, and I have no intention of ruining that, just for a guy.

                                          N O A H       A R D E N

"Come on dude, join the group reunion." Jo kept on insisting me to come to the reunion to be held tomorrow night. "It's been five years, you can fortify us all."

I just laughed as I mixed the wine I had mixed for him, after which I gently pushed it in front of him.

“You know that I don’t want, Jo. Don't force me to agree. ” I also translated the last Martinez mixture I had into the glass, and sat down in front of him.

“Dude, is that still your answer until now? The time since it happened- “

"Get out." I said coldly. "I don't want anyone to say that to me," I looked at her badly, "You don't know how it feels to lose your mother because of what you did."

I heard him sigh, "Okay, don't let anger come in your way." This was the last thing he said before finally leaving the bar.

I gripped the glass in front of me tightly.

Five years, it’s been five years since my mom died because of me. And my family, act as if I was not in fault of what happen, I know they are just hiding it, but deep down their hearts, I know. They blame me for what happened to our Mother.

I became an owner of a bar in Flovence, a successful one, I never played piano again, I resented that object, it was the main reason why my Mom is not here anymore.

I came back from my reverie, when I heard the glass door opened. An old woman came in, she doesn’t look like she came from this city, because I know those who come here, nevertheless, everyone who will come in, I will serve.

"Hmm, good evening, Noah." The old man greeted me, so I frowned.

She dressed like a successful city woman, but her smile brought warmth to my heart, and I don’t know why.

"Pleasant evening, what can I get you, madame?"

“No. I just came here to see you. ”

What an odd lady we got here?
