Chapter 6

Liam’s POV:

As we got to school,I parked my car in the parking lot and hurried to class with the intention of explaining things to Ava.

I don’t want her to misunderstand my friendship with Sophia.

As I walked into the classroom,I noticed that Ava was already in class.I took a deep breath and started walking towards her,feeling nervous.When I got to where she was sitting,I sat next to her 

Hi Liam”she said.

Hey Ava”I replied.

Umm Ava about last night,soph is just my….

“You don’t have to say anything”she said.

It was just a fling”,she continued.

Oh”I was hurt but I didn’t know what else to say as I nodded my head.

A loud crash interrupted the class,I looked up and saw a guy standing in the doorway,his eyes filled with rage.He walked towards us.

“Ava is mine”the guy snarls.

“Stay away from her”

“That’s enough Noah”she said.

What are you doing in my class”she asked.

“Babe,I hope you are not in support of him cause it’s going to hurt me”he said and held her hand tightly. 

“Let me go,Noah”you are hurting me”,she said with pain.

“She said let her go”,I said calmly 

His fists connects to my jaw and I fell to the ground. 

“Who are you to tell me what to do with my babe”he said fiercely.

I could taste blood in my mouth,my vision goes red with rage,I feel a strange power coursing through my body,I let out a low growl.

“Get up and act like a man”he said.

As I stood up breathing so hard,I punched him so hard that he fell to the floor then I went for the chair next to me and as I was about to hit him.

“Stop it Liam”Ava screamed.

I dropped the chair still feeling the anger coursing through my body.

I turned to face her.

“Liam,your face”she said with fear in her eyes.

I turned and ran out of the class running down the hallway.

So I sat outside the football court,I sat there for like 15mins thinking.

“What did Ava see when she looked at my face,did she notice anything,should I ask Sophia about this even though I’m still mad at her”.

Then I heard a voice behind me.

“Can we talk Liam”

I turned and it was Ava.

“Ummm,sure”I said.

She sat next to me,”I’m so sorry about what happened”,she said.

It’s fine Ava,it’s not your fault”I said.

“No,it’s my fault,I dated someone like him,then I found out he wasn’t worth it and ever since I left him,he wouldn’t let me move on”she said.

Then she turned my face to her direction and we were looking straight into each other’s eyes,then I bent my head.

She raised my head 

“Your lips”,she said as she touched me there and it was just  stains of blood.

“How did it heal?,I’m pretty sure he hit you bad”,she said.

“Ummm,no he didn’t”,I  said removing my face.

“You know you are a bit weird right”she said.

“Well,you said you could handle it”

She smiled “yea,I did”

“The chair,when you left,there was a scratch on it,it looked like an animal scratch,

“I don’t know if there are animals in this school or something?but that’s my first time seeing that”,she said.

“My dad clearly dosen’t care,cause he never said anything at home”.

I got scared and I stood up.

“What is it Liam?”she said

“Is it what I said?,c'mon don’t be scared”I was just guessing”,she said laughing about it.

“I need to get home Ava,it’s really urgent”I said.

“I will text you though”,I said walking as fast as I could to get to the parking lot.

Then I called Nora.

“What is it Liam!?,I’m in class,I’d better not get a detention when I’m caught”she said

Can you ditch your last lesson?,we need to go home,it’s urgent “I said

“Why should I do that for you?,she snapped.

“Look Nora,I don’t have the energy for this,so you better act right and come out or I will leave you behind,the choice is yours”,I said breathing hard and Nora could sense it.

“What happened Liam?,are you okay?”she asked

I will be out in a minute”,she continued as I didn’t respond.

Then the call ended. 

As I was sitting in the car waiting,someone knocked on the window,it was Nora.

Come in”I said.

What happened?she said.

“You kissed another human girl?”she asked laughing  so loud.

“Shut up Nora,you’re no fun”I said and then we drove home.

As I entered the house, i can hear my dad in the kitchen, clanging pots and pans. I took a deep breath and walked to the kitchen where he was. "Dad, I have to tell you something," I said, my voice shaking. "I lost control today, and I damaged something." My dad stops what he's doing and turned to look at me,his face stern. "Go on," he says. "What happened?"

I took a deep breath,

“I got into a fight with someone and he punched me and I lost control but I was able to run out of class but the chair,there was a scratch on it”I said 

 When i finished,i looked up at his dad, who is staring at me,his face unreadable.  "I'm disappointed in you, Liam," he says. "You know how important it is to keep control of your transformation." And then you go out at night,kiss a human…

“I’m so sorry dad,but can we not talk about that night right now “I said. 

“I know I messed up but dad it’s not really that bad”,I continued.

But then I noticed dad’s hands were shaking.

“Dad,are you okay?”

I’m fine Liam ,he said.

“I will teach you how to get better at it”,he said.

“We can start tomorrow”,he continued.

You don’t have to go to school tomorrow so have a good rest today”,he said.

Then he left.

“What’s wrong with him?,I’ve never seen him this worried before and scared”,I said watching him walk upstairs. 

“Is there a history behind this rules and was he involved in it?.

As I was still thinking about dad’s recent weird behaviors,my mum called.

“Liam,what are you still doing in the kitchen?”,she said.

I came out of the kitchen and walked to her.

“Hi mum”,I said as i hugged her.

“That’s a first”,she said looking at me.

“Is everything okay?”,she continued.

“Everything’s…..

“Not okay”,Nora said as we both turned to her direction.

“Here we go again,another drama”,I said as mum shaked her head.

“So what is it Nora?”,I said.

“You know the problem,Liam,the problem is that we left school when I was suppose to have classes and guess what,I’m not cool with it!!.

“So why don’t you go cry in your room”,I screamed back at her.

“Both of you calm down this minute”,Dad said.

“Go up to your room this instant”,he said as we climbed upstairs,Nora making faces at me.
