LOGINJane’s POV
I needed a lot of explanations from Alaric on how we departed from the hotel, but he hadn't given me attention since the incident. He didn't give me a chance to ask him any questions; his attitude was colder than before; all he wanted was for me should leave, but I wouldn't leave him. He hardly came home. I had never missed taking his food to the office.
For the past three years, I have been married, I have never been to any other places than the market and my husband's office. I dropped food for him every day; he hardly eats at home, and I didn't want him to starve because of his health.
After a deep thought, I packed the dishes I had made for him and headed to the office.
His secretary shot me with a dagger in her eyes as I entered. I wondered why she looked at me that way. Could it be that Alaric had told her about the incident? No way, he can't stoop so low to reveal my secret to her,’ I muttered as I entered my husband's office.
“Hi love, I brought your lunch.”
His expression became cold immediately when he saw me and called his secretary. “Janet, collect it from her and do it as usual,” he commanded.
I was confused when I heard, as usual, what did it mean by that? What have they been doing to my food for the three years I have been bringing it?
Janet put the will beside the bin, but Alaric yelled at her to do it as usual.
“You don't need to hide it any longer; I told you who she is now. Do the food as usual,” he yelled.
Janet took the food from the bin and went downstairs. I followed her to see what she would do to my food. To my surprise, I saw all the missing plates that I always asked Alaric to bring home after eating. The bin, rotten food, she poured the food into the bin and threw my plate away in my presence.
I screamed in horror as I saw this. My life crumbled. I couldn't believe Alaric despised me so much that he had been wasting the food I cooked for him for the past three years.
What have I done to deserve this?
As if struck by a hammer, my heart fractured into a thousand pieces, scattering pain and sorrow across my soul. I held my head and screamed like a woman who just lost her child—what I felt beyond that. My time, my energy, and my love have all been thrown in a bin every day for three years.
“Don't bark like a dog here; the boss made the wrong choice in marrying you; you are just a fool that you didn't know your man for all these years; he can never drink a cup of water you serve, not to mention food.”
My body trembled, I fell on my knees, and the tears that were forming in my eyes began to fall uncontrollably. What right did his secretary have to talk to me in this manner? She was aware of everything happening in my home for the past 3 years.
“I heard what you did, and you shamelessly refused to sign the divorce paper. What is left for you? Do you think he would ever love you? Stop daydreaming; I wish you had done this earlier and gained your freedom,” she sneered.
I couldn't take it any longer. I stood up from where I kneeled and acted bravely.
“Janet, What audacity do you have to put your mouth in my affairs? Are you out of your mind? Have you forgotten that you are a secretary to my husband? If you don't shut your dirty mouth, you will be sacked,” I yelled at her.
Janet crossed her hands on her chest and sneered, “You don't know who I am; you think I'm just a secretary to your husband? No, I'm more than that; I will give you a chance to find out for yourself,” she snapped and walked away.
“No, no, no, she can't be; my husband can't cheat on me; he can't have a mistress; she wasn't capable; why would he do that even though he hadn't touched me for 3 years? Janet must be lying to spite me; she wanted me to sign the divorce paper so that she could take over my place and enjoy Alaric; now he can perform well as a man on the bed.”
If being a fool would give me peace of mind, I would rather be; I failed to believe that there was something between them.
“Oh, about the food, does it mean I was a bad cook, or didn't he like my food? He should have had me, and I would have adjusted instead of throwing my effort into the bin”
I couldn't go upstairs to meet him because I was very angry at him. He did tell his secretary what happened to me; not only that, she had been throwing my food away for three years. I felt a pang in my heart when I recalled how inconvenient it was for me to drop off his food at his office. I always pour my heart into everything I do for him. What did he use to pay me? Betrayal.
I walked dejectedly out of his company to find my way home. I didn't want to take a cab because I wanted to cry my heart out, and I didn't want him to meet me home either.
I wanted him to feel my absence; probably he would feel my pain.
I stopped at a small restaurant on the roadside and ordered snacks and water. I sat there till 7 p.m. in the night, hoping Alaric would call me when he found me absent. He usually arrives home at 6 p.m., and he won't go anywhere except in his private room to relax.
I began walking home, and I got home around 10 p.m.
Everywhere was open. “Why would Alaric be this careless?” I muttered in annoyance.
I saw a female bag on the table in the dining room. I don't have this type of bag; all the bags I have are outdated, so I couldn't take them out anymore. “Did he get a bag for me to apologize?" A bright smile escaped my lips.
