Fred walked into the house feeling feverish. He stopped by the set of couches and stared at the spot he had fallen unconscious after Vera's hit. Seeing the place made his head throb.

"Okay, okay, you've got this, Fred." He told himself and ascended the stairs and came to their room.

Fred waited outside the room for some minutes to take deep breaths. The door was opened and he could see Vera's figure tucked under the blanket. She looked like a statue. Pale and unmoving. Seeing her reminded him of the attack again.

He asked his wolf whether to go in there or just turn around and leave, and got no help.

Fred's wolf had long given up on him. Even his wolf couldn't tolerate his denseness and went into a long state of silence. He didn't care whether Fred brought a mistress or took his Luna for granted. He was just living for the sake of living until he had to.

"Say something, Kasper. You're a useless wolf. You never help me." He growled and his wolf only sighed in response.