“Alaric must have reason to be wasting my food; he is not that bad,” I muttered.
The room smelled like rotten eggs. Perhaps I should have taken care of the dishes before I went out. My sense of smell has been off these days; everything irritates me.
I walk to the bedroom, probably to shower and change my clothes.
My ears ached with a moaning sound coming from my bed. Who could have been doing this in my matrimonial bed?
They were moaning loudly and saying some dirty words.
A female voice said,” Alaric, you gave it to me like this for the last two years; harder, please.” she begged.
“You should have told me you like it; I'm all yours; I am made for you alone,” Alaric responded.
I opened the door, and I saw Alaric on top of a lady whose face wasn't seen.
As I swung the door open, a shock seized my heart, making me freeze in place. A surge of disbelief and betrayal coursed through my veins, rendering me speechless.
My chest tightened with each breath, a silent scream trapped within. A wave of nausea churned in my stomach, threatening to consume me. My trembling hands clenched on the bag I was holding. Tears that welled up in my eyes blurred my vision.
Is this a joke? Alaric had medical issues; we were supposed to try it some months ago, but he couldn't be this perfect if he was sick.
He was drenched in sweat as he banged the lady under him.
You couldn't believe Alaric just got into the work; he was doing it perfectly.
The bag in my hand dropped on the floor as my body couldn't support its weight, and this jolted them out of their actions.
“What the fuck! What are you doing with my bag?” she yelled under Alaric.
“Baby, she has dropped the bag; can we continue?” Alaric muttered.
“Yes, baby, you damn good; you're almost there,” she snickered.
They were unfazed by my presence; I was nothing but a speck of dust in Alaric’s eyes.
“Alar…,” I stuttered, struggling to call out his name, but my lips felt heavy, and my words were trapped by thickened saliva.
“I'm not blind,” he said as he continued with her.
My vision blurred, and before I could utter another sound, darkness enveloped me, and I slumped to the ground, unconscious.
Allen's povA knock came on the door and my assistant made his way into the office.“ What is the result of your investigations, have you checked with the hotel again?” I questioned with a stern voice at the same time attending to the pile of documents on my table.“ I have checked with the hotel today and it was confirmed that the woman returned the request for the CCTV footage,” William answered with a slight bow.I glanced up from what I was doing, interested in where the conversation was heading.“ Is she the same woman that was captured in the footage? Is that the only thing that you found out?” I asked.“ Yes sir, she is the one that was captured by the camera though she wasn't provided the footage in regards to your Instructions,” he answered with certainty.“ Finally, there is great news, did you do the background check I requested?” my heart felt contemplated by the information he just revealed. I have been searching for the girl since the night of the incident but there was
I thought I was waking up on my bed, so I decided to roll my body to the other side of the bed. Then I found out I was at the edge of the bed, about to fall; the space was too small.Panic began to rise within me as I struggled to recall how I ended up here. Then, like a flickering light, fragmented memories started to piece together. My husband was in bed with a strange lady. The strange lady under my husband is none other than Elle, the heiress of the Kone family. She is an actress. I have met her countless times in my husband's office during lunchtime.I always thought she visited my husband's secretary. It never occurred to me that she was my husband's mistress.Did they attack me? Why did I end up here?” I asked. There is no one to answer my question. The door swung open. I could not believe what my eyes saw. My husband walked in with his hand around Elle Waste. Tears welled up in my eyes. I didn't want it to fall. Alaric didn't deserve it.I gazed away as I saw them and said, “G

Jane's PovA wave of headache hit me as I tried to remember what happened the previous day. I yawned and stretched my sore body on the bed. The memory of the previous day rushed to my head, and it made me smile brightly.‘Can’t believe that I have finally consummated my marriage after three years' I palmed my face as I thought to myself shyly. The sound of water could be heard from the bathroom, and then my phone dinged! I saw a call coming in from my husband. I smiled heartily. “Why is he calling me from the bathroom?” I asked.I heard that sex is one of the things that strengthen relationships. Maybe he can't think less of me to the extent that he is calling me in the bathroom.Should I go and meet him there, or should I pick up this call?'Let me pick up the call; he might need something in the bathroom,' I suggested.“Jane, where have you been since yesterday night? How dare you leave the spot I asked you to stay in, and aren't you supposed to be at home by now?” He snapped angril
